International audience ; Background: We recently reported an improvement of precuneus PET metabolism after EMDR therapy in military participants suffering from PTSD. Objective: The aim of the present study was to investigate the metabolic changes of precuneus connectivity in these participants after such treatment. Method: Fifteen participants with PTSD performed a brain 18F-FDG-PET sensitized by virtual reality exposure to war scenes, before and after EMDR treatment. Interregional correlation analysis was performed to study metabolic changes of precuneus connectivity through SPMT maps at whole-brain level (p < 0.005 for the voxel, p < 0.05 for the cluster). Results: A decrease of connectivity was observed after EMDR between the precuneus and two significant bilateral clusters of the cerebellum (bilateral Crus I and VI cerebellar lobules, Tmax voxel of 5.8 and 5.3, and cluster size of 343 and 314 voxels, respectively). Moreover, higher cerebellar metabolism before treatment was associated with reduced clinical PTSD scores after EMDR (p = 0.03). Conclusions: The posterior cerebellum and its metabolic connectivity with the precuneus are involved in the clinical efficiency of EMDR in PTSD.

The affluent worker study has held sway as one of the most important works, if not the most important work in British sociology over the last decade. Its findings remain unchallenged in the literature to date. Many analyses of industrial behaviour, political behaviour, family behaviour and "community" behaviour take the findings as the starting point of their investigation. For British sociology the findings of the Affluent Worker have foundation status. This paper sets out to fault the claims of prototypicality and typicality made for the affluent workers of Luton by the study team.

The COVID-19 pandemic has brought about an unprecedented global crisis. To limit the spread of the virus and the associated excess mortality, states and governing bodies have produced a series of regulations and recommendations from a health perspective. The funerary aspects of these directives have reconfigured not only the ways in which the process of dying can be accompanied, but also the management of dead bodies, impacting on the dying, their relatives and professionals in the sector. Since March 2020, the entire process of separation and farewell has been affected, giving rise to public debates about funeral restrictions and the implications for mourning. We carried out a study in France and Switzerland to measure the effects of this crisis, and in particular to explore whether it has involved a shift from a funerary approach to a strictly mortuary one. Have the practices that would normally be observed in non-pandemic times been irrevocably altered? Does this extend to all deaths? Has there been a switch to an exclusively technical handling? Are burial practices still respected? The results of the present study pertain to the 'first wave' of spring 2020 and focus on the practices of professionals working in the funeral sector.

Municipalities in Norway and Finland have undergone reform processes during the current century, in which they have been merged with other municipalities with the aim of increasing cost-effectiveness and the efficiency of local administration. The purpose of this study is to examine how the role of state-level administration and politics has influenced the merger processes in two Finnish and two Norwegian municipalities during the countries' respective local reform periods, and how the role of national influence has differed when comparing the reforms of the two countries. In order to find answers to these questions, administrative and political leadership of two Finnish and two Norwegian municipalities were interviewed about the reform processes at their respective municipalities, and about the role of the state in them. The results showed that the role of the state increased in a merger process if the local leadership had difficulties to carry out a locally agreed merger process. Additionally, the state was more proactive to guide mergers in Norway in the beginning of the merger process, while in Finland the state played a more reactive role in the mergers, resulting in more intervention at the end of the local processes. These results suggest that the competence of the local leadership as well as shared understanding and consensus among local stakeholders about the change process are important factors of successful local reforms. On this basis, discourse about local reforms should move away from a revolution-oriented approach towards an evolution-oriented approach, where focus is directed towards the quality of local resources which constitute not only for the development of local service-production and autonomy, but also for the development of local identity and meaning.

This paper investigates the potential mediating role of job satisfaction between role stressors, namely role conflict and role ambiguity as sources of stress, on the one hand, and various facets of organizational commitment, namely affective, continuance and normative, on the other. A sample of 361 employees in a number of organizations in the United Arab Emirates was used. Path analysis revealed that role ambiguity directly and negatively influences both affective and normative commitments. Results also revealed that job satisfaction directly and positively influences affective and normative commitments and negatively influences continuance commitment‐low perceived alternatives. Results further suggest that both role conflict and role ambiguity directly and negatively influence job satisfaction. It was also found that job satisfaction mediates the influences of role conflict and role ambiguity on various facets of organizational commitment, except continuance commitment‐high personal sacrifice. Implications, future lines of research and limitations are discussed.

The aging problem has brought a series of problems to each country, among which the elderly support issue is the most prominent and intractable. China and Korea have a large number of elderly people and a fast speed of aging of population. The pressure of old-age support in two countries is self-evident. Elderly support is closely related to political economic development and social cultural background. Both being in the East Asia, China and Korea have similarities and comparability in cultural aspects, rapid social economic development and the influence of political factors, etc. This paper presents a comparative study of China and Korea's elderly support by examining the characteristics and development trend of aging population, the similarities and differences of family support and society support between the two countries. In this paper, the political, economic and cultural factors on old-age support is analyzed. It is the influence of Confucianism let to their commonality in the dominance of family support, as well as the rapid social economic changes led to the same trend that the family support is weakened in the two countries. Regrading to the differences, this paper argues that the introduction of Elderly-Friendly Industry Promotion Act has played a critical part in providing legal protection and support for the development of aging industry in Korea, hence leading to the higher level of society support for the elderly in Korea than China. Health literacy (HL) is the capacity of individuals, families, and communities to make sound health decisions in the context of everyday life: at home, at the workplace, and in the community, marketplace, healthcare sector, and political arena. The aim of this study is to validate the Italian version of the short form (HLS-EU-Q16) and of the short-short form (HLS-EU-Q6) of the HLS-EU-Q47, as a part of a research conducted to assess the level of HL in a population-based sample in Florence. Two-hundred twenty-three subjects (57% females; age: 53.7±11.8 years) were interviewed. The results provided the first evidence for the reliability and validity of the HLS-EU-Q instruments (HLS-EU-Q16, HLS-EU-Q6, General-HL Index) in Italian general population. The differences in some of the results with respect to other published studies lay for specific cultural characteristics, that affect HL level and the relationships between HL, antecedents, and outcomes.

This article investigates the role of music in presidential election campaigns and political movements inspired by theoretical arguments in Henri Lefebvre's Rhythmanalysis, John Dewey ́s pragmatist rethinking of aesthetics and existing scholarship on the politics of music. Specifically, it explores how musical rhythms and melodies enable new forms of political awareness, participation, and critique in an increasingly polarized Brazil through an ethnomusicological exploration of how left-wing and right-wing movements used music to disseminate politics during the 2018 election that culminated in the presidency of Jair Messias Bolsonaro. Three lessons can be learned. First, in Brazil, music breathes life, energy, and affective engagement into politics—sung arguments and joyful rhythms enrich public events and street demonstrations in complex and dynamic ways. Second, music is used by right-wing and left-wing movements in unique ways. For Bolsonaro supporters and right-wing movements, jingles, produced as part of larger election campaigns, were disseminated through massive sound cars in the heart of São Paulo while demonstrators sang the national anthem and waved Brazilian flags. In contrast, leftist musical politics appears to be more spontaneous and bohemian. Third, music has the ability to both humanize and popularize bolsonarismo movements that threaten human rights and the rights of ethnic minorities, among others, in contemporary Brazil. To contest bolsonarismo, Trumpism, and other forms of extreme right-wing populism, we cannot close our ears and listen only to grooves of resistance and songs of freedom performed by leftists. We must also listen to the music of the right.

This Study have purpose to measure the website quality of Transparency Public Information in Pejambon Village. Website utilization in Government activity progress is the first step e-Government implementation. In Bojonegoro Regency, one of village which successfully implementing the transparency public information based on website is Pejambon Village Government. Village located in the Sumberrejo Sub-District has received many awards, in Regency, Province, and also National. It indicates that Pejambon Village Government has a good quality website, that can be an example for other village. Webqual 4.0 based on community or users perception is the method used to find out the quality of the website. This research is descriptive with quantitative approach. Results of the research showed that website quality of Pejambon Village Government based on usability, information usability, and service interaction quality dimension is in the high category. Hal tersebut menandakan desa tersebut memiliki kualitas website yang baik, sehingga dapat menjadi contoh bagi desa lain. Tiga dimensi Webqual 4.0 yaitu dimensi kegunaan, dimensi kualitas informasi, dan dimensi kualitas layanan digunakan untuk mengukur kualitas website Pemerintah Desa Pejambon. Penelitian ini bersifat deskriptif dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa secara umum kualitas website Pemerintah Desa Pejambon masuk kategori tinggi, akan tetapi untuk dimensi kualitas informasi perlu ditingkatkan karena masih rendah dibandingkan dimensi lainnya.
