The present article is part of a course that intends to make the students familiar with cultural differences in verbal and non-verbal communication, pluralism and individualism of the people belonging to a wide range of cultural backgrounds, taking into account the values provided by anthropology, high and popular culture, sociology, business, international relations. The course tries to identify the ways that people behave in terms of individualism and collectivism in multilingual and multicultural societies. The present article focused on teaching communication in intercultural contexts represents one of the activities of the Vir_Teach (A virtual solution for comprehensive and coordinated training for foreign language teachers in Europe) project, funded by the Erasmus+ programme; Parteners: Dimitrie Cantemir Christian University (Romania), University of Burgos (Spain), UC Leuven Limburg (Belgium), Szczecinska Szkola Wyzsza (Poland) and Universidade Lusofona, (Portugal).

Information asymmetries constitute a significant obstacle to capital flows across international borders, and in particular to flows of foreign investment (FDI) to emerging markets. Many governments aim to reduce information barriers by emerging in investment promotion activities. Despite potentially large benefits of FDI and popularity of investment promotion intermediaries (IPIs), relatively little is known about their effectiveness. This study uses data collected through the Global Investment Promotion Benchmarking (GIPB) exercise to examine whether higher quality of IPI services translates into higher FDI inflows. The analysis, based on information on 156 countries, suggests that countries with IPIs able to handle investor inquiries in a more professional manner and IPIs possessing higher quality Web sites tend to attract greater volume of FDI. These results are robust to using sector-level data and instrumental variable approach.

The educational requirements of industry and society are constantly changing and, therefore, need to be realigned to the current situation where the usage of e- learning tools has constantly increased in all levels of education within the European Union and from an international perspective as well. Therefore, this paper explores new ways of teaching and learning in the context of industrial engineering by exemplary reshaping a lecture for industrial logistics engineering education. These adaptations contribute to the transformation of teaching and learning processes and offer new opportunities of learning to the students in a world characterized by ongoing trends like digitalization, autonomization, 'glocalization', pandemics, and environmental disasters. Therefore, the authors discuss new learning platforms by incorporating the latest teaching and learning methods for students to create an opportunity for bridging the gap between traditional teaching methods and the digital generation

English is known as international language for communication. If we talk about Pakistan, English is used as an official language however, the national language of Pakistan is Urdu. In schools, English language is taught as a compulsory subject. It plays a very important role in developing communication skills among students. The present research is related to analyze the effect of English subject teaching on the writing skills of Secondary School Students in South Punjab. In this research 9th class government and private school were taken as study sample. A writing skill test that was related to English language conducted for collecting the data. After collection of data a comparison chart was made. In this chart difference between both school students was clearly visible. Conclusion was made on the basis of result and in the end, suggestions were given for improving the writing skills of students.

This paper examined the concepts of digital inclusion and sustainable development goals, and the roles libraries could play in realizing their objectives. The paper however, acknowledged that the libraries and librarians are the custodian of knowledge. The roles the deferent types of libraries could play was closely examined. Nevertheless, the arrangements International Federation of Library Associations (IFLA) had made for Capacity-Building and Technology Transfer were highlighted. The paper therefore, recommended among others that the libraries should be well funded and the librarians trained in ICTs; the paper further recommended that the government should conduct series of sensitizations of the masses, especially in the rural areas. The paper concludes that the library as the custodian of knowledge has an important role to play in realizing the objectives of digital inclusion and sustainable development goals in Nigeria.

Die aktuelle europäische Migrationspolitik hat an den Aussengrenzen eine Situation ausgelöst, welche menschenunwürdig ist und grundlegende Menschenrechte regelmässig verletzt. Diverse politische Entscheidungen und Prozesse, geltende Gesetze, Abkommen sowie Richtlinien schaffen Rahmenbedingungen, welche auch die Handlungsmöglichkeiten der Sozialen Arbeit als Profession in der Arbeit mit Geflüchteten massiv einschränken und beeinflussen. Dadurch gelangt die Soziale Arbeit immer wieder in einen Konflikt mit ihren berufsethischen Grundsätzen. Mit der Fachliteraturarbeit «Bis an die Grenze(n) – Europas Krise der Migrationspolitik und der berufsethische Konflikt der Sozialen Arbeit» zeigen Fabian Bracher und Dario Wüthrich auf, wie (neo-)koloniale Strukturen, Externalisierungsprozesse und die Illegalisierung der Migration Ausschluss- und Unterdrückungsprozesse reproduzieren sowie den Zugang zur Sozialen Arbeit einschränken. Durch eine Bewertung der Funktionen Exklusionsverwaltung, Inklusionsermöglichung und Exklusionsvermeidung anhand berufsethischer Kriterien wird aufgezeigt, welche Handlungsmöglichkeiten oder gar Verpflichtungen für die Soziale Arbeit mit Geflüchteten definiert werden können. Es werden Handlungsanforderungen an Fachhochschulen, Fachpersonen, Institutionen und an die Berufsverbände der Sozialen Arbeit gestellt. Engaging with Web Archives: 'Opportunities, Challenges and Potentialities', (#EWAVirtual), 21-22 September 2020, Maynooth University Arts and Humanities Institute, Co. Kildare, Ireland. The first international Engaging with Web Archives conference sought to: raise awareness for the use of web archives and the archived web for research and education across a broad range of disciplines and professions in the Arts, Humanities, Social Sciences, Political Science, Media Studies, Information Science, Computer Science and more; foster collaborations between web archiving initiatives, researchers, educators and IT professionals; highlight how the development of the internet and the web is intricately linked to the history of the 1990s. This is a Book of Abstracts from the two-day virtual conference, which took place in September 2020 after the original physical conference in April 2020 was postponed due to COVID-19.

Foreigners face certain barriers in accessing medical care, though international medical students are in many aspects privileged in this field. The aim of this study is to explore whether these students are facing problems in accessing healthcare. An original survey questionnaire was prepared and distributed online and on paper among students. In total 138 questionnaires were filled out. The results were analyzed using statistical methods. The main barriers faced by students are the lack of knowledge about the healthcare system and language problems. The study shows there is a need to start working on institutional solutions to provide information about access to healthcare and to overcome language barriers in healthcare institutions.

International audience ; Through an empirical approach of several conspiracy theories (Knight Templars, Jesuits, Illuminati, Freemasons or Jewish conspiracy), I have noticed they develop six main characteristics. First, the conspiratorial myth points out scapegoats in a non-aleatory way. They usually belong to ethnical or religious minorities. Secondly, those scapegoats try to acquire an overwhelming power in all fields. Thirdly, to achieve this goal, they corrupt the whole society, especially on mores and sexuality. Fourthly, to set up their domination the scapegoats use the art of simulation and dissimulation. They yield a cult of secrecy. Fifthly, the scapegoats are consistently portrayed through symbolic morphological types, frequently as animals. Finally, conspiratorial myths undergo a process of hybridization and creolization. They go through transformations, alterations and medleys. Every conspiracy theories mix up into one another.

[The monitoring of the implementation of the Havana Agreements by regional organizations: the OAS and the OEI] At the end of 2016, the Government of Colombia and the FARC-EP managed to sign a Peace Agreement to end the longest armed conflict in Latin America, known as the Havana Agreements. However, the implementation phase of the Agreements is extremely fragile and the institutionalized international community plays a key role in the success of this procedure. The Peace Agreement assigned the regional organizations very specific functions in terms of monitoring the implementation of each of the six points agreed upon. This investigation analyzes the results obtained through the monitoring and accompaniment work of the Organization of American States –OAS- and the Organization of Ibero-American States for Education, Science and Culture –OEI- reflected in the official reports published in this regard.

The aim of this paper is twofold. On the one hand it attempts to retrace the emergence of the notion of the hegemonic project, in various debates, beginning with the debate within British Marxism on Thatcherism as a hegemonic project, but also the use of the notion of the hegemonic project in critical International Relations Theory. On the other hand, by means of a return to Gramsci's thinking on hegemony, it attempts to rethink the notion of the hegemonic project in contemporary political debates in the left and to suggest that we must attempt to think of hegemonic projects not as simple political projects or electoral strategies, but rather as historical initiatives of the subaltern.
