In the fourth chapter of the book "The economy of the common good", the nature of economics as a science and research practices in their theoretical and empirical aspects are discussed. The author considers the processes of modeling, empirical verification of models and evaluation of research quality. In addition, the features of economic cognition and the role of mathematics in economic research are analyzed, including the example of relevant research in game theory and information theory.

The paper analyzes trends in the development of the creative economy in Russia and estimates the export potential of the Russian creative industries. The author demonstrates that modern concepts of cultural heritage preservation focus on increasing the efficiency of its use and that building creative potential and systematic support of the creative industries are becoming a key task of the strategic development of regions and municipalities in the post-industrial era.

The etiology of addiction includes complex biopsychosocial factors, but conceptualizing addiction as a result of an attachment disorder and consequent relational dysfunction gives psychotherapists a way to understand and treat addictions. This article presents this conceptualization and argues for the use of psychodrama and psychodrama action techniques in the treatment of addictive psychopathology. The author explores, in particular, the use of the empty-chair technique, presenting five common roles useful for our work.

The author also pays attention to the role of investment in the formation of a new world order, new methods for calculating macroeconomic and other indicators and global problems that impede further development.

Abstract: This paper analyses the challenges of building the Welfare State in late democracies in Latin America. The author shows how the literature has identified different social protection patterns in the region and how recent reform models have transformed institutions, in an unfavorable socioeconomic context. The results point to the emergence of a mixture of social protection measures that have increased coverage and reduced poverty, but are unable to guarantee universal citizens' rights and longevity.
