The purpose of this investigation was to analyze and to describe the effects of lottery revenue on the earmarked function of public elementary and secondary education in Michigan and New York. In order to update lottery information and provide the necessary background data for this study, the current status and performance of lotteries in the District of Columbia and the 22 states operating lotteries in 1986 are included in this research. An interrupted time-series design was employed to research the stability, reliability and yield of revenue from the state lotteries of Michigan and New York. Resultant data indicated that although in absolute dollars net lottery figures are impressive, they represent an unstable, low-yield portion of own source revenue in Michigan and New York. In addition, claims made by lottery proponents that net lottery revenue contributes to the expansion of the functional area of public elementary and secondary education were not supported by these data. ; Ed. "The technology evolution in education can no longer be apprehended simply by looking at the use of computers and networks. Technology is not just a supplementary tool to the conventional method of education. Education has to undergo a complete transformation with technological innovations for sustainability of quality education as a system and not in silos. The sustainability in education also necessitates a more workable strategy to realize socially viable educational policies and practices which can emphasize more on personalized learning. Due to various factors like emerging technologies; changing needs of the learners; policy reforms for enhancing employability; and emphasis on uninterrupted education as in the case of current pandemic scenario of COVID 19, there is need to steer a major transition in education system. The education system has to be real and proficient for it to be instrumental to nurture the knowledge-society. A coordinated approach involving both school and families is essential for education to be successful. Mutual support and the satisfaction to teachers and parents alike are particularly important in the area of education in values. We carry out a pilot study, from which we obtained enough information to design and apply family education programmes in the future. In this paper, we explain the design and implementation of the programme: 1) a brief state of the question and a review of some recent bibliography; 2) the stages in which this pilot project was put into practice; 3) some conclusions will be drawn as a guide for future work in this area. The school with which we made our action-research agreement was San Viator (Vitoria, Spain), an independent school with some public funding. The headmaster, the coordinator, and the school counsellor were the professionals who collaborated directly with our project. The educational goal was to provide guidance for parents with children in years 3 and 4 (aged 8 to 10), and the school itself invited these parents to take part in the programme. Out of 75 families at the school, 40 expressed interest, 26 (fathers and mothers) took part in the diagnosis, and 12 mothers participated in the programme.

Efforts to prepare better future generations through local character education based on local wisdom should be done since early childhood. The purpose of this research is to explain (1) the implementation of character education based on local wisdom, (2) character education management based on local wisdom, and (3) factors that influence the management of character education based on local wisdom. Data were drawn using (1) interviews, (2) participant observation, and (3) documentation techniques. The data were analyzed by means of an interactive model consisting of data collection, data reduction, data display, and inference. The results show that (1) the character values taught in PAUD KB Al-Irsyad Al-Islamiyah Cirebon City adopt the kinship system which is one of the local cultural centers in Cirebon City. The local wisdom of the communities in Cirebon is derived from SGJ, especially the sayings of SGJ which imply piety, belief, discipline, wisdom, policy, decency, manners and social life; (2) the character education management that is based on the local wisdom includes planning, implementation, and supervision; (3) the supporting factors in the implementaton of the character education management include the government support, human resources, facilities, programmed activities, support of school residents, parents, and surrounding communities. The inhibiting factors include limited control of the school after the students are off school and the influence of the media. The local wisdom based character education is planned with reference to the school vision, i.e. "Forming a smart, good, skilled, and noble learner". Character education can be integrated into every subject and linked to the context of everyday life. As a supervisor, the principal has supervised and guided the teacher periodically during each turn of the school year. The learning method that is based on local wisdom is in accordance with the reference of the Directorate of Early Childhood Education. The results of this study can be used as a reference for preparing and planning the management of local-based character education in early childhood education, and providing input for PAUD managers in developing and implementing the model of planning, implementation, and supervision of character education that is based on local wisdom.
