The article reveals the problems of actual importance concerning the Argentinean pension scheme and government's attempts to reform it. The objective of the study is to highlight the process of Argentinean pension scheme transformation within the context of changes in its socioeconomic model in the 1990s. The methodological basis for the study lies in dialectic approach according to which reformation activity of current state is a way of resolving social conflicts, meeting the requirements of all members of society and harmonizing social relations. The reformation activity of the Argentinean state is described as an attempt to resolve the controversies of pension scheme and harmonize the interests of different social groups. Methods of analysis and synthesis, classification are applied in the study, as well as chronological, logical and descriptive methods. Scientific novelty of the study lies in the fact that it makes of the first attempts to study the preconditions, introduction and consequences of pension scheme reformation in Argentina within market transformations in the 1990s in its complexity. Conclusions reflect the main results of the study. It is noted that traditional solidarity pension scheme in Argentina did not cover the vast majority of citizens and featured the low level of retirement payments. The reasons for such situation were demographical situation (ageing of population, unfavorable demographic load) and peculiarities of socio-labor sphere. It is emphasized that a great number of Argentineans stay below the line of pension insurance due to high level of unemployment and informal employment. The specificity of transition process from state solidarity to integrated pension scheme is revealed, in the latter the advantage is provided to accumulating scheme managed by the private sector. Legal and regulatory instruments on pension scheme are analyzed. It is proved that the state of Argentineans' pension security did not benefit from pension reform, moreover, a number of pension depositors and payees lessened. The reasons for unsuccessful reform are defined. The contributions of depositors to pension funds were irregular due to high level of unemployment and a huge informal labor sector which involved nearly a half of able-bodied population, as well as economic stagnation at the end of the 1990s. A vast majority of depositors remained beyond the line of pension coverage as a result of introduction of high 30-year barrier as for obligatory pension contributions by the Law. The study comes to the conclusion that cancellation of reforms and reverting to the previous solidarity system managed exclusively by Argentina is more beneficial for the population. ; Стаття висвітлює актуальні проблеми аргентинської системи пенсійного забезпечення та спроби уряду країни її реформувати. Мета роботи – висвітлити процес перетворень пенсійної системи Аргентини в контексті зміни її соціально-економічної моделі у 90-і рр. ХХ ст. Методологічною основою роботи є діалектичний підхід, згідно з яким реформаторська діяльність сучасної держави є способом розв'язання соціальних конфліктів, задоволення потреб усіх членів суспільства та гармонізації суспільних відносин. Показано реформаційну діяльність аргентинської держави як спробу врегулювання протиріч системи пенсійного забезпечення та узгодження інтересів різних соціальних груп. Використано методи аналізу та синтезу, класифікації, а також хронологічний, логічний та описовий методи. Наукова новизна дослідження полягає у тому, що у роботі здійснено одну з перших спроб комплексного вивчення передумов, процесу та наслідків реформи пенсійного забезпечення в Аргентині в умовах ринкових перетворень 1990-х рр. Висновки відбивають основні результати дослідження. Показано, що традиційна солідарна пенсійна система в Аргентині не охоплювала пенсійним забезпеченням значну частину громадян і характеризувалася низькими розмірами пенсійних виплат. Причинами такого становища визначено демографічну ситуацію (старіння населення, несприятливе демографічне навантаження) та особливості соціально-трудової сфери. Виявлено, що через високий рівень безробіття та неформальної зайнятості значна частина аргентинців перебувала поза межами пенсійного страхування. Розкрито особливості переходу від державної солідарної до інтегрованої пенсійної системи, де перевага надавалася накопичувальній схемі, що управлялася приватним сектором. Проаналізовано нормативно-правові акти із пенсійного забезпечення. Доведено, що шляхом пенсійної реформи покращити стан пенсійної захищеності аргентинців не вдалося. Кількість вкладників і отримувачів пенсій зменшилася. Позначено причини неуспішності реформи. Через високе безробіття та величезний неформальний сектор, де працювала половина трудоактивного населення, а також через економічний спад кінця 1990-х рр. внески вкладників до пенсійних фондів були нерегулярними. Через запровадження Законом високого 30-річного бар'єру щодо обов'язкових пенсійних внесків значна частина вкладників опинилася поза межами пенсійного покриття. Як результат показано скасування реформи і повернення Аргентини до старої солідарної системи, що управляється винятково державою.

This cumulative thesis raises the overarching research question: How does fixed-term employment affect well-being? Three smaller, more specific research questions emerge from this primary research question. First, what are the short- and long-term effects of fixed-term employment for the well-being of individuals and couples? Second, what are the mechanisms explaining the effects of fixed-term employment on well-being? Third and eventually, how do these effects vary across gender and contexts, and what are explanations for (no) variations? An overview article and five articles, of which three are published in SSCI-listed journals, answer these research questions. In Article 1, I state three specific research questions: First, is there heterogeneity in the effect of fixed-term employment on well-being across countries? Second, are there mediation effects by the manifest and latent functions suggested by Jahoda's Latent Deprivation Model on the effect of fixed-term employment on well-being? Third, do different degrees of social cohesion across countries moderate these effects? I examine the effect of fixed-term employment on subjective well-being compared to unemployment (downwards comparison) and compared to permanent employment (upwards comparison). I utilize European Social Survey (ESS) data from 2012 for 23 countries and apply multilevel estimation procedures. Article 2 addresses two research questions: First, what are the effects of fixed-term employment trajectories, namely stepping stone, entrapment, and also in relation to long-term unemployment and stable permanent career, on subjective well-being? Second, how do these effects vary over time? I analyze these research questions using longitudinal data from the Socio-Economic Panel (SOEP) from 1994 to 2019 on labor market entrants. I apply a longer-term perspective on both the independent and the dependent variables. Article 3 takes up a couple's perspective on the effect of fixed-term employment on well-being. Here, my co-authors and I pose three research questions: First, what are the spillover effects of fixed-term employment on the well-being of partners? Second, are there differences in the spillover effects by gender and do these gendered differences vary by place of socialization? Third, does own well-being mediate the gendered effects and are individual effects mediated by perceived job insecurity and financial worries? Again, these research questions are examined using the SOEP, but for the period 1995–2017 and for heterosexual couples living together. In Article 4, my co-author and I examine a specific mediation pathway of fixed-term employment on well-being, namely wealth and, more precisely, housing. The three research questions addressed in this article are: First, how do couples' early career trajectories affect the probability of being homeowners later in life? Second, how do couples' early career trajectories affect the share of income spent on rent later in life? Third, does joint cumulative income mediate the effects of couples' early career trajectories on homeownership and the share of income couples spend on rent? As in Articles 2 and 3, this paper uses SOEP data, but this time from 1995 to 2018 for heterosexual couples between the ages of 18 and 38. Article 5 takes the longest-term perspective of the five articles on effects of insecure employment on well-being in later life and considers the family perspective more directly. This article asks the main research question: How do early and mid-life gendered work and family trajectories affect self-rated health in later life in West Germany and Italy? My co-author and I examine this research question using data from the Survey of Health, Aging and Retirement in Europe (SHARE) and, in particular, from the retrospective SHARELIFE survey which collects retrospective life course data in accordance with the life course framework. In summary, all five articles serve puzzle pieces to receive a more holistic picture of the effect of fixed-term employment on well-being. These puzzle pieces relate to the life course framework in different facets. All five articles show that fixed-term employment can have positive effects compared to unemployment. The findings are in favor of the integrational perspective on fixed-term employment contracts and contradict the notion that fixed-term employment traps individuals in lower labor market segments.

The article outlines the concept of public wealth as a part of national wealth that consists of resources, values and goods that belong to the whole society. The composition of public wealth is determined: public assets (property and values that are in state and communal ownership); potential public resources; social human capital. The expediency of dividing human capital into individual human capital (which concerns exclusively his private existence) and social human capital (in the sphere of collective interaction) is indicated.The necessity of the analysis of public wealth from the standpoint of assets is proved. It is stated that public property can be a liability for budgets, returning losses to the state and local government. The necessity of taking into account potential public resources (lands, forests, roads, subsoil) is substantiated. The paper attempts to estimate the public wealth in Ukraine and identifies it in excess of 10 annual GDP.It is pointed out that in Ukraine the relations of state-owned enterprises with suppliers, contractors and buyers often increase the cost and cut their revenues. This system is characterized as a process of flowing public wealth into private hands - the nationalization of losses and privatization of profits by business structures close to state-owned enterprises. It is argued that the streamlining of public wealth management should provide for maximum involvement in the economic turnover of natural resources, ensuring openness and creating market conditions, privatization and lease. The advantages of using best practices in the field of state property management by creating holding companies that represent the interests of taxpayers and carry out professional corporate asset management are shown. ; В статье обозначен концепт общественного богатства, как части национального богатства, находящегося за пределами частной сферы и состоящего из ресурсов, ценностей и благ, принадлежащих всему обществу. Определен состав общественного богатства: общественные активы (имущество и ценности, которые находятся в государственной и коммунальной собственности); потенциальные общественные ресурсы; социальный человеческий капитал. Указана целесообразность разграничения человеческого капитала на индивидуальный человеческий капитал отдельного лица (который касается исключительно ее частного существования) и социальный человеческий капитал (в сфере коллективного взаимодействия).Доказана необходимость анализа общественного богатства с позиций активов. Указано, что общественная собственность может выступать пассивом для бюджетов, возвращаясь убытками для государства и местного самоуправления. Обоснована необходимость взятия в расчет потенциальных общественных ресурсов (земель, лесов, дорог, недр). В работе предпринята попытка ориентировочной оценки общественного богатства в Украине и определен его объем в размере превышающем 10 ежегодных ВВП.Указано, что в Украине отношения государственных предприятий с поставщиками, подрядчиками и покупателями, нередко увеличивают себестоимость и подрезают их доходы. Эту систему обозначено как процесс перетекания общественного богатства в частные руки - национализации убытков и приватизации прибылей приближенными к государственным предприятиям бизнес структурами. Аргументировано, что упорядочение управления общественным богатством должно предусматривать максимальное привлечение в экономический оборот природных ресурсов, обеспечение открытости и создание рыночных условий, разгосударствление и передачу в аренду. Показаны преимущества использования передового опыта в сфере управления государственной собственностью путем создания холдинговых компаний, представляющих интересы налогоплательщиков и осуществляющих профессиональное корпоративное управление активами. ; У статті окреслено концепт суспільного багатства, як частини національного багатства, що знаходиться за межами приватної сфери і складається із ресурсів, цінностей та благ, що належать усьому суспільству. Визначено склад суспільного багатства: суспільні активи (майно та цінності, які знаходяться у державній і комунальній власності); потенційні суспільні ресурси; соціальний людський капітал. Зазначено доцільність розмежування людського капіталу на індивідуальний людський капітал окремої особи (який стосується виключно її приватного існування) та соціальний людський капітал (у сфері колективної взаємодії).Доведено необхідність аналізу суспільного багатства із позицій активів. Вказано, що суспільна власність може виступати пасивом для бюджетів, повертаючись збитками для держави та місцевого самоврядування. Обґрунтовано необхідність взяття у розрахунок потенційних суспільних ресурсів (земель, лісів, доріг, надр). У роботі здійснено спробу орієнтовної оцінки суспільного багатства в Україні і визначено його в обсязі, що перевищує 10 щорічних ВВП. Вказано, що в Україні відносини державних підприємств із постачальниками, підрядниками та покупцями, нерідко збільшують собівартість і підрізають їх доходи. Цю систему характеризовано як процес перетікання суспільного багатства до приватних рук – націоналізацію збитків та приватизацію прибутків наближеними до державних підприємств бізнес структурами. Аргументовано, що впорядкування управління суспільним багатством має передбачати максимальне залучення у економічний оборот природних ресурсів, забезпечення відкритості та створення ринкових умов, роздержавлення та передачу в оренду. Показано переваги використання передового досвіду в сфері управління державною власністю шляхом створення холдингових компаній, які представляють інтереси платників податків і здійснюють професійне корпоративне управління активами.

The article considers the phenomenon of clientelism in the processes of modeling systems of political representation. The historical stages of its formation and functioning are outlined. Its specificity as a political and psychological phenomenon is singled out. It is proved that the growing specialization and institutionalization of political activity in democratic societies has not stopped clientelistic practices, despite their archaic nature and inconsistency with the ethical principles of the democratic ideal. The relevance of clientelism is explained by its deep psychological nature. Clientelism is always based on personalized exchanges and tools of influence, and clientelism is a community based on the psychological compatibility of members' materially and emotionally dependent from the leader, and operates in the basis of their unconditional subordination. It is substantiated that at the present stage clientelism is more widespread at the local level of politics. The characteristics of the local political regime are given. It is shown that local political clienteles are constructed on the principle of a hierarchical network. In wich the role of privileged "patrons" are formal institutions of power, and dependent "clients" (various interest groups) try to influence decision-making through indirect mechanisms of unequal exchange. In such a situation, the main tool for ensuring the dominant position oflocal government is an administrative resource. The specificity of local clientelism is most evident in transitional societies. In particular, the rich factual material for the analysis of clientelism as a social, economic, political and psychological phenomenon gives us a post-Soviet space. It is shown that in the period of systemic transformations, the clientele can be acceptable as a "transitional" model of political representation, because of its temporality it will contribute to the consolidation of local government, local elites and the community. However, if the clientele is not replaced by a more institutionalized system of political roles, it can significantly hamper democratic transit. Based on the political and psychological analysis of clientelistic relations, it is noted that they are not antagonistic to democracy and generally do not contradict the bureaucratic logic of its political and administrative institutions. Although formal notions of legitimate forms of interest representation in politics discredit clien-telism, this phenomenon should be considered as part of the political structure of representative democracies because of its psychological nature. ; У статті розглянуто явище клієнтелізму у розрізі процесів моделювання систем представництва інтересів в політиці. Окреслено історичні етапи його становлення та функціонування. Виокремлено його специфіку як політико-психологічного феномену. Доведено, що, зростаюча спеціалізація та інституалізація політичної діяльності у демократичних суспільствах не припинила клієнтелістичних практик, не зважаючи на їх архаїчність та невідповідність етичним принципам демократичного ідеалу. Актуальність клієнтелізму пояснюється його глибинною психологічною природою. Клієнтелізм завжди грунтується на персоналізованих обмінах та інструментах впливу, а клієнтела представляє собою спільноту, яка базується на психологічній сумісності матеріально та емоційно залежних від лідера членів, і функціонує на основі їх безумовного підпорядкування. Обгрунтовано, що на сучасному етапі клієнтелізм здебівльшого знаходить благодатний грунт на локальному рівні політики. Дана характеристика локального політичного режиму. Показано, що локальні політичні клієнтели будуються за принципом вертикальної мережи, в якій в ролі привілейованих «патронів» виступають формальні інститути влади, а залежні від них «клієнти» (різноманітні групи інтересів) намагаються впливати на прийняття рішень через опосередковані механізми нерівноцінного обміну в умовах монополії на доступ до ресурсів. У такій ситуації головним інструментом забезпечення панівних позицій місцевої влади стає адміністративний ресурс. Найбільш наочно специфіка локального клієтелізму проявляється у перехідних суспільствах. Зокрема багатий фактологічний матеріал для аналізу клієнтелізму як соціального, економічного, політичного явища та психологічного феномену надає нам пострадянській простір. Показано, що в період системних трансформацій, клієн-тела може бути прийнятною як «перехідна» модель представництва інтересів в політиці, адже за умов її тимчасовості сприятиме консолідації місцевої влади, місцевих еліт та громади. Втім якщо на зміну клієнтелі не прийде більш інституціалізована система політичних ролей, це може значно загальмувати демократичний транзит. На основі політико-психологічного аналізу відносин клієнтелістичного типу відзначено, що вони не є антагоністичними демократії та не перебувають у повному протиріччі з бюрократичною логікою її політико-адміністративних інституцій. І хоча офіційні уявлення про легітимні форми представництва інтересів в політиці призводять до дискредитації клієнтелізму і, через це, телепортують його в сфери неофіційних коридорів влади, дане явище залишається структурованою частиною представницьких демократій у силу його психологічної природи.

Migration has become one of the most current themes in the reality of Georgian society since the destruction of the Soviet Union. However, this process dates backs to the twentieth century in the history of Georgian migration. Wars, chaos and turmoil, geopolitical location, and social and political conflicts constantly triggered the population to migrate either within the country or abroad. The most recent history of Georgian migration can be divided into several waves or phases: 1. Before the 1950s (Soviet Union regime), when the population was forced to leave their living place by brutal political repressions; 2. In the period of the 1950s to the 1990s, when Georgians migrated within the territory of the Soviet Union Republic; 3. The mass migration of the 1990s, which was caused by social crisis, economic hardship, political turmoil, military conflicts (including inter-ethnic conflicts in Abkhazia (1992–1993) and South Ossetia (1988–1992) and the civil war of 1993, against the democratically elected Georgian president Zviad Gamsakhurdia; 4. The later migration outflow from Georgia was mainly recorded in 2000, when a huge wave of migrants went to Russia but, as the visa regime had been restricted, Georgian citizens had to choose another destination. This time migrants headed to European countries and the USA. It has to be mentioned that since 2002, the emigration process has become more and more diverse as the motivation of migrants varied as well as the places of destination. Unfortunately, the data that reflects the precise picture of migration in Georgia does not exist. Even the official data cannot be acknowledged as accurate information about the migrants or migration because of the absence of a precise mechanism that collects reliable statistical information. According to the EU policy, a future-proof broadband supply for all European households is to be achieved by 2025. There is already a wide range of fibre deployment in Europe. However, the expansion of fibre-based access networks in Europe to date has taken place mainly in large cities. In other areas, the expansion is sluggish or non-existent. As a result, a digital divide between urban and rural areas in Europe is arising. The spatial disparity in fibre roll-out is often justified by market stake holders with significant regional cost differences. In the absence of private-sector investment, government subsidy programmes are often used to improve broadband coverage. Thus, politicians have to deal with the question about the level of investment required and the spatial distribution of subsidy needs. In this paper, we will therefore investigate the question of how significant the heterogeneity in the costs of Very High Capacity (VHC) networks in Germany actually is and whether and how the costs for Very High Capacity (VHC) networks differ between urban and rural regions. In the first part of the paper, we will analyse the regional cost differences of access network areas on the basis of bottom-up calculated investment figures. In the second part of the paper, we establish statistical estimation models that explain these regional cost differences. For this purpose, we use publicly available data. As a reference value for regionally differentiated costs of Very High Capacity (VHC) access networks, we use the results of a detailed bottom-up modelling of an FTTH network carried out for the whole of Germany. The model uses georeferenced household and business location data and optimizes the access network routes along the street network in a bottom-up manner. This model allows us to determine regionally differentiated FTTH investment at the level of access areas. By matching this data with the EU-wide standardized EUROSTAT urban/rural typology classification (predominantly urban, intermediate and predominantly rural), we determine whether and to which extent significant regional cost differences can be found in Germany applying these classifications. One focus is on determining the spread of investment requirements, especially among rural areas. Based on our experience, these areas exhibit the lowest economic viability of a network roll-out and, thus, the highest need for funding. By using statistical indicators, we analyse the suitability of the EUROSTAT classification as a differentiation criterion for regional cost differences. Here, we are particularly interested in whether the areas defined as rural form a sufficiently homogeneous group, and whether they show comparable levels of required investment. Our findings confirm that the differentiation criterion used, namely EUROSTAT urban/rural typology classification, is not satisfactory in measuring regional cost differences. It cannot sufficiently account for a large share of observable differences in fibre-based access network costs. Since it is desirable to answer questions regarding the required funding for selected regions based on publicly available data, we apply regression models to identify alternative influencing factors on the basis of publicly available data, in order to better explain observable regional cost differences. Here, we find that a handful of geographical factors are capable of explaining 95% of the geographical differences in fibre investment requirements, the most relevant being the number of connection lines, the number of households per kilometre of road in built-up areas, the main road length per built-up area and the share of built-up area in relation to overall area. In the last part of the analysis, we examine whether the derived results are also meaningful in a political and regulatory context. Discussions about the necessity of promoting high-speed networks usually take place at the level of local authorities. Therefore, in a final step, we address the question whether the statistical relationships derived from the regression model at the level of access areas also apply at a higher aggregated, i.e. NUTS3, level. In summary, we show that for Germany, classifications based on subscriber density exhibit a significant spread in the investment costs of Very High Capacity (VHC) access networks, which is most pronounced in rural clusters. Statistical analyses using regression models can improve the result if geographical elements of the settlement structure are considered in the analysis.

Digital ; La pandemia generada por la Covid-19 llevó a declarar a Colombia en un estado de emergencia económica, social y ecológica en todo el territorio nacional, esta situación afectó considerablemente al sector inmobiliario; El Gobierno Nacional Colombiano, para mitigar su impacto, promulgó dos decretos legislativos como medidas transitorias durante el 2020 para el mismo sector. Las precisiones anteriores dan origen al presente proyecto que se desarrolló a través de una metodología que aplica investigación de tipo exploratoria y descriptiva, con criterio cuantitativo, cuyo objetivo es analizar y caracterizar el comportamiento de los servicios de arriendo habitacional y comercial de abril a octubre de 2020 en el departamento de Santander. La presente investigación presenta las características del comportamiento del sector inmobiliario, en la cual se mostrarán datos con relación a los empleados despedidos, contratos laborales modificados, contratos de arriendo suscritos con contrato de fianza o con póliza de seguro, contratos objetados por las afianzadoras o aseguradoras, contratos que suscribieron acuerdos de pago y cuántos de ellos lo cumplieron, así como la cancelación, terminación anticipada y modificación de los mismos, entre muchas otros datos que permiten obtener dicha información del sector inmobiliario en Santander. Jeden Tag treffen Individuen unterschiedliche Entscheidungen, die ihre individuellen und sozialen Präferenzen widerspiegeln. Bis vor nicht allzu langer Zeit standen die individuellen Präferenzen im Mittelpunkt der ökonomischen Theorie. Jetzt werden auch soziale Präferenzen bei der Modellierung von Entscheidungen berücksichtigt, da das Bild des rein maximierenden Individuums obsolet geworden ist. Dennoch messen und verallgemeinern die meisten der veröffentlichten Studien immer noch soziale und individuelle Präferenzen von Individuen, die in westlichen, gebildeten, industrialisierten, reichen und demokratischen (WEIRD) Ländern leben. Diese Arbeit trägt zur Literatur bei, indem sie soziale und individuelle Präferenzen mit nicht-WEIRD Probandenpools erforscht und diese Präferenzen mit Verhaltensweisen außerhalb des experimentellen, kontrollierten Settings in Verbindung bringt. Diese Dissertation besteht aus vier verschiedenen Kapiteln an der Schnittstelle von Entwicklungs- und Verhaltensökonomie. Wir finden, dass antisoziale Verhaltensweisen prosoziale Verhaltensweisen verdrängen und dass Personen, die Kriminalität ausgesetzt sind, sich im Experiment eher antisozial verhalten. Darüber hinaus finden wir einen Zusammenhang zwischen Kriminalität und Verratsaversions-Einstellungen. Wir finden, dass das Hören von Botschaften, die als imperativ-egoistisch gerahmt sind, effektiv dazu führt, dass Beiträge für die Umwelt geleistet werden. Kapitel 5 steht im Zusammenhang mit der Arbeitsmarktbeteiligung. In diesem Kapitel zeigen wir, dass weibliche Vorbilder die Bereitschaft, in den Arbeitsmarkt einzutreten, sowohl bei weiblichen als auch bei männlichen Studenten erhöhen, dass aber männliche Vorbilder die Frauen dazu bringen, sich auf wettbewerbsfähigere Stellen zu bewerben. Beide Studien liefern wichtige Grundlagen für die praktische Anwendung in Politik und Gesellschaft. ; Every day individuals make different decisions that reflect their individual and social preferences. Until not long ago, individual preferences were at the center of the economic theory. Now, social preferences are also considered in the modeling of decision-making as the image of the pure maximizing individual has become obsolete. Yet, most of the published studies still measure and generalize social and individual preferences from individuals living in Western, Educated, Industrialized, Rich and Democratic (WEIRD) countries. This thesis contributes to the literature by exploring social and individual preferences with non-WEIRD subject pools and by linking such preferences to behaviors outside of the experimental controlled setting. This dissertation consists of four different chapters at the intersection of development and behavioral economics. Each chapter explains the motivation, experimental designs and results of the research project. They also include a discussion and valuable elements for future research a policymaking. The chapters part of this dissertation have in common that they are based on experimental data collected in northeastern Madagascar from vanilla farmers and students. In the study region not only quantitative methods were in place, but also qualitative methods such as focus group discussions and participatory methods. They enrich the content and discussion of each of the chapters. Chapters 2 and 3 explore anti-social behaviors and betrayal aversion attitudes which are also linked to crime exposure. Crime is an important challenge in the study region, and hence it is interesting to analyze how crime can affect preferences and behaviors. We find that anti-social behaviors crowd out prosocial behaviors and that individuals expose to crime are likely to behave anti-social in the experiment. Moreover, we find a relation between crime and betrayal aversion attitudes. Yet, we do not find evidence for betrayal aversion attitudes as other papers have shown, nor we can link such attitudes to the production and commercialization decisions of farmers. Chapters 4 and 5 are related to the effects of information provision on preferences and subsequently, on behavior. Both Chapter 4 and 5 provide evidence from experiments in which subjects receive information in the form of audios or videos and thereafter we explore their decision-making. Chapter 4 is related to the topic of environmental conservation. We find that listening to messages framed as imperative-egoistic are effective in driving contributions for the environment. Chapter 5 is related to labor market participation. In this chapter we show that female role models increase the willingness to enter the labor market for both female and male students, but that male role models persuade females in applying for more competitive jobs. In general, both studies are blueprint for scaling up policies. ; 2021-08-03

Western European cultural policies increasingly target marginalized and socially deprived communities. In Denmark, this happens in the political and discursive context of the so-called "ghetto act" – a set of laws and amendments from 2018 aimed at radically changing low-income public housing neighborhoods, designated as "ghettos" or "tough ghettos" on the basis of five criteria, including the percentage of "non-Western" immigrants and descendants. Consequential, several Danish public housing neighborhoods right now undergo drastic renovation and demolition and simultaneously face increasing stigmatization. Formally independent of but parallel to this, we witness an interest in the residents of the same neighborhoods from cultural governing bodies and institutions, and an initiation of a variety of publicly funded projects in arts and culture. These are part of a general strategy to reach new audiences/user groups by recognizing and underpinning art manifestations outside the formal art institutions and closer to the citizens. But they are also part of a more specific betterment agenda based on the assumption that the deprived social housing areas and their residents can be "elevated" through art (Kunstfonden 2019) and that engagement in cultural projects can counteract isolation and prevent the formation of "parallel societies" (Minister of culture Mette Bock, 2019). The article builds upon research carried out in the project "Citizen-near art in deprived social housing areas" (2019-21) by Anne Mette W. Nielsen, Mia Falch Yates and the authors. The project is part of an overall research program on "Art and social communities", funded by The Danish Arts Foundation and Arts Council Norway. In the research project we study art projects in the following four Danish social housing areas: Gellerup in Aarhus, Stengårdsvej in Esbjerg, Værebro Park in Gladsaxe and Vollsmose in Odense. The research includes observations, interviews and document analysis of policy documents, project applications, minutes from public meetings and more (Eriksson, Nielsen, Sørensen and Yates, in press). Based on our research, we introduce the history and emotional geographies of the areas and the social and cultural policies targeting them to constitute a triple exposure of social inequality, stigmatization and intervention. We further suggest a typology of art projects with each their way of establishing socio-aesthetic relations in the present cultural and political context: 1) permanent physical interventions, 2) temporary (re)makings of the neighborhood, 3) creative skills and agency, and 4) co-inhabitations. In the article, we present cases from each of the four types and outline how they relate to the socio-economic agendas. From the perspective of Chantal Mouffe's notions of antagonistic politics and dissensual artistic practices, we explore a range of public art projects in four selected social housing areas, and identify four different types of art projects: 1) permanent physical interventions, 2) temporary (re)makings of the neighbourhood, 3) reinforcement of creative skills and agency, and 4) co-inhabitation. Presenting cases from each of these four types, we outline their challenges and potentials. Finally, we discuss how they fit into and/or negotiate the "betterment" agenda and the seemingly neutral vision of the mixed, balanced, or creative city.

Corruption is a violation of social rights and economic rights of the community so that corruption can be classified as an extraordinary crime (extra-ordinary crimes). Therefore, its eradication must also be carried out in an extraordinary manner (extra-enforcement). Since the enactment of Law No. 6 of 2014 concerning Villages, villages have been given the authority to manage finances independently. This has only happened since 72 years of Indonesia's independence. On the other hand, this authority is certainly not easy, especially since it has only been three years since the village has learned to manage finances and development independently and self-managed. Along with that, since 2015, 2016 and 2017, various problems have occurred. Conflicts between community groups develop. On the other hand, social relations are tenuous. The potential for conflict is not only triggered by a lack of apparatus resources in managing village finances, but also due to minimal morality and increasing public suspicion due to a lack of transparency, the management of village funds provided by the government is often corrupted by irresponsible elements starting with budget inflation, budget abuse, fictitious projects and fictitious financial reports, here the author wants to see how the opportunities and challenges of eradicating corruption in the field of village fund management are. Di sisi yang lain, kewenangan ini tentu tidak mudah, apalagi baru tiga tahun desa belajar mengelola keuangan dan pembangunan secara mandiri dan swakelola. Potensi konflik bukan hanya saja dipicu oleh kurangnya sumber daya aparatur dalam pengelolaan keuangan desa, tapi juga akibat moralitas yang minim serta kecurigaan masyarakat meningkat akibat kurangnya transparansi, pengelolaan dana desa yang diberi oleh pemerintah sering kali dikorupsi oleh oknum-oknum yang tidak bertangung jawab mulai dengan penggelembungan anggaran, penyalahgunaan anggaran, Proyek Fiktif dan laporan keuangan yang fiktif, disini penulis ingin melihat bagaimana peluang dan tantangan pemberantasan korupsi dibidang pengelolaan dana desa. Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian yuridis normatif. Pendekatan masalah yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini meliputi pendekatan undang-undang (statute approach), pendekatan konseptual (conceptual approach) dan pendekatan kasus (case approach). Pengelolaan dana desa sering kali dikorupsi oleh oknum-oknum tidak bertanggung jawab , hal ini dikarenakan kurangnya pengawasan dan moralitas oleh oknum-oknumm kepala desa yang tidak bertanggung jawab hal ini membuka peluang untuk melakukan tindak pidana korupsi oleh kepala desa sebab dana yang digelotorkan oleh negara untuk masing-masing desa sekitar hampir Rp. 1.684.270.802.200.- demi kesejahteraan desa tersebut, namun dana tersebut sering kali diselewengkan dengan melakukan praktik penyalahgunaan anggaran , penggelapan, laporan fiktif, kegiatan/proyek fiktif, dan penggelembungan anggaran. Tantangan saat ini dalam pengelolaan dana desa oleh pemerintah dan aparat penegak hukum semakin berat hal ini dikarenakan masih banyak nya oknum-oknum kepala desa yang tidak mengerti tentang kegunaan dana desa yag sesungguhnya untuk kedepannya diharapkan pengawasan lebih diperketat dalam dan penggunaan, pengelolaan dana desa, tidak ada lagi kerugian negara akibat tindak pidana korupsi. Over the past hundred years, the secularization thesis has allowed religion to be left aside when analyzing economic development, evolution of political regimes, or, for example, the peculiarities of state structure in any country. But today religion is becoming an increasingly significant force, the church is regaining its lost positions. Scientists have counted four stages of desecularization, the last of which began on September 11, 2001 and has been continuing to this day. The World Wide Web has challenged the Church by creating an otherworldly (surreal or virtual) world. And the church humbly accepted its existence, just as it recognized the presence of a man in space, next to God. And all this follows one goal— to be close to the own flock. The massive fascination of people with computers, gadgets and the virtual world, including believers, led the Church to understand the obvious fact: the virtualization of being is a long process and can become useful. Using the examples of religious organizations activity on the Internet, the question is investigated: what will ultimately result in their presence in the virtual world— in a person's cognition of a new (digital) formation in order to effectively keep it in his bosom, or will it become a reason for a new wave of desecularization in the post­industrial world? The analysis of the content of the sites of the main confessions in Ukraine showed a more secular nature of the activities of religious organizations in comparison with the time before the emergence of the Internet. Their relations with all spheres— government, business, army, society have become public and stronger. The author came to the conclusion that the Church, as the personification of the main confessions, accepted virtual reality as a fact because believers have loved it. For the first time in the history of the Church, the attitude to a new phenomenon— virtual space— was dictated to her by believers. 2. In pre­Internet history, the Church fought for the "souls" of people. With the adoption of virtual space, human brains became its target. Using information technologies, computers, gadgets, smartphones and virtual space, the Church is fighting to remain an influential force in our time. 3. The content of the sites of religious organizations in Ukraine reflects a different level of trust (internal resistance, self­censorship) to the World Wide Web. They can be conditionally divided into three types. The first one— organizations fill websites like personal diaries, inspiring confidence with texts and illustrations of the church life of priests and parishioners. The second one— organizations use websites only for posting sermons, information about holidays, rituals, testimonies of a righteous life and so on. The third type of sites is a business card, which only declares the presence of an organization on the Internet: information about the chapter, about the organization, the schedule of current events and contact information. Accordingly, the first type has the highest traffic (site traffic), the latter has the lowest. 4. Common to all of them (with the exception of the UOC­MP) is the attitude towards the armed conflict in the East of the country (support for the institution of chaplaincy, guardianship of family members of military personnel who died in the combat zone, support of civilians that are suffering from hostilities, etc.) and to the unification of Orthodox communities into a single local church— the OCU (with the exception of the UOC­MP and the UOC­KP). ; Висловлено твердження, згідно з яким упродовж більше ста років теза про секуляризації дозволяла виносити релігію за дужки під час аналізу економічного розвитку, еволюції політичних режимів або, наприклад, особливостей того чи іншого державного устрою. Але наразі релігія стає дедалі більш значущою силою, церква повертає втрачені позиції. Дослідники виокремили чотири етапи десекуляризації, останній з яких розпочався 11вересня 2001 р. і триває понині. Процесам десекуляризації сприяє масове захоплення людей комп'ютерами, гаджетами і віртуальним світом; зокрема йдеться і про вірян, що змусило Церкву зрозуміти очевидний факт: віртуалізація буття буде тривалою і може стати корисною. На прикладах діяльності релігійних організацій в Інтернеті досліджується питання: у що зрештою виллється їх присутність у віртуальному світі— пізнання людини нової (цифрової) формації з метою подальшого ефективного утримання її у своєму лоні або ж привід для нової хвилі десекуляризації в постіндустріальному світі.

The Ukrainian version of this article is the result of a thesis defended at Cambridge University (UK) for a master's degree in international relations by a British journalist of Ukrainian descent Yuri Bender. The thesis was supervised by Dr. Rory Finnin, Associate Professor of Ukrainian Studies at the University of Cambridge. The author examines the events in eastern Ukraine that led to the secession of the socalled Donetsk People's Republic and Luhansk People's Republic and their further attempts to function as separate autonomous regions (statelets). This study is based not so much on an analysis of a large scope of scientific literature published in the West in recent years, but primarily on the results of the author's several trips to eastern Ukraine before and after the Russian-Ukrainian war. The inability to visit self-proclaimed statelets, the so-called DPR and LPR, made it impossible to hold interviews in controlled by non-governmental organizations areas, with the exception of telephone conversations. However, the author conducted more than 40 semi-structured interviews with elites as well as members of the general public, with particular emphasis on 'giving voice' to ordinary Ukrainians disenfranchised by a political and media system dominated by oligarchical interests. These voices, several of them featured in this article, will be crucial in determining the future of Ukraine, just as they have shaped recent and long-term history. The research is based on a study of the impact of the economy and the identity of the population, supported by Moscow's foreign policy in the "near abroad" countries. The key economic factors of the temporary separation of the "statelets" took place against the background of changes in identity and elitist behavior. The study of these issues is vital in determining whether "republics" have a long-term autonomous future. The reality is that nowadays migrants are increasingly leaving Donbas instead of entering. The most enterprising and educated citizens, who demonstrate the strongest manifestations of identity – the very type needed to create an effective state – are more likely to leave. The events in Donbas are viewed through theoretical prisms, including the "Wild Field" by historian Hiroaki Kuromiya, challenged by oligarchs, criminal groups, and political clans; and the Euro-Asian "heartland" of the geographer Halford Mackinder, who historically fought and defended the eastern and western states. Based on his own interviews conducted during repeated trips to Ukraine, the author seeks to contribute to the discussion on the future trajectory of Ukraine's troubled eastern border areas and shed light on their recent past. ; Українськомовний варіант цієї статті став вислідом захищеної в Кембриджському університеті (Велика Британія) дисертації на ступінь магістра міжнародних відносин британським журналістом українського походження Юрієм Бендером. Дисертація виконувалася під керівництвом доктора Рорі Фінніна – доцента катедри українознавства Кембриджського університету. Автор досліджує події на Сході України, що призвели до відокремлення так званих Донецької Народної Республіки та Луганської Народної Республіки та їхні подальші спроби функціонувати як окремі автономні регіони. Дослідження це зроблене не стільки на основі аналізу значного масиву наукової літератури, що з'явилася у світ на Заході за останні роки, а передусім за результатами власних кількох поїздок автора на східні терени України до й після початку російсько-української війни. Неможливість відвідати самопроголошені державні об'єкти, так звані ДНР і ЛНР, унеможливила проведення бесід у контрольованих неурядовими організаціями районах, за винятком телефонних розмов. Однак автор провів понад 40 напівструктурованих інтерв'ю з елітарними представниками, а також представниками широкої української громадськості. Особливий акцент був спрямований на «надання голосу» простим українцям, які позбавлені права голосу політичною та медіасистемою, у яких панують та домінують олігархічні інтереси. Ці голоси, деякі представлені в цій статті, матимуть вирішальне значення для визначення майбутнього України, так як вони сформували недавню й довгострокову історію. Дослідження базується на вивченні впливу економіки та ідентичності населення, підкріплених зовнішньою політикою Москви в країнах «ближнього зарубіжжя». Ключові економічні чинники тимчасового відокремлення «автономних регіонів» відбувалися на тлі зміни ідентичності та елітарної поведінки. Вивчення цих питань є життєво важливим для визначення того, чи мають «республіки» довгострокове автономне майбутнє. Події на Донбасі розглядається через теоретичні призми, включаючи «Дике поле» історика Гіроакі Куромії, оскаржуване олігархами, злочинними угрупуваннями і політичними кланами; та євроазіатський «Хартленд» географа Халфорда Макіндера, що історично боровся та відстоював східні та західні держави. Спираючись на власні інтерв'ю, проведені під час неодноразових поїздок до України, автор прагне зробити свій внесок у дискусію щодо майбутньої траєкторії проблемних східних прикордонних територій України та пролити світло на їхнє недавнє минуле.

The HaSpaD projects does not distribute own datasets. Instead, the HaSpaD syntax package allows to harmonize and pool all German surveys with partnership biographical data which are available for secondary use via a research data repository. Data access to these source data must be arranged autonomously by users of the HaSpaD syntax. The scripts harmonize and pool the partnership biographical data, as well as additional variables on respondents and their partnerships. These include, for example, gender, religious affiliation, and nationality of the respondents. The pooled data set provides the opportunity to analyse previously unanswered questions on marriage and partnership stability from a historical and life course theoretical perspective, in particular on the long-term increase in divorce rates and on social changes in risk factors for separation. In addition, methodological developments of research syntheses will be facilitated.

HaSpaD stellt keine eigenen Datensätze zum Download zur Verfügung. Stattdessen ermöglicht das HaSpaD-Syntaxpaket die Verknüpfung aller thematisch relevanten verfügbaren deutschen Umfragedaten, die zur Sekundärnutzung über ein Forschungdatenrepositorium bereitgestellt werden. Der Datenzugang zu diesen Ursprungsdaten muss separat durch Nutzende der HaSpaD-Syntax erfolgen. Die Skripte ermöglichen die Harmonisierung und Kumulation der paarbiografischen Daten aus den verschiedenen Umfrageprogrammen. Außerdem werden harmonisierte Zusatzvariablen an die paarbiografischen Daten angefügt. Hierzu zählen beispielsweise Geschlecht, Konfessionszugehörigkeit und Staatsangehörigkeit. Durch die Verknüpfung werden Analysen zu bislang unbeantwortetem Fragen zu Ehe- und Partnerschaftsstabilität aus historischer und lebensverlaufstheoretischer Perspektive, insbesondere zum langfristigen Anstieg der Scheidungsraten und zum sozialen Wandel von Risikofaktoren für Trennungen möglich. Darüber hinaus werden Untersuchungen methodischen Weiterentwicklung von Forschungssynthesen vereinfacht.
