โลกาภิวัตน์ได้ส่งผลกระทบด้านเศรษฐกิจ สังคม การเมือง และวัฒนธรรม การปรับตัวเพื่อรองรับการเปลี่ยนแปลงที่เกิดขึ้นจะสามารถดำรงอยู่ได้อย่างรู้เท่าทัน การวิจัยนี้ มีวัตถุประสงค์ (1) เพื่อศึกษาความคิดเห็นเกี่ยวกับผลกระทบของโลกาภิวัตน์ ทั้งด้านบวกและด้านลบของสังคมไทยในเขตภาคตะวันออกเฉียงเหนือตอนล่าง 3 จังหวัด และ (2) เพื่อศึกษาความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างโลกาภิวัตน์กับค่านิยมพื้นฐานของสังคมไทยในเขตภาคตะวันออกเฉียงเหนือตอนล่าง 3 จังหวัด กลุ่มตัวอย่างที่ใช้ในการศึกษาครั้งนี้ คือประชากรที่อาศัยอยู่ในสังคมเมืองและสังคมชนบทจากจังหวัดอุบลราชธานี ศรีสะเกษ และสุรินทร์ จำนวน 350 คน ระยะเวลาของการศึกษา 12 เดือน เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการเก็บรวบรวมข้อมูล คือแบบสอบถาม วิเคราะห์ข้อมูลที่รวบรวมได้ในเชิงพรรณนา สถิติที่ใช้ คือค่าความถี่ ร้อยละ และการทดสอบสัมประสิทธิ์สหสัมพันธ์ของเพียร์สัน ผลการศึกษาพบว่า (1) โลกาภิวัตน์ส่งผลกระทบทั้งทางบวกและทางลบต่อเศรษฐกิจ สังคม การเมืองและวัฒนธรรม (2) โลกาภิวัตน์ด้านเศรษฐกิจมีความสัมพันธ์กับค่านิยมพื้นฐาน ด้านการประหยัดและอดออม ด้านการมีระเบียบวินัยและการเคารพกฎหมายและด้านความรักชาติ ศาสน์ กษัตริย์ ในระดับปานกลางและในทิศทางเดียวกัน ส่วนด้านการปฏิบัติตามคุณธรรมของศาสนา มีความสัมพันธ์อยู่ในระดับสูง โลกาภิวัตน์ด้านสังคมมีความสัมพันธ์กับค่านิยมพื้นฐาน ด้านการพึ่งพาตนเอง ด้านการมีระเบียบวินัยและด้านการคารพกฎหมาย การปฏิบัติตามคุณธรรมของศาสนาและความรักชาติ ศาสน์ กษัตริย์ในระดับปานกลางและทิศทางเดียวกัน ส่วนด้านวัฒนธรรมมีความสัมพันธ์กับค่านิยมพื้นฐาน ด้านความรักชาติศาสน์ กษัตริย์ในระดับปานกลางและทิศทางเดียวกันอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ 0.05 Relationships between Globalization and Basic Values of Thai SocietyGlobalization has affected economic, social, political, and cultural areas and self-adaptability to accommodate changes is needed. This research aimed to study the positive and negative effects of globalization in three provinces in North-Eastern Thailand and the relationship between globalization and Thai society-based core values in these provinces. The sample was 350 people living in urban and rural areas in Ubon Ratchathani, Sisaket, and Surin. Over a period of 12 months, descriptive questionnaires were employed to collect data and were analyzed by frequencies, percentages, and Pearson's correlation coefficient. The findings showed that globalization impacted on the economy, society, politics, and culture positively and negatively, and that it moderately affected and was in accord with the core values related to saving and economy, self-discipline and lawfulness, and patriotism. Following the principles of Dharma was highly related and in agreement with the core values in respect to self-reliance and self-discipline. Lawfulness, following Dharma principles, and patriotism were moderately related. The cultural aspect was moderately related to and in accord with the core values on patriotism at a statistically significant level of 0.05.

The anchovy canning industry has high importance in the Cantabria Region (North Spain) from economic, social and touristic points of view. The Cantabrian canned anchovy is world-renowned owing to its handmade and traditional manufacture. The canning process generates huge amounts of several food wastes, whose suitable management can contribute to benefits for both the environment and the economy, closing the loop of the product life cycle. Life cycle assessment methodology was used in this work to assess the environmental performance of two waste management alternatives: Head and spine valorisation to produce fishmeal and fish oil; and anchovy meat valorisation to produce anchovy paste. Fuel oil production has been a hotspot of the valorisation of heads and spines, so several improvements should be applied. With respect to anchovy meat valorisation, the production of polypropylene and glass for packaging was the least environmentally friendly aspect of the process. Furthermore, the environmental characterisation of anchovy waste valorisation was compared with incineration and landfilling alternatives. In both cases, the valorisation management options were the best owing to the avoided burdens associated with the processes. The issue of whether to establish Specialist Chambers within the Kosovo justice system for alleged war crimes committed in Kosovo has been, arguably, one of the most heated debates not only from a political and social point of view, but also from a legal one. While the required amendments in the Constitution and several laws of Kosovo necessary to establish the Specialist Chambers in furtherance of the agreement dated 14 April 2014 between the Republic of Kosovo and the European Union on the Mission of the European Union Rule of Law Mission in Kosovo (EULEX) will certainly create heated debates in the political level, one may argue that the legal issues that are expected to be encountered when the Specialist Chambers will be operational, may be even more pressing. This is in consideration of the peculiar nature of the Specialist Chambers, which are meant to have their basis within the laws of Kosovo, but at the same time, be independent from them and from control of Kosovo authorities. The purpose of this article is to delineate the possible legal issues that might confront the Specialist Chambers of Kosovo. Its main argument is that, while the Specialist Chambers seem to follow the experience of other hybrid internationalised courts, it still differs from them in some aspects. The challenges that the new Specialist Chambers may need to tackle deal with its jurisdiction and position within the Kosovo Judicial system, and its legitimacy and legal basis.

Few things are as innocent as a weekly episode of Charles Shultz's Peanuts in the Sunday newspaper. Most often, the sole purpose of the artist is to cause the reader to smile, to momentarily allow melancholia to be replaced by laughter, to entertain. Shultz's work is part of a group of cartoons that be described as comic art. Another group, the social cartoon, is designed to amuse the reader, but also to provide commentary on some annoying or worrisome aspect of life. A third type of cartoon, however, is rarely innocent and usually deals with loftier issues than life's inconveniences. The political cartoon is a partisan, and often nationalistic, comment made by the artist. Through his or her work, the cartoonist seeks to "influence the viewer to a particular viewpoint and predispose him or her to a particular action." Political cartoons are frequently known for "artistic excellence" and humor, but these characteristics are always secondary to the ideas that the drawings express. Truly excellent political cartoons are symbolic, but simple. They may not be purely representational, but any misrepresentation or exaggeration must be believable. Finally, and most importantly, political cartoons must be rooted in truth and be about a subject which has "lasting importance."1 Cartoons are, in fact, an important resource for scholars interested in the political climate of a nation. The artist's drawings not only reflect prominent issues of a nation, but help shape feelings of nationalism among its citizens.

Direct and Indirect Regional Head Election (Pilkada), has been a long debate in the life of a democratic society in Indonesia. With Islam as a religious social background of the majority of the people of Indonesia, this makes the debate cannot be separated from the Islamic jurisprudence (fiqh). This paper is to compare the two electoral systems in light of Islamic constitutionalism (fiqh syasah). This study uses the theory of maqasid sharia of the maslaha as a tool to analyze the comparison of the two electoral systems. The findings of this study suggest that there are some positive things on one side, and some negative things on the other side on each system of direct election and indirect election. Taking into account the benefit of both the local election systems, the study concluded that direct election has more benefits that outweigh the indirect election. Some of the public benefits include: the strengthening of the people's sovereignty and avoid injustice in society at large as part of the learning aspects of politics and government. Second, it will build a litigious society and law enforcement officers who act decisively and are nonpartisan, which in turn creates a reverent attitude of the people towards the leader. Following the Balfour Declaration and the British conquest of Palestine (1917-1918), the small Jewish community that lived there wanted to establish an elected assembly as its representative body. The issue that hindered this aim was whether women would be part of it. A group of feminist Zionist women from all over the country created a political party that participated in the elections, even before women's suffrage was enacted. This unique phenomenon in Mandatory Palestine resulted in the declaration of women's equal rights in all aspects of life by the newly founded Assembly of Representatives. Margalit Shilo examines the story of these activists to elaborate on a wide range of issues, including the Zionist roots of feminism and nationalism; the ultra-Orthodox Jewish sector's negation of women's equality; how traditional Jewish concepts of women fashioned rabbinical attitudes on the question of women's suffrage; and how the fight for women's suffrage spread throughout the country. Using current gender theories, Shilo compares the Zionist suffrage struggle to contemporaneous struggles across the globe, and connects this nearly forgotten episode, absent from Israeli historiography, with the present situation of Israeli women. From the day of its existence, photography was perceived as a medium of inherent objectivity. With the invention and practice of photomechanical processes for preparing printing plates in the Russian Turkestan, it soon began to replace drawings and lithographs in books and magazines. It was the medium of choice to bring the foreign and exotic to the parlors of the emerging Russian bourgeoisie that quickly recognized it and turned the medium to serve its interests. A small but influential group of the early amateur photographers was made up of the military elite from the Russian imperial technical departments who went to explore non-Slavic cultures and architectural antiquities. This unorthodox combination of documentary photography, art and science marks the abrupt beginning of a new discipline in Central Asia: architectural photography. What do these records of architecture from a distant time and place tell present-day viewers? Can we speak of a specific synergy that was so apparent at the early days of photographic invention between the photographic medium and painting technique in relation to Central Asian photography? Or, of the cultural impact of the Russian Empire on its distant and youngest colony along with the ongoing insecurities of the Russian cultural politics in conflict with an ancient Muslim culture? This paper places the aesthetic and ideological aspects of Central Asian photography within a broader international orientalist context by revealing how political, cultural and social shifts altered the nature of Central Asian architectural photography from the tsarist conquest to the Bolshevik rule.

The author has analyzed the problem aspects of public administration of educational change in modern Ukraine. Special frameworks of public administration of educational change in an information society have been determined. The author has analyzed the categories of the implementation process of educational change. The author has explored the key features of external environment of such activity, formed by regulatory acts for settling relations in a particular area. The author has highlighted a set of contradictions of public management of educational change and recommendations for state agencies regarding the organization of an effective process of implementation of educational change as a social and political process with an emphasis on peculiar properties of the educational change. ; В статье осуществлен анализ проблемных аспектов государственного управления образовательными изменениями в современной Украине. The research objective of the dissertation is to complete the analysis on the first Iran's Supreme Leader's ayatollah Khumayni's concept of justice and, consequently, to create an analytical perspective, which would serve for the further Iranian foreign policy analysis. Research revealed that the complex logics of Khumayni's political thought and his concept of justice can be traced as an integral or unsolid narrative in today's Iranian foreign policy. Respectively, every case of Iranian politics can be explained through the discourse of Khumayni's justice. The analysis of Khumayni's concept of justice is performed combining methodological guidelines of adherents of the Cambridge School of Political Thought J. G. A. Pocock and Q. Skinner. The analysis indicated that the principal of justice is the prime Shi'ite principle and it has kept the same status in neo-Shi'itic Khumaynistic ideology. Political justice cannot be suspended and its significance is embedded in the Iranian Constitution. More over certain political and social punishment mechanisms exist to control its observance. The analysis also showed that Khumayni's concept of justice has a strong global dimension and implies certain political behavior, which is perceived by Iran as just, but not identified as such by the international community: for instance, spread of revolutionary ideas and support for resistance movements abroad, enmity towards Western states and i.e. More over the analysis of the concept of justice provides with the understanding about idealistic and pragmatic features of Iranian foreign politics, as well as with other aspects associated with international justice.

Climate change mitigation effort is being translated into several actions and discourses that make collateral benefits and their rationale increasingly relevant for sustainability, in such a way that they are now a constant part of the political agenda. Taking a border and consensual perspective, co-benefits are considered here to be emerging advantages of the implementation of measures regarding the lowering of greenhouse gases.Departing from the analysis of policy documents referring to two European urban transportation strategies, the emergent co-benefits are problematized and discussed to better understand their moral aspect. Further ethical reflection is conducted after an analysis of some unintended consequences of co-benefits rationale coming from the mentioned examples. The focus is primarily on the challenges of an integrative moral justification for co-benefits and also for their role in the climate change mitigation effort. We also discuss the limitations of the current normative models that frame co-benefits rationale, from a moral viewpoint and in relation to the overall climate change mitigation strategy.In this article, we propose the concepts of well-being and freedom, as portrayed by Capabilities Approach, as possible guiding notions for the moral and social evaluation of goodness of these emergent benefits and their rationale too. Additionally, some preliminary conclusions are drawn regarding the potential of the presented concepts to favour the climate change mitigation action. Finally, a scenario is drawn where Capabilities Approach is the moral guideline for co-benefits rationale showing this way its potential in terms of enhancing climate change mitigation strategy.

From an outsider's perspective, today's Popular China might appear as a self-confident and triumphant country. However, a large-scale examination of the country's recent moral controversies reveals a very different picture, one that has much to do with the widespread local public perception of an ongoing moral crisis (Kleinman et al., 2011), whose examination requires careful attention placed on the ethical and affective aspects of the everyday lives of today's Chinese people. In this article, I propose to examine the anguish that Chinese bachelor youths and their concerned parents undergo and express, as they are confronted with the difficult process of finding a suitable mate for marriage. I examine the fears their celibacy generates, the mutual distrust that participants taking part in bachelors' parents gatherings demonstrate, and the disputes these encounters engage. I analyze the moral world of today's urban China from the perspective of the very feelings and affects that pervade it. Highlighting the ways in which my interlocutors shared their emotions with me along the course of my fieldwork, carried out in the cities of Beijing and Chengdu, I will insist on the importance of these affects within an anthropological approach. The moral sensitivities contained in the maintenance of the economic and social situations of one's family reveal themselves as an exceptional resource for knowledge. By examining the political economy of sentiments within which parents and their children find themselves entrapped, I argue that we can gain a deeper understanding of the concrete consequences of today's societal transformations.

The way that Habermas reconstructs the legitimacy of the law and the modern political power includes a major renovation of the language used to thinks the politics. If political theory used to use a conceptual record based on the conflict, the management of violence, the use of force, the antagonism of classes, the couple friend/enemy, the need to build strategies to advance towards better living conditions, in the work of German author those notions are replaced by cooperation, exchange of good reasons, the primacy of the better argument, the agreement between free and equal citizens. In this work I am interested to note those aspects that Habermas's theoretical proposal does not explain because they are assumed. ; El modo en el que Habermas reconstruye la legitimidad del derecho y del poder político moderno incluye una importante renovación del lenguaje utilizado para pensar la política. Si la teoría política nos tenía acostumbrados a un registro conceptual referido al conflicto, la administración de violencia, la utilización de la fuerza, el antagonismo de clases sociales, el par amigo/ enemigo, la necesidad de construir estrategias para avanzar hacia mejores condiciones de vida, en la obra del autor alemán estas nociones son sustituidas por la cooperación, intercambio de buenas razones, primacía del mejor argumento y acuerdo entre ciudadanos libres e iguales. En este trabajo me interesa remarcar aquellos aspectos que la propuesta teórica de Habermas no explica porque los da por supuestos.
