En la actualidad, la Agenda 2030 se ha convertido en el referente de la comunidad internacional en la búsqueda de un mundo más sostenible, con mayor desarrollo y con menor pobreza. Dicha agenda se reconoce como universal, multinivel y multiactor, buscando abarcar en la medida de lo posible, no solo los temas más sensibles en torno al desarrollo, sino a todos los actores clave que, directa o indirectamente, inciden en este. En dicho contexto, es el sector privado uno de los actores que en los últimos años aparece como "novedoso". Ello se debe a que, desde otras agendas internacionales, como la de la "Eficacia de la ayuda y desarrollo", de la "Financiación al Desarrollo" o la de "Derechos Humanos", se ha observado un gradual involucramiento del sector privado, ya no solo como financiador, sino también como socio de acciones para el desarrollo desde hace más de una década.

La Unión Europea y América Latina y el Caribe cuentan con un importante
acervo de relaciones políticas y económicas, a través de una red de Acuerdos
de Asociación que ha sido el objetivo de la estrategia interregional desplegada
desde los años noventa. Un escenario de crisis de globalización y contestación
del sistema multilateral, al que se suma la crisis de la COVID-19, somete esas
relaciones a nuevas tensiones. Este artículo examina el estado actual de la
"Asociación estratégica birregional" y plantea posibles bases para su renovación
frente a un escenario de creciente competencia geopolítica. Se argumenta que
para ser relevante la UE debe promover una agenda centrada en las prioridades
de las sociedades de ambas regiones guiada por la Agenda 2030 de Desarrollo
Sostenible y el European Green Deal, frente a la competencia geopolítica y a las
políticas de poder de grandes potencias como Estados Unidos y China.

AbstractThe Sustainable Development Goals are a powerful lever to mainstream sustainability priorities in business' strategies and operations. At the same time, a new corporate sustainability based on a strategic understanding and management of biodiversity and ecosystem services is key to enact the new agenda for development. With the aim to better understand how businesses can operationalize the Agenda 2030, authors adopt a transdisciplinary approach and carry out an analysis of selected Italian business practices focused on biodiversity and ecosystem services management. Through a content analysis method and with the contribution of practitioners and experts, the main impacts of the practices have then been reconciled with the new framework for development. Finally, from primary data collected and further supported by semistructured interviews with company representatives (sustainability and environmental departments), authors propose a conceptual model that connects strategic biodiversity and ecosystem services management, its drivers and barriers, with the Sustainable Development Goals.

In fact, the CE is considered a tool to attain sustainable development goals (SDGs). In this sense, this paper aims at analysing the interaction between the CE and SDGs in the context of the new 2030 Agenda and the European CE strategy; thus contributing to the scarce empirical literature that links the potential of the European CE strategy to the achievement of the SDGs set by the 2030 Agenda. Three specific research questions have been formulated. First, could the objectives defined in the 2030 Agenda be considered homogeneous, and could they uniquely measure the concept of sustainability? Second, are there significant correlations between the implementation of a CE in the EU and the SDGs? Finally, is the behaviour of the 28 countries that make up the EU homogeneous in terms of the results of the initiatives aimed at the implementation of a CE? From these questions, nine hypotheses are put forward concerning the possible relationships between a CE implementation and the fulfilment of SDGs in the EU. The 2030 Agenda and the SDGs respond to humanity's challenge to live humanely, justly, sustainably and in peace on our interconnected globe. Pursuit of the Agenda is inevitably subject to forces that 'shake and stir' it. Correspondingly, our analytical frameworks need to be shaken and stirred too, to be more perceptive and responsive to emergent objective threats, subjective fears, and their impacts. A human security perspective offers an essential complement to the thinking and action underway for the SDGs, because insecurities arise in diverse and fluctuating forms in the daily lives of most people, produced by local, national, international and global forces. The worldwide 'shake and stir' triggered by COVID-19 is a reminder of how serious and all-encompassing such disruption can be. A human security perspective should be added in and/or to SDGs planning and implementation, at country level and in multilateral arenas. The perspective can draw together many available tools and stimulate their use focused on recognising and managing threats in people's daily lives, not least by increasing human resilience. This paper presents the approach's rationale, certain components, and its relevance to the SDGs Agenda, then presents two extended case studies: first, from almost 20 years of experience with human security-related thinking and practice in Latvia, and, second, from the COVID-19 pandemic and the resulting crises. It concludes with some suggestions for UN organizations, governments, and policy researchers.

El cuadro de conjunto presentado por la política migratoria mundial es de clara exclusión social, sutilmente oculta detrás de un discurso aparentemente preocupado por los derechos humanos de los migrantes. Cualquier excusa es buena para limitar el movimiento transfronterizo de personas (pobres) y la pandemia que actualmente paraliza el mundo sólo contribuirá a solidificar ese xenófobo discurso. La COVID-19, que nos demuestra lo interconectado que está el mundo y el frágil equilibrio de la sociedad, ha asestado tal golpe a la economía mundial que la Agenda 2030 se encuentra en verdadero peligro. Con esta obra, sin embargo, y desde una obligada perspectiva multidisciplinar, nos asimos con fuerza al salvavidas que supone el Pacto Mundial para la Migración Segura, Ordenada y Regular (ONU, 2018)

El objetivo del presente trabajo consiste en describir y comprender la construcción discursiva de la sostenibilidad por parte del gobierno de México, en el marco de la implementación de la Agenda 2030. Para ello se realizó un análisis semiótico atendiendo a las continuidades y rupturas entre los tres Informes Nacionales Voluntarios presentados en el Foro Político de Alto Nivel de Naciones Unidas en los años 2016, 2018 y 2021. En específico, se analizaron las tematizaciones referidas al concepto de sostenibilidad, al tiempo que se aplicó un análisis formal a la estructura de los informes. La principal conclusión a la que se arriba es que la sostenibilidad se entiende predominantemente desde una visión economicista que privilegia el crecimiento económico por sobre la justicia social y la protección ambiental.

El ODS4 procura garantizar la educación inclusiva, pero alcanzar este objetivo es problemático frente a la homogeneización biocultural. Examinamos el rol de la educación en la homogeneización, al promover una representación sesgada de la biodiversidad, según un análisis del contenido visual de los textos escolares en la educación básica de México y Chile. Los resultados muestran sesgos taxonómicos a partir de un limitado corpus de imágenes que no representan la biodiversidad singular. En México registramos 2,5 animales por cada planta mostrada, de los cuales el 74% fueron registros de especies nativas. En Chile, la proporción animal y vegetal fue de aproximadamente 1:1, de los cuales el 68% fueron registros de especies exóticas. Discutimos estos sesgos respecto a una transformación educativa que sirva mejor a la Agenda 2030.

La salud mental impacta en el bienestar y rendimiento académico de los universitarios. El confinamiento provocó el aumento de trastornos psicológicos como ansiedad, depresión y estrés. En el presente trabajo se realizó un análisis teórico sobre el bienestar psicológico y las estrategias de afrontamiento considerando el contexto del COVID- 19. Se seleccionaron 47 referencias, en su mayoría artículos de revistas indexadas de los últimos 5 años. Se resaltó la necesidad de desarrollar estrategias adecuadas y resiliencia en los estudiantes universitarios que contribuyan a su bienestar y les permitan afrontar los retos cotidianos. Esto, teniendo en cuenta los Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenibles (ODS) orientados a salud y bienestar, y a la educación de calidad de la Agenda 2030 de la ONU.

Linking Gandhi and sustainability may seem like a fashionable gimmick at first glance. However, if sustainability is understood in a holistic way, as a transformation of human–environment relations as well as of social and economic structures, this image changes. If one also takes seriously that Gandhi's understanding of non-violence does not only include the avoidance of physical violence, but a fundamental attitude in different areas of life, such as economy or the use of technology, it becomes clear that sustainability, as it is currently being promoted by the United Nations in Agenda 2030, and Gandhi's concept of satyagraha pursue identical goals. Gandhi, as well as elements of the Christian ethical tradition, can enrich political programs with a spiritual dimension, without which profound changes in human attitudes will not be possible.

Global trade rules on the support governments can provide to their farm sectors need urgent reform if countries are to make progress on Agenda 2030—and in particular on Sustainable Development Goal 2, which aims to end hunger and malnutrition, achieve food security, and promote sustainable agriculture. Trade rules must balance the need to ensure that domestic support does not harm producers elsewhere with the need to increase public investment in agriculture and food systems. las teorías sobre desarrollo y las de la comunicación social comenzaron a entrecruzarse en la segunda mitad del siglo XX, configurando luego el campo de la Comunicación para el Desarrollo. Las dos perspectivas principales de ambas disciplinas hasta los años 80, las teorías de la modernización y de la dependencia, protagonizaron también la disputa sobre la regulación del flujo informativo en los organismos internacionales. Más recientemente, los Objetivos del Milenio y la Agenda 2030 para el Desarrollo Sostenible retomaron la visión instrumental de la comunicación consolidada en los años 90, aunque abierta al nuevo enfoque de la Comunicación para el Cambio Social. Este trabajo recorre los principales hitos de conformación del campo, y propone algunas claves de lectura de su situación actual.

UNCITRAL has a vital role to play in exploring problems with and potential reform of ISDS, and in considering how to ensure its work better promotes, and does not undermine, rule of law, other domestic and international commitments and policies, and the globally agreed Agenda 2030. As the process moves forward, it is essential for the work to take a broad approach to defining the problem of "inconsistency" and designing reform solutions, as explored in this briefing note. Reform proposals regarding limiting shareholder claims, increasing states' interpretive power, and avoiding inappropriate adjudicator incentives are undoubtedly positive signs that reflect earnest desire for change. But it is unclear that anything short of a reversion to state-to-state dispute settlement will minimize the risk of inconsistency across law and policy spheres.

Este artigo avalia a cooperação Sul-Sul entre Brasil e África Ocidental sob a ótica das parcerias para o desenvolvimento e da erradicação da fome da Agenda 2030. Para tal, analisou-se a ligação da política exterior do Brasil à experiência brasileira no combate à fome por meio do componente de alimentação escolar da estratégia Fome Zero. Foram aplicados modelos de teoria da mudança e de path-dependence em três estudos de caso (Senegal, Togo e Gâmbia). Com isso, estimou-se que a cooperação no combate à fome foi positivamente complementada pelas ações do Centro de Excelência do Programa Mundial de Alimentos. Essa adição traduz-se como uma aproximação suplementar diplomática entre o Brasil e aqueles países em relação à cooperação Sul-Sul impulsionada pelas agências do governo brasileiro.

Abstract This article proposes an aggiornamento of the "sustainable development" ideal. It addresses four controversial terms, which enable us to foresee that "sustainable development" will very likely become the first utopia of the Anthropocene epoch. Taking into account the Agenda 2030, if the decision criteria are based on the rhetoric of international relations, particularly as used within the framework of the United Nations, it can certainly be concluded that sustainable development has already become the great contemporary utopia. However, if global governance is used as the criterion, this may not be the case, since environmental governance institutions are not yet comparable to development governance institutions. Strictly speaking, there is no global governance of sustainability, unless this notion is restricted to environmental issues.
