Patients with eczema and other dry skin conditions use moisturizers also when the skin appears healthy. However, moisturizers have been found to change skin barrier function, and it appears that certain combinations of ingredients increase the skin susceptibility to external agents. In the present randomized and single-blind study, the influence of a urea-containing cream on nickel susceptibility in 35 patients with known allergy to nickel was evaluated. Treatment of the volar forearm twice daily for 20 days with the urea cream reduced transepidermal water loss (TEWL). However, the susceptibility to nickel sulfate was not changed by the cream treatment. Clinical scoring of the skin reaction did not show any difference between the untreated and the cream-treated area. Furthermore, the increase in TEWL did not differ between the areas. The absence in correlation between TEWL and skin susceptibility to nickel suggests different penetration pathways through the skin of water and nickel. Measurement of the skin permeability to other substances than water is pertinent to the understanding of the influence of moisturizers on the skin permeability and, ultimately, to their therapeutic efficacy in the prevention of contact eczema due to exposure to harmful exogenous substances.

An analysis is made of unstable perturbations of a geostrophic current of finite transverse scale with a parabolic vertical velocity profile of a general form (with linear and constant velocity shear) in vertically limited layer. The model is based on the potential vortex equation in the quasi-geostrophic approximation, taking into account the vertical diffusion of momentum and mass. The equation and boundary conditions were reduced to a spectral eigenvalue problem of the Orr-Sommerfeld type. To search for eigenfunctions and eigenvalues, a high-precision analytic-numerical method was used. Particular attention was paid to the study of unstable perturbations with a phase velocity exceeding the maximum flow velocity. Such instability should be distinguished from baroclinic instability and critical layer instability. It is found that the indicated instability can develop in ocean currents when the problem parameters vary in a wide range of values. It is obtained also that with an increase in the Prandtl number, the phase velocity of such disturbances increases and can significantly exceed the maximum flow velocity. However, the occurrence of such unstable perturbations is possible only in the cases when the maximum flow velocity is located in the inner region of the layer (but not necessarily in its center). It has also been found that narrow currents (the transverse scale is equal to or smaller than the Rossby radius) with a parabolic vertical profile can be unstable. The most unstable perturbations have approximately equal scales along and across the flow, that is, they are circular perturbations. A discussion of various types of geostrophic current instability with a parabolic vertical velocity profile as applied to the ocean is presented.

Fertility of soils is largely determined by their physical and chemical properties. Response of soil environment is a mobile indicator of soil fertility. Direction and intensity of almost all soil processes that provide nitrogen, phosphorus and potassi- um regimes of soils, as well as availability of macro- and microelements for plants, depend on it. The paper presents the result of a field study of acid-alkaline conditions of profiles of black soil of typical and leached different terms of agricultural use of soil cat- ens of the meadow-steppe section of the Belgorod region in 2019. The research object was different-age arable areas with an age of agricultural development of 140 and 240 years, respectively. The steepness of surface in areas corresponding to the meadow-steppe zonal landscape of the forest-steppe did not exceed 4-6 °. As a result of field studies, 32 incisions were studied in the mead- ow-steppe section (6 incisions on background catens and 12 incisions on open catens). Each incision was provided with layered values of morphometric indicators of soil horizons. For background steppe soils, shade slopes are characterized by more alkaline conditions, in comparison with southern slopes. For 140-year-old arable land, the situation is opposite: shadow slopes have a more acidic reaction of the medium, in comparison with insoluble ones; for 240-year-old arable land, alkaline-acid conditions on the slopes of opposite expositions did not differ significantly. In the first 140 years of plowing, acidification of the soil profile occurs; the difference in the pH value between the background and arable land values of 140 years of age on the slope of the northern ex- position reaches 1.6 on the surface, gradually decreasing to 0.2 at depth. Further plowing leads to alkalization of the soil profile by 0.6-0.9 pH units. The research results can be used in development of agricultural systems in crop industries.

The purpose of the study is calculation research of the radiation characteristics of fission products and actinides at different phases of spent nuclear fuel (SNF) management of the Belarusian Nuclear Power Plant (NPP). The study is aimed at the scientific support of the government decision as determined by the "On approval of the spent nuclear fuel management Strategy of the Belarusian nuclear power plant". А probabilistic forecasting model and an effective code CUB for the spent nuclear fuel radioactivity inventory assessment were developed by the authors. Radionuclides activities as function of nuclear fuel burnup for nuclear fuel with the initial enrichment on the 235U equals to 4.81 % on the base of approximation relations of Regulation RB-093-14 (Moskow, 2014) have been calculated. Basic relations between specific activities of the main hazardous fission products and actinide, the SNF burnup and initial degree of fuel enrichment were analyzed. The rates of decrease of individual and total fission products and actinides activities of the Units №1 and 2 of the Belarusian NPP were obtained depending on the specific phase of spent SNF management. The results are of value for decision-making on ecology acceptable SNF management option introduced by Spent Nuclear Fuel Management Strategy of the Belarusian NPP.

The comprehension of admirativeness as an independent category took place relatively recently – at the end of the 20th century. Until now, some scholars have not recognized an independent character of admirative. However, in recent years there has been an increasingly noticeable tendency to recognize the separate role of admirativeness and to indicate that the expression of surprise evoked by unexpected information cannot be combined with similar meanings. At the same time, the ways and degree of expression of admirativeness in different language systems vary significantly. The introduction of such grammatical category as admirativeness and the term "admirative" refers to the second half of the 19th century. In 1879, O. Dozon coined the term in his works on the Albanian language. The choice of this name (Fr. admiratif comes from the verb "to admire") is determined by the fact that the linguist interpreted the concept as a certain sense of admiration or surprise, often having an ironic character. Further the development of this direction showed that admirative had the meaning of surprise rather than admiration. In this connection, in 1997, S. de Lancey first singled out this concept into a separate grammatical category. The scholar substantiates it by the fact that in a number of languages, such as Korean, Turkish, Tibetan, Dardic, Sanvar, etc., admirative has a separate grammatical expression. The identification of admirativeness as a separate linguistic phenomenon with a number of specific features has been still the subject of controversy among the researchers. Characteristics and distinctive features of admirativeness, allowing for the separation it from other similar categories will be considered later in the paper (Davletbaeva et al., 2013). In his writings, S. de Lancey uses the term "mirative", thereby excluding its correlation with admiration introduced by O. Dozon from the meaning of the concept, and indicating that its primary function is to convey the subject's astonishment. To date, the term "mirative" is widely used in English-language grammar. V.A. Plugnyan notes that the use of this term is more grounded from a typological point of view, however, the use of the concept "admirative" is often retained in domestic works (Smagina, 1996).

A spectral problem of Orr-Sommerfeld type for describing stable and unstable disturbances of oceanic geostrophic flows with linear vertical velocity shear is considered. Calculations of eigenvalues, increments of growth rate of unstable modes, and eigenfunctions of the fastest growing disturbances are presented. It is found that the instability of the flow is observed over a wide range of horizontal scales: in addition to long-wave perturbations with a phase velocity exceeding the maximum flow velocity and perturbations with scales of the Rossby radius, short-wave modes with scales much smaller than the Rossby radius (sub-mesoscale structures) exist. The results of the model are used to describe intrusions in the Arctic basin, which are observed under conditions of absolutely stable stratification.

The objective of this study is to identify and quantify the factors that impact professional career development, with the intention of applying this knowledge to personnel management practices. The goal is to enhance motivation, develop effective socio-economic systems, and facilitate individual career projection within specific companies. This article aims to explore the influencing factors on professional career growth and develop a quantitative methodology for assessing these factors. It recognizes that the employment market has undergone significant changes due to new global challenges, necessitating a re-evaluation of existing methods and models. Method: The study employs a sociological survey methodology to collect data and analyze the results. This approach allows for the quantitative confirmation of hypotheses regarding the influencing factors on career growth. Mathematical justification is used to determine the weighting coefficients of these factors and establish a comprehensive assessment of professional career growth. The research successfully develops and validates an integral coefficient that quantitatively describes the impact of priority factors on career development. The findings suggest that the proposed methodology can be implemented in personnel management practices to improve motivation and foster effective socio-economic systems. Additionally, the approach can be used by individuals to plan their own career development within an organization. Implications of the research: The proposed methodology and approaches have broad applicability across different social groups and specialties. They can be utilized to enhance personnel motivation, develop effective socio-economic systems, and facilitate psychological and communication interactions during career development.

The article presents a study that considers the readiness of the representatives of the population, among the inhabitants of the Siberian Federal District, to accept and use cryptocurrencies. The authors formulate the main directions of the cryptocurrency market's development, which are associated with their influence on the system of monetary relations and their acceptance by the mass population. Cryptocurrency is considered as a financial market tool that changes the traditional way of people's life, their worldviews and values. The authors reveal the features of economic and psychological reasons that influence people's perception and understanding of financial transformations. The aim of this article is to determine the trends in the development of the cryptocurrency market that are associated with its influence on the system of monetary relations and their acceptance by the mass population. A study of the ongoing changes will allow a much deeper analysis and assessment of the nature of the ongoing changes and innovative processes. The research hypothesis was that the monetary system of relations should be improved through the development of cryptocurrencies as a new payment instrument that meets the requirements of modern society's development and the functioning of a decentralized financial system. In the course of the study, methods of comparative analysis, generalizations, and systematic approaches were used. The informational and empirical base of the study was data obtained during the survey of respondents over 18 years old, living in the cities of the Siberian Federal District of the Russian Federation. The authors explored the nature of innovative processes from the point of view of the mass consumer; identified and analyzed the main trends of the modern world, with which the people of the region associate the emergence and spread of cryptocurrencies, their advantages and disadvantages; assessed the prospects for the use of cryptocurrencies, as well as the possibility of their recognition as a means of payment, from the point of view of representatives of the region's population. As a result of the study, the authors conclude that, at present, the functions of regulatory and governing state bodies should be directed towards expanding the virtual space, building a decentralized financial system of relations and developing regulatory norms for financial market participants. The development of the economy is impossible without the cryptocurrency market, which is its integral part and is dictated by the time and the needs of society.

The article discusses educational practices and forms of interaction among enterprises, universities, colleges, educational centers and other structures in the process of training for innovative enterprises of Ulyanovsk region. In this regard, some differences in the approaches of new industries and enterprises that have existed since the Soviet era are indicated. In particular, this concerns the development of various intracorporate retraining and advanced training programs, including their own educational centers. At the same time, such formats are not devoid of the contradictions and are different for workers and specialists, for universities' and colleges' graduates. In general, the development of innovation sector poses new requirements for training and readiness of the education system to take into account the constantly changing demands of enterprises with new technologies and new products. On the other hand, the role of non-institutional forms of training of employees, their desire to improve, develop and the ability to independently search for and receive new knowledge in constantly changing conditions are emphasized. In this regard, the ability to self-study, including the involvement of online educational portals was highlighted. The importance of the early orientation of children to study technical disciplines and the role of children's technology parks, joint school classes with innovative enterprises, and the importance of interregional competence centers for secondary special education was emphasized.

The article aims at demonstrating significant differences in the perception of rationality and irrationality in the works of ancient Greek philosophers and philosophers of the period of Latin apologetics. The authors conducted a comparative analysis of the works of ancient and Latin philosophers. The analysis revealed that the Greeks solved the problem of the ratio of the rational and the irrational in an ontological way, while the Latins shifted the focus on the problem to the axiological dimension. The article presents the correlation of three examples of ontological orientation of pagan philosophy with three examples of axiological orientation of Latin theology of the apologetic period. The research methodology is based on the combination of historical-functional and comparative analyses. The works of N. S. Mudragey, where the validity of the use of the concepts "rational" and "irrational" in relation to ancient philosophy was proved, provided the methodological basis of the study, as well as the works of G. G. Mayorov, who actually was the first to consider Latin apologetics as a system with a clear tendency from hellenophilia to hellenophobia. The works of ancient Greek philosophers provided the theoretical basis of the study, as well as the works of Lactantius, Arnobius, Tertullian, and Minucius.
