Abstract
Agricultural practices are generally organic and inorganic practices. Organic agriculture is more about producing agricultural products without disturbing the ecosystem, biodiversity and the soil health; whereas, inorganic farming is completely opposite of organic farming. Use of chemicals nutrients, hybridisation of seeds, chemical fertilizers, pesticides, is commonly used to get high yield. Since inorganic agriculture is practicing from long time and we are used to get more yield in less time, farmers are bit hesitant to change to organic farming. Behavioural, economic and social attributes of the farmers largely influence the future of organic farming. Objectives: The principal aim of the study is to assess the attitude, perception, lifestyle and satisfaction of organic and inorganic farmers. Methodology: A sample of 30 organic and inorganic farmers were selected from different districts of Karnataka state. Semi-structured tool was designed to collect data from the farmers through interview method. Thematic and free-listing techniques were used to analyse and present the data. Results: Organic farmers tend to be resilient and motivated as compared to the inorganic farmers. There were issues as perceived by the inorganic farmers that the organic farming was not an easy way to reap economic benefits and high yield for which conventional farming has been in practice. However, the shared views were that the agriculture has to receive the due place and dignity as compared to other market occupations which are more profitable. Conclusion: The study observes that organic farming needs sustainable systems to support, promote, advocate and practice it. Behavioural domains and economic domains are equally important to influence the lifestyle and satisfaction of the farmers.

This second of two companion volumes places the labor markets, workplaces, jobs and workers of Europe in comparative perspective. It focuses on the politics, economics, sociology, and history of work and workers in Europe. It contains both qualitative and quantitative studies as well as explicitly theoretical work, and compares contemporary patterns and the recent history of European workers with other models of work worldwide. Authors contribute a variety of methodological and theoretical perspectives, with papers that push the boundaries of evidence and argument. Specific topics in 'Comparing European Workers Volume 2: Policies and Institutions' include: the political economy of active social policy in postindustrial democracies; social protection dualism, deindustrialization and cost containment; organized labor in Europe; and unionization in East European ex-communist countries. It asks such questions as 'does European-style welfare generosity discourage single mother employment?', 'whose interests do unions represent?' and 'are trade unions still redistributive?'.

This study describes madrasa governance in improving the quality of teacher work during the COVID-19 pandemic at Al Fuad private madrasah Al Fuad. The purpose of this research is to educate readers and madrasa teachers so that they always improve the quality of teacher work during the COVID-19 outbreak. This type of research is a qualitative research that seeks to explain social phenomena that are developing in the present mass. The data collection technique he did was observation and unstructured interviews and then the data was analyzed objectively and then described scientifically by following the procedures for writing scientific papers, from the results of this study it was found that: First, the madrasa leadership determined the teacher's attendance schedule as much as 50% every day and limiting working time in madrasas according to the instructions from the Covid 19 task force and then adjusting the subject matter according to the curriculum set by the government. Second, madrasa leaders conduct training for teachers in making lesson plans and learning models by utilizing social media technology. Third, madrasa leaders supervise teachers in the form of monitoring online learning processes and student assessment lists according to student competencies, Fourth, not conducting gathering activities in the madrasa environment so as not to become a cluster of Covid 19 transmission. Fifth, madrasa leaders evaluate the work of teachers every month by implementing strict health protocols.

When politicians employ public servants, have those people peculiar attitudes toward politics and policies? This paper assesses this topic through trajectories and working practices of senior civil servants in French local governments. A mix of political sociology and of sociology of work, it focuses on generational patterns of political attitudes and thereby renews the thesis of "politicized" public managers. It demonstrates that new patterns in careers -- increasing diploma requirements, fewer social mobility, increasing geographical mobility and decreasing steady employment contracts -- result in less personalized relations toward politicians, although political screening remains strong. The article is devoted to the methodological and methodological foundations of the study of the personal qualities of managers and ordinary employees of organizations. In contrast to the author's previous works devoted to the study of the personal qualities of leaders, including civil servants, in the works of Plato, Aristotle and M. Weber, where empirical models of the structure of the personal qualities of leaders of goal-rational, value-rational, affective and traditional types of social action were presented (according to M Weber), this publication presents the combined results of research conducted at different times in different organizations on empirical models of the structure of personal qualities of managers and ordinary workers of the "radicalist type of social action", which expands the understanding of the conceptual approach about the four types of social action by M. Weber. And the empirical models themselves can be useful for solving applied problems in the field of organization management. The more the work of collecting empirical data continued, the more interesting the theoretical and practical question became. How common are people of the radicalist type of social action? In what types of social institutions, in what professions is the radicalist type represented most vividly? What in the structure of personal qualities distinguishes the radicalist behavior of representatives of peaceful professions (civil servants, doctors, teachers, etc.) from certain categories of professional military personnel? If radicalist behavior is a professionally important quality of workers, then how to measure the propensity of an individual to engage in radicalist behavior? The advance in the new Information and Communication Technologies allows new work environments to be generated, thus favoring the business sector to find employability spaces for new workers, which, due to their competitive, economical, time conditions, compliance, social environments, among others, assume a competitive role f rom a different place to the traditional workplace. When verifying the development of this topic, through the documentary review in the SCOPUS, REDALYC and SCIELO databases, it was found that the topic of most significant interest and development corresponds to the topic of analysis of working conditions, followed by the advantages and disadvantages in the work and personal life, the concept, the background, the evolution of teleworking, and the normative application, whose results by thematic axis analyzed, are presented within the document. ; El avance en las nuevas Tecnologías de la Información y de la comunicación permiten que se generen nuevos entornos laborales, favoreciendo de esta forma que el sector empresarial, encuentre espacios de empleabilidad a nuevos trabajadores, los cuales, por sus condiciones competitivas, económicas, de tiempo, de cumplimiento, de entornos sociales, entre otros, asuman un rol competitivo desde un lugar distinto al centro de trabajo tradicional. Ao verificar-se o desenvolvimento desse tema, diante da revisão documental nas bases de dados Scopus, Redalyc e Scielo, encontrou-se que o tema de maior interesse e desenvolvimento, corresponde ao tema de análise das condições trabalhistas, seguido de vantagens e desvantagens na vida trabalhista e pessoal, o conceito, os antecedentes, a evolução desse tipo de trabalho, e a aplicação da normativa, cujos resultados por eixo temático analisado, se apresentam no interior do documento.

A letter from the Indian Commissioner answering Platt Cline's inquiry into the Hopi Tribal Council. The commissioner states the Bureau's position in regards to the Tribal Council as supported by the Hopi consitution and by-laws. Also includes a document outlining the Hopi's claim to the right to refuse to go to war for the United States due to their pacifist nature. BIOGRAPHICAL NOTE: The Ammon Hennacy Associates were Quaker activists Virginia Anderson and George Yamada who in the 1950s wrote letters on behalf of the Hopi to United States Government leaders from the BIA to the Justice Department. Anderson was an Arizona State University Instructor in Social Work and Psychology and George Yamada, was a World War II draft resister.

Este artículo explora las características de la población esclava, las ocupaciones y distribución de los trabajadores libres, especialmente los afrodescendientes, y el acceso a la propiedad en la campaña de Mendoza de la década de 1820. El objetivo es conocer la inserción de estos sectores en la estructura social posrevolucionaria. Consideramos que la revolución y la guerra introdujeron y profundizaron cambios económicos, políticos y sociales que impactaron en la integración de estos sectores sociales. Las fuentes examinadas, con herramientas de estadística descriptiva, son padrones de población y de propiedad de los vecinos de Mendoza de 1823. Los resultados muestran el impacto de la militarización en la esclavitud, la estructuración social posrevolucionaria en base a las ocupaciones y entregan indicios de la movilidad social de los afrodescendientes. ; This article explores the characteristics of the slave population, the occupations and distribution of free workers, especially Afro-descendants, and access to property in the Mendoza campaign of the 1820s. The objective is to know the insertion of these sectors in the post-revolutionary social structure. We consider that the revolution and the war introduced and deepened economic, political and social changes that had an impact on the integration of these social sectors. The sources examined, with descriptive statistics tools, are a population register and a property register of the residents of Mendoza from 1823. The results show the impact of militarization on slavery, post-revolutionary social structuring based on occupations and they provide indications of the social mobility of Afro-descendants. ; Instituto de Investigaciones en Humanidades y Ciencias Sociales

This qualitative study aims to explore the valuable functionings - things that people consider to be important- of the older long-term unemployed and their ability to achieve valued outcomes. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with 20 long-term unemployed people aged 45 and over. Participants were included through purposeful sampling. The theoretical frameworks of the latent deprivation theory and the capability approach were used to develop an interpretive analysis. Nine valuable functionings were identified: social contact, feeling appreciated, structure, feeling useful, meaningfulness, autonomy, financial resources, paid work, and being active. These valuable functionings were partly accessible through the activities that people performed, varying from physically active and physically passive activities to informal work. The functionings of meaningfulness, autonomy, financial resources, and paid work seemed to be difficult to achieve. We identified three groups. The first consisted of people whose work status changed when they entered the benefit system; for them paid work was still a valuable functioning, and they experienced the most difficulties in achieving valued outcomes. The second group also experienced a change in work status once they started to receive benefits, but those people adapted to their new situation by attributing greater value to other functionings. The third group had no change in work status, e.g., housewives who had applied for a benefit because they were not able to make ends meet after a divorce. This group did not experience a loss of functionings due to unemployment, nor did they try to achieve other functionings. The results of this study indicate a need for a more personalized, tailor-made approach, with an emphasis on an individual's valued outcomes instead of on rules and obligations.
