Abstract
This paper presents the data processing methodology for the physical modeling of ocean waves in wave flumes which was developed for the purpose of conducting hydrodynamics research in laboratory conditions. It includes the description of the research cycle, applied wave theory and the measured data processing methods. A significant achievement presented in this paper is the originally developed data analysis algorithm for the practical improvement of the wave generation process.

Historians using computers to apply quantitative methods and historians using computers for other things have strained relationships. This is not the result of mutual bad will, but results from genuine differences between information as provided by contemporary phenomena and that derived from historical documents. Only after these differences are taken care of quantitative and other formal methods are methodologically safe. A tentative model for a possible solution of part of these problems by fuzzy logic is presented. More generally we discuss which developments are needed in the application of information technology to historical research to ease the strained relationship mentioned at the beginning.

With the rapid development of computer science and the expanding use of computers in all facets of American life, there has been made available a wide range of instructional and informational films on automation, data processing, and computer science. Here is the first annotated bibliography of these and related films, gathered from industrial, institutional, and other sources. This bibliography annotates 244 films, alphabetically arranged by title, with a detailed subject index. Information is also provided concerning the intended audience, rental-purchase data, ordering procedures, and such s

Here, the authors present modern mathematical methods to solve problems of differential-operator inclusions and evolution variation inequalities which may occur in fields such as geophysics, aerohydrodynamics, or fluid dynamics. For the first time, they describe the detailed generalization of various approaches to the analysis of fundamentally nonlinear models and provide a toolbox of mathematical equations. These new mathematical methods can be applied to a broad spectrum of problems. Examples of these are phase changes, diffusion of electromagnetic, acoustic, vibro-, hydro- and seismoacoustic waves, or quantum mechanical effects. This is the second of two volumes dealing with the subject.
