The article discusses career biographies of officials of the forestry department and forestry faculty of the Siberian Institute of Agriculture. Based on materials from directories, archival documents, the press, specialized publications and scientific literature, the author provides data on the level of training of forestry figures and their contribution to the development of the industry, including organizational and teaching activities at the Forestry Department of the Siberian Institute.

The article is concerned with the government policy in the field of publication of scientific origins connected with activities of Russian Historical association in Moscow University. The government activity in scientific sphere was connected with ideology. Ministry of enlightenment tried to prohibit publication of 'harmful' books. The author concludes that government interference into scientific affairs could not be unlimited. Russian university scientists protested against administrative influence into development of science and publication of historical sources.

The review deals with the analysis of the monograph devoted to the influence of Christian understanding of the phenomenon of miracle on the views of English seventeenth-century philosophers Thomas Hobbes and John Locke. The reviewer's attention is focused on the way the author of the monograph describes the spiritual atmosphere in which the world view of these thinkers developed, as well as on the historiographical interpretations of their theories.

The contribution to the history and theory of the cooperative movement by the outstanding Russian scientist V. F. Totomianz, author of numerous works, encyclopedic essays on the history and theory of international and Russian cooperation. The practical participation of the Totomianz in the work of cooperative congresses, which determined the direction of development of Russian cooperation, is analyzed. Particular attention is paid to teaching, research and advocacy in Russia and in exile.

The article discusses the attitudinal and philosophical premises of impressionism as a literary movement. The author explores the causes of difficulties associated with identifying literary works as impressionistic. The paper then explores the reasons for the shift in the attitudinal and philosophical conceptualization of impressionism from rationalist positivism to irrationalist trends in the "philosophy of life". The conclusion discusses the impact of the philosophical basis of impressionism on the character of its poetics.

Abstract
This is a translation of an article which appeared in 1928 in the journal Red Virgin Soil (Krasnaya nov) founded by Aleksandr Voronsky. Its author, the Russian Marxist Fedor Kapelusz, makes use of the now largely-ignored book of Algie Simons, Social Forces in American History (1911). In comparing America's past to its present, Kapelusz offers a sharp political assessment and at the same time a contribution to the materialist conception of American history.

It's been 50 years since Milton Friedman's world changing article which argued the only social responsibility of business is to increase profits. Since the Great Financial Crisis, that view has been increasingly challenged. On this anniversary, we revisit Friedman's legacy with New Yorker staff writer and author of "Transaction Man", Nick Lemann. Together, we explain what Friedman got right and what he got wrong about shareholder vs stakeholder capitalism.

For the first time in historiography, the article examines the nature of the political views and political ritual of Nicholas II and the correlation of these factors, which had a decisive influence on the internal political situation of the Russian Empire in the late 19th - early 20th centuries. The author comes to the conclusion that in modernizing societies, political rituals do not so much reveal, but hide the true political views of the modernizing ruler.

The publishing activity of the journal «Solovyov studies» is considered in the context of the problems of preservation and research of V.S. Solovyov's philosophical, literary and journalistic legacy. The article provides an assessment of the place and role of the journal in the development of research on the history of Russian philosophy. The author points to the need for systematic activities to preserve the memory of V.S. Solovyov as the greatest Russian philosopher.

Abstract

The Roots of Prescription in Classical Roman Law: While it is widely presumed that prescription did not exist in Classical Roman Law, the author intends to show that, within certain areas of law, prescription was already in existence in Augustan times. The praescriptio temporis was used in penal and civil procedure alike and was submitted during preliminary proceedings. The most prominent prescription, the praescriptio longi temporis, stemmed from Roman fiscal law and potentially originated in Flavian times.

Abstract
The author explores how current disciplinary conditions force trans studies against queer theory: Because queer theory is the institutional context through which trans studies is invited into the university, it is also the containing ideological architecture against which trans studies must articulate itself. Trans studies is therefore pressed "against" queer theory as a discursive surface in a manner that limits it from being able to exit this disciplinary scenario.

The author discusses Chris Hann's book Repatriating Polanyi, as a good opportunity for remembering Karl Polanyi's character and output. In their time, Polanyi's ideas about human economies were widely discussed in the social sciences, including in economic anthropology, and had a considerable impact on them. The text deals with those themes of Polanyi's work that Hann addresses, that is, the question of forms of economic integration and his concept of double movement.

The article proposes a rationale to expand the concept of humanitarian diplomacy. Based on scientific research, the author proposes to escape from a narrow understanding of humanitarian diplomacy as providing humanitarian assistance and assistance to vulnerable groups of the population. An attempt is made to form a single umbrella concept of diplomacy, which would include all types of modern diplomacy that are aimed at protecting a person, his values of ideals.
