AbstractRecent reports have highlighted disparities in representation of Black men within research, calling for more work to be done with this group. The authors take up this call by exploring whether adherence to masculine norms influences mental health outcomes among young Black men. The sample included survey responses from 18- to 30-year-old Black men (N = 273) enrolled at five colleges and universities in the midwestern United States. Two theoretically relevant subscales from the Conformity to Masculine Norms Inventory (that is, self-reliance and emotional control) were used to measure adherence to masculine norms, and depressive symptoms were measured using the Patient Health Questionnaire. Confirmatory factor analysis results indicate that the model fit the data well. Furthermore, self-reliance was associated with higher rates of depressive symptoms (β = .358, p < .001), but emotional control was not (β = .137, p = .099). Study findings suggest that depression treatment interventions should be tailored to incorporate aspects of masculinity that are most salient to young Black men. In addition, social work researchers, clinicians, and service providers are uniquely positioned to contribute to the promotion of mental wellness among this underserved population and should be prepared to attend to young Black men's mental health needs.

; The following artistic project is a study of the form and stylistic elements found in Debussy´s "Estampes". It is necessary to examine the work from different points of view with the aim of learning the idiom of the composer and improving the piano interpretation of this work, which will be a part of the programme of the Master´s final concert. "Estampes" has been deemed suitable because it opened the composer´s maturity stage after "Pelléas et Mélisande", where he definitely reconciles his impressionistic goals with his personal language at the piano. In addition to this important fact, Debussy develops, within this work, a wonderfully lyric world of distant lands, giving the audience a chance to magically travel without leaving home. The first step of this stylistic analysis has necessarily involved the study of the political, economic and social context of the period, the situation of the arts at the end of the 19th century and the development of Impressionism, as well as Debussy´s life and compositions. The second step has involved the study of harmony, melody, rhythm, form and sound parameters, and finally extracting the stylistic conclusions.

This article analyses the legacy of Marsha P. Johnson as a heroine through the notion of labour, emphasising how heroine narratives are both a product of labour as well as a form of labour. After offering a short account of Marsha P. Johnson's role in the Stonewall riots and STAR, we explore the development of trans communities' ability to create, sustain and disseminate heroine narratives, emphasising Tourmaline's pivotal archival role in establishing Johnson's legacy. Then, we elucidate the role of heroine narratives in creating and sustaining a collective identity. We argue that community attachment to Marsha P. Johnson reclaims the place of trans communities in LGBTQ+ history but is often done in a manner that obscures the whiteness of mainstream trans advocacy. We suggest that the recent increase in interest towards the life-sustaining labour of STAR House reflects the evolution of trans collective identity in the post-visibility era.
