This master 's thesis examines the impact of foreign direct investment on economic growth in groups of EU countries. The aim of the study is to analyze the impact of foreign direct investment on economic growth from a theoretical point of view, to create a model for assessing the impact of foreign direct investment on economic growth and to test it in groups of EU countries. The first part of the work, based on the analysis of the scientific literature, defines the concept of economic growth for the country and the need to assess this problem. The concepts of foreign investment and foreign direct investment are discussed, and their significance for the country's economy is theoretically analyzed. The main theories of the country's economic growth and the importance of foreign direct investment in them are analyzed. An overview of empirical studies assessing the impact of foreign direct investment on economic growth is provided. The second part of the work presents a methodology for assessing the impact of foreign direct investment on economic growth. First, the research stages and the theoretical model of empirical evaluation are presented. Next, the sample and period of the investigation are justified. Also, the factors highlighted in the study and the indicators reflecting them are presented, and hypotheses are formulated. In order to assess the impact of foreign direct investment on economic growth, an empirical model was developed, which will allow assessing the impact of these investments on economic growth in the groups of EU countries. The third part of the work deals with the dynamics of foreign direct investment and gross domestic product in 2000-2018, in the groups of EU countries. The final result of this study is presented - an empirical research model, and an assessment of the impact of foreign direct investment on economic growth in the groups of EU countries during the study period is performed. Based on the results of the study, their interpretation and comparison with empirical studies performed by other researchers are performed. The results of the study confirmed that foreign direct investment accumulated in EU countries has a different impact on economic growth in groups of countries with different levels of development. However, it has not been confirmed that foreign direct investment accumulated abroad has a different impact on economic growth in groups of EU countries with different levels of development.

We analyze the conceptions of 4248 teachers on Environment and GMO (Genetically Modified Organisms), in 12 European countries: Cyprus, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Lithuania, Malta, Poland, Portugal, Romania. Most of the differences between teachers' conceptions are observed inside each country. Some of them (related to preservation or utilization of Environment) significantly differentiate the 12 countries. Biology teachers have more knowledge on GMO and more opinions pro- GMO than their colleagues. Female teachers are significantly more anti-GMO than their male colleagues. More a teacher studied at University, more he or she thinks that the resources of our planet are limited. ; peer-reviewed

The European Union countries are diversified in terms of the standard of living of the population. The reduction of disparities in the standard of living, along with the elimination of the negative phenomena related to social exclusion form an EU policy priority. In this context, the aim of this article is to compare the standard of living in the various European Union countries and to determine Poland's position in the ranking. In the study, countries with a similar standard of living of their populations were grouped as well.The analysis was based on 10 variables describing the standard of living in the EU-28 countries and was conducted with the use of the development pattern method proposed by Z. Hellwig. According to the results of the research, the standard of living is the highest in Austria, Finland, Germany and Sweden, whereas it is the lowest in Spain, Malta, Croatia and Romania. Poland ranks relatively low among the European Union countries (20th place).

This book reports on research carried out as part of the European Union co-funded C.O.N.T.A.C.T. project which targeted hate speech and hate crime across a number of EU member states. It showcases the bearing that discourse analytic research can have on our understanding of this phenomenon that is a growing global cause for concern. Although 'hate speech' is often incorporated in legal and policy documents, there is no universally accepted definition, which in itself warrants research into how hatred is both expressed and perceived. The research project synthesises discourse analytic and corpus linguistics techniques, and presents its key findings here.
