Рецензируемая монография является первым в историографии специальным углубленным исследованием правого крыла партийной системы на примере Владимирской губернии. Этим трудом И.В. Омельянчук подводит итог длительного изучения правых организаций Владимирской губернии, начиная с их создания осенью 1905 г. и до прекращения их активности летом–осенью 1916 г.
The monograph under review is the first in historiography fundamental and in-depth research of the right wing in the party system, written on the example of Vladimir Governorate. In this work, I.V. Omel'yanchuk attempts to summarize the results of his enduring research of the right-wing organizations of Vladimir Governorate, starting from their creation in the autumn of 1905 and until the termination of their activity in the summer–autumn of 1916.

This article focuses on two practices which, while neglected by historiography, played a fundamental role in the re-emergence of the fascist community after 1945, namely travel and reading. Travel allowed fascists to realise that the political cause they were fighting for had remained alive even outside their own borders, and to strengthen and renew their transnational network, while reading books – often banned books – allowed them to reinforce their ideology and score a victory over the authorities. By leaving aside a reconstruction focused purely on political events, this article sheds light on how fascists were materially able to re-think their political identity and to influence, albeit to different degrees, the transformed political context of the immediate post-war period.

"Based on fifteen court records from the national Archives of Sibiu and Braşov, dating to 1692-1785, this paper will examine the main characteristics of the individuals that had been involved in witchcraft trials in early modern Transylvania (seventeenth and eighteenth centuries). Furthermore, this study will try to investigate the social mechanisms that encouraged the community to start seeking a scapegoat in order to provide an explanation for misfortunes that occured in everyday life. Taking into consideration the fact that regional historiography showed little interest in the social dimension of witchcraft accusations, the present study will attempt to explore the social context for the trials, while contending with the well-known stereotypes about witches. This article is the 10th anniversary lecture of Agrarian South: Journal of Political Economy, delivered in 2021. It provides a reflection on key issues and fallacies that lie at the origins of political economy. It is argued that, as regards the problem of knowledge production, the formulation of factually and logically incorrect theories begins with English classical political economy. Political economy as developed in England in the second half of the eighteenth century—a period which saw a rapid increase in its trade especially with its colonies of conquest, while also making the transition to factory production—proceeded on the basis of verbal and material fallacies and silences which have been reproduced in historiography and the discipline of economics to this day.

The article presents the historiography of the Third Reich thematically related to the Poland campaign 1939. The publications were supposed to justify German invasion, glorify victory and create the myth of invincibility of the Wehrmacht. However, even amongst them it is possible to find works, which, after being subjected to severe critique, constitute an important source of information about the hostilities and the people who participated in them. They have a significant informative value. There are interesting photographs of soldiers, weapons, equipment and battlefields included in them. After 1945 German historians showed little interest in Poland campaign 1939. As a result, few scientific publications on that subject were prepared. Most of them are of fragmentary character.

Abstract: The study of German Begriffsgeschichte (conceptual history) by scholars such as Koselleck focuses on historiography, but its basic hypotheses are highly philosophical. One of its tasks is to explore modernity from the perspective of language, hence can be
understood as the "linguistic approach" in the study of modernity. As for the origin of the theory, the conceptual evolution of Verzeitlichung (temporalization), Demokratisierung (democratization), Politisierung (politicization), and Ideologisierbarkeit
(ideologicalization) proposed by Koselleck was not only largely affected by Gadamer's hermeneutics and Heidegger's existential phenomenology but also deeply influenced by Carl Schmitt's political philosophy. In Koselleck's view, conceptual upheaval in the revolutionary
era from 1750 to 1850 was, essentially, a semantic struggle in which old and new forces competed fiercely.

By embodying movement vocabulary and physical culture drills drawn from a 1911 textbook of physical exercises, in this girl-centred research project we examined how Alberta girls (aged 7 to 22) during the COVID-19 pandemic challenged ideas about Alberta settler girls who lived 100 years ago. Using performance-based historiography as a methodology, participants explored what embodying physical culture movement vocabulary could reveal about archives, past girls, and themselves. Debriefing led to insights concerning relevant social issues, such as gender equity, and current experiences like a growing appreciation for pre-pandemic community-oriented life. In asking provocative questions about the past, these girls demonstrated their potential to shift perceptions of how historically located and contemporary girls are imagined.

Based on the analysis of diplomatic correspondence of British ambassador in Russia at the court of Empress Anna Ioannovna highlights the process of preparation for the conclusion of the Russian-British commercial treaty in 1734. In foreign and Russian historiography, the treaty was actively discussed, but the plot related to its preparatory stage was poorly covered, or not touched at all. The author draws attention to the complex nature of the negotiations, the persistence and skill of the British negotiators in achieving their goals, and the weakness and inability to protect the national interests of certain high-ranking Russian officials. The treaty of 1734 is estimated by the author as unequal and the most profitable for the English merchant class.

This article examines the relations between Portuguese society and Salazar's political police (PIDE) from the perspective of the everyday lives of ordinary citizens – in contrast to the small minority of oppositionists that has so far monopolized the attention of historians. It is based on a quantitative survey of 400 respondents in four separate locations across Portugal and addresses two main research questions: To what extent did the sample of ordinary citizens experience the PIDE as a disruptive influence on their daily lives? Was the PIDE 'normalized' by them as part of the framework of everyday life? The data analysis calls upon the inputs of the international bibliography of everyday life under dictatorship and critically engages with the existing historiography of the PIDE.

У даній роботі здійснено аналіз історіографії та джерельної бази дослідження, визначено становище в якому опинилися поляки після національно-визвольних повстань, висвітлено радикалізацію польських політичних партій та розкрито особливості підходів до польського національного питання в Австро-Угорщині, Німеччині та Російській імперії. ; Among other national issues, the Polish national question was extremely complex and well-known in Europe. This paper analyzes the historiography and source base of the study, identifies the situation of Poles after the national liberation uprisings, highlights the radicalization of Polish political parties and reveals the peculiarities of approaches to the Polish national question in Austria-Hungary, Germany and the Russian Empire.

On the basis of historiography, a comparative socio -psychological review of political biographies and personal characteristics of Stalin and Kirov is carried out. A number of new sources were used: the correspondence of the Bolsheviks, the stenotech of Trotsky's counter-process, and journalistic investigations. The system of indirect various data presented in favor of the version of Stalin's participation in the organization of the murder of Kirov and qualitatively and quantitatively clearly outweighs the set of indirect arguments from the opposite point of view. The removal of Kirov was the initial stage of the forced rotation of the first generation of the Bolshevik political elite. The crime was a stain of Stalin, which eventually killed him mentally.

This article attends to a formative moment in the history of Japanese historiography around 1900, when many Japanese historians began to identify with the eminent German historian Leopold von Ranke—curiously, however, without a substantial preceding engagement with his work. The article employs the concept of the "scholarly persona" to explore the views of influential Japanese historians on the significance of Leopold von Ranke as an embodiment of scholarly virtues. Contrasting Ranke's image in Japan with that prevalent among German and European practitioners, the article argues that Ranke did not function as a marker of a "Western" or "modern" way of doing history, as most previous accounts of his impact in Japan have asserted, but as a universally appropriable icon of a globalizing discipline.

The article deals with the problem of anti-collaborationist propaganda on the territory of the Kalinin region during the Wolrd War II. This thorny subject has been hushed up for a long time by official historiography. It has been openly discussed since the 1990s when it immediately turned out polemical. It is this article that turns to documentary sources of the Kalinin region. The most imprtannt of these sources is the report of V. A. Dunaev who was at the head of the primary party organization at the Idritsky district level. The author discusses the methods of propaganda struggle against the accomplices of the occupation fashist regime and gives a high assessment of their effectiveness.

The theme of the Siberian adaptation experience of Polish agrarian voluntary immigrants at the turn of the 19th - 20th centuries is traditional for modern Polish-Russian historiography. There it is reviewed in the context of the impact of resettlement forms on the strategies of adaptation. Several variations of the adaptive strategies implemented in Polish ethnic villages (settlements with a significant proportion of Polish immigrants) and Polish families, which live separately in foreign ethnic communities (farm households) were identified. On the example of the settlement Minsk-Dvoryansk demonstrated the use of a resource of ethnicity in the adaptation process by immigrants. In the absence of a parental ethnic environment, the Poles preferred the neighborhood of Catholic immigrants or isolation in the form of a farm household.

The policy of the anti-Bolshevik authorities in Eastern Russia to stabilize finances and currency during the Civil War has already found worthy coverage in scientific works. However, in historiography, the practice of publishing sources on this issue has not been significantly developed. The document published by us reflects the position of the Special Chancellery for the credit part of the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Government on the discussion issue related to the introduction of new types of banknotes in Siberia. The work is addressed to a wide range of readers - researchers of the history of the Civil War in Russia, the anti-Bolshevik movement, international relations and the domestic financial and economic sphere in the specified period.
