Emergent technologies are pushing the boundaries of how both qualitative and quantitative researchers practice their craft, and it has become clear these changes are dramatically altering research design, from the questions researchers ask and the ways they collect data, to what they even consider data. Gathering a broad range of new developments in one place, The Handbook of Emergent Technologies in Social Research offers comprehensive, up-to-date thinking on technological innovations. In addition to addressing how to effectively apply new technologies-such as the internet, mobile technologie

In the modern world the reputation of the company is more and more influenced by its social position. As a result of a longstanding and sustained process of western government capitalist development, a complicated and balanced system of regulating mutual relations between private enterprise, authority, society in the sphere of socioeconomic development of countries and separate territories was formed.Nowadays in different countries business participation in solving social problems is either regulated hard by the commercial, taxation, labour, environmental legislation or independently under the influence of determined motivations and benefits. In Russia this process is under way in the conditions of dominating governmental positions, weak civil society institutions and oligarchic business development.Social changes in the society are successful only when most important powers are involved. The cooperation of political, social and economic subjects, based on the principles of social partnership, contributes to the steady development of the country. The increasing significance of non-financial development factors (social stability, environmental safety) actualize practical and theoretical aspects of social responsibility. ; In the modern world the reputation of the company is more and more influenced by its social position. Talk of the death of social democracy in Europe is premature at the very least, sayMatt Browne, John Halpin and Ruy Teixeira, but a new, modern progressivism is now needed
This paper investigates how CSR firms influence a Cournot oligopoly with pollution. We define as CSR a firm that takes into account not only its profits but also internalises its own share of the externality and is sensitive to consumer surplus. The CSR firm obtains higher profits compared to profit-seeking firms. Also, the presence of at least one CSR firm improves social welfare and makes the first best Pigouvian taxation more lenient for Cournot firms. Finally, the CSR firm may induce the other firms to invest in green technology.

"This fully revised and expanded fifth edition of Social Work in Health Settings: Practice in Context maintains its use of the Practice in Context (PiC) decision-making framework to explore a wide range of social work services in health care settings. The PiC is updated in this edition to attend to social determinants of health and structural conditions. The PiC framework is applied in over 31 case chapters to reflect varied health and social care settings with multiple populations. The ideal textbook for social work in health care and clinical social work classes, this thought-provoking volume thoroughly integrates social work theory and practice and provides an excellent opportunity for understanding particular techniques and interventions"--

This article will bring together the social glue concept of social reproduction and a feminist analysis of civil society to the study of nonprofit care work in order to cast analytic light on the dynamics of care work in the nonprofit sector and contribute to theorizing care work, to identify and theorize aspects of nonprofit care work which reproduce and sustain social glue, and to supplement theory on civil society. Drawing on qualitative interviews with nonprofit care workers in South Africa and Scotland, this article argues that care work, in general, and nonprofit care work, more specifically, are key components of civil society and central to the gendered social glue that holds societies together. We argue that nonprofit care workers are part a distinctive but porous set of social relations and have their own unique way of sustaining social bonds in the context of late neoliberalism. The article looks closely at three dynamics of social glue in nonprofit care work, namely, empowerment, emotional/personal costs, and unpaid work. We argue that nonprofit care workers find micro ways of resisting the erosion of social glue and reweaving the social fabric through care and relationship and further that these forms of resistance may sustain much needed social bonds until larger social transformation is possible.
