Η εξέταση των αρχιτεκτονικών επιρροών στη μεσαιωνική Ιταλία υπό το πρίσμα των πολιτικών και πολιτιστικών επαφών με το Βυζάντιο διαφαίνεται σε μια σειρά ναών στους οποίους η στέγαση με τρούλο υποδεικνύει αυτήν την έμπνευση και λειτουργεί ως σημείο ερμηνευτικής αναφοράς. Ανάλογος βαθμός επιρροών ανιχνεύεται από τη βυζαντινή αρχιτεκτονική σε εκείνη του σερβικού βασιλείου. Η δημιουργία μιας ιδιαίτερης μεικτής καλλιτεχνικής γλώσσας που αντλεί τόσο από έργα της υστεροβυζαντινής αρχιτεκτονικής της Κωνσταντινούπολης, όσο και από την ιταλική υστερορωμανική/γοτθική χαρακτήρισε τη δυναστεία των Νεμανιδών και επιβίωσε αργότερα στη σχολή του Μοράβα. ; The overview of the architectural influences in medieval Italy seen under the prism of cultural and political exchanges with Byzantium can be exemplified in cases of churches where domed solutions have been employed for the covering of the nave. Similar degree of influences can be acknowledged from the Byzantine architecture towards that of the Serbian kingdom. The creation of a special and intermingled artistic language inspired both by the Late Byzantine architecture of Constantinople and by the Italian late Roman/Gothic was the unique feature that characterized the Nemanjić dynasty and survived in the Morava school as well.

<p><em>Η κεντρικότητα του βιώσιμου σχεδιασμού στην αρχιτεκτονική σκέψη σήμερα και η πολυσημία ως προς τα πεδία προσδιορισμού του εγείρουν ερωτήματα σχετικά με την πρόσληψή του από τον ίδιο τον αρχιτέκτονα. Η παρούσα μελέτη, βασισμένη στον παρατηρούμενο ερμηνευτικό πλουραλισμό του βιώσιμου σχεδιασμού στην αρχιτεκτονική γνώση και πρακτική, επιχειρεί να κατανοήσει τους λόγους αρχιτεκτόνων γύρω από αυτόν υπό το πρίσμα της θεωρίας των κοινωνικών αναπαραστάσεων. Αντλώντας από τα ευρήματα συνεντεύξεων βάθους με έλληνες αρχιτέκτονες, ξεδιπλώνονται τα γνωρίσματα της αναπαράστασης του βιώσιμου σχεδιασμού, τα οποία τον διαφοροποιούν από τους προσλαμβανόμενους μη βιώσιμους σχεδιασμούς, καθώς και οι μηχανισμοί ανάδυσης της αναπαράστασης.</em></p>

Τα τεχνητά νευρωνικά δίκτυα είναι ένας επιστημονικός τομέας, ο οποίος έχει αναπτυχθεί σταδιακά με τα χρόνια και έχει υιοθετηθεί σε πολυάριθμα πεδία μελέτης λόγω της ικανότητάς του να επεξεργάζεται και να ανακαλύπτει μοτίβα από ακατέργαστα δεδομένα. Ο στόχος ενός μοντέλου νευρωνικών δικτύων είναι η επίλυση υπολογιστικών προβλημάτων, χρησιμοποιώντας διαφορετικές τεχνικές και μαθηματικές διαδικασίες. Ένα τέτοιο πρόβλημα είναι η ατμοσφαιρική ρύπανση, ένα ζήτημα που γίνεται ολοένα και πιο σοβαρό για την υγεία του ευρύτερου κοινού. Οι κυβερνήσεις και οι πολίτες απαιτούν έναν τρόπο να γνωρίζουν εκ των προτέρων μια εικόνα για το πώς θα είναι η ποιότητα του αέρα με σκοπό να πάρουν τη πρωτοβουλία και να ενεργήσουν ανάλογα. Στόχος αυτής της διπλωματικής εργασίας είναι η ανάπτυξη ενός μοντέλου νευρωνικών δικτύων που θα λαμβάνει ως είσοδο ιστορικά δεδομένα της ατμόσφαιρας και θα μπορεί να προβλέψει τις μελλοντικές τιμές των ρύπων που επηρεάζουν την ποιότητα του αέρα. Η υλοποίηση θα πραγματοποιηθεί με τη γλώσσα προγραμματισμού Python και τη χρήση βιβλιοθηκών που αναπτύχθηκαν για μηχανική μάθηση. Στο πλαίσιο της διπλωματικής εργασίας μελετήθηκαν 6 ερευνητικές εργασίες για τα διαφορετικά είδη μοντέλων νευρωνικών δικτύων πάνω σε δεδομένα που σχετίζονται με την ατμοσφαιρική ρύπανση και την πρόβλεψη χρονοσειρών. Επιπλέον, αναπτύχθηκαν πολλαπλοί διαφορετικοί τύποι νευρωνικών δικτύων προκειμένου να πραγματοποιηθεί η τελική αρχιτεκτονική του προτεινόμενου μοντέλου. Ακόμα, διεξήχθη πειραματισμοί για τον προσδιορισμό των καλύτερων παραμέτρων για το μοντέλο και αξιολογήθηκε τόσο για την απόδοση και την ακρίβειά του όσο και για τη γενίκευσή του σε περισσότερες από μία τοποθεσίες σε όλο τον κόσμο. ; Artificial Neural Networks is a scientific area, that has developed incrementally over the years and has been adopted to numerous fields of study due to its ability to process and discover patterns from raw data. The goal of a neural network model is to solve computational problems using different techniques and mathematical processes. One such problem is air pollution, an issue that is becoming more and more severe for the health of the general public. Governments and individuals require a way to know ahead of time and have an insight into how the quality of the air will be. That helps them take the initiative and act accordingly. The goal of this thesis is to develop a neural network model that will take as inputs historical data of the atmosphere, and it will be able to predict the future values of the pollutants that affect the quality of air. The implementation will be accomplished with the programming language Python and the usage of libraries that were developed for machine learning. In the context of the master thesis, 6 research papers were studied for the different types of neural network models on data related to air pollution and time series forecasting. Furthermore, multiple different types of neural networks were developed in order to realize the final architecture of the proposed model. In addition, plentiful experimentation was conducted to determine the best hyperparameters for the model and was assessed both for its performance and accuracy but also for its generalization to more than one location around the globe.

Η ακόλουθη μεταπτυχιακή διπλωματική εργασία, αποτελεί μια λεπτομερή ανάλυση των έξυπνων καρτών (smart cards), που χρησιμοποιούνται για ασφαλείς, αυθεντικοποιημένες συναλλαγές. Οι κάρτες αυτές έχουν το μέγεθος και το σχήμα πιστωτικών καρτών, αλλά επιπροσθέτως διαθέτουν μικροεπεξεργαστή, καθώς και ενσωματωμένη μνήμη. Η ανταλλαγή δεδομένων και πληροφοριών με τον εξωτερικό κόσμο γίνεται μέσω διεπαφών, ή μέσω ραδιοσυχνοτήτων RF. Οι κάρτες αυτές παρέχουν ένα περιβάλλον υψηλής ασφάλειας, στα δεδομένα τα οποία έχουν αποθηκευμένα εντός. Η παρεχόμενη ασφάλεια και η και η ευελιξία μεταφοράς τους, τις καθιστούν ευρέως διαδεδομένες, κατά το πρόσφατο παρελθόν, σε ένα σύνολο εφαρμογών, κυρίως στον οικονομικό/ τραπεζικό τομέα. Η παρούσα εργασία, περιλαμβάνει εκτενή περιγραφή των χαρακτηριστικών των έξυπνων καρτών, συμπεριλαμβανομένου των πρωτότυπων χαρακτηριστικών, των χαρακτηριστικών ασφαλείας, του προγραμματισμού και της διαχείρισής τους. Ακολούθως, επεκτείνεται στην λεπτομερή ανάλυση μεταβίβασης και ανάπτυξης πηγαίου κώδικα λειτουργικού συστήματος JavaCard, των καρτών αυτών από τις ήδη υπάρχουσες διαθέσιμες αρχιτεκτονικές βασισμένες σε μικροεπεξεργαστές MX51 8051, σε νέας γενιάς ARM Cortex M3. Η ανάλυση επικεντρώνεται κυρίως στον τομέα της διαχείρισης του λειτουργικού συστήματος Commmgr. Περιλαμβάνει επιπλέον, βασική περιγραφή και ανάλυση της ασφάλειας, της ανάπτυξης λειτουργικού κώδικα Java Card, της ατομικότητας των συναλλαγών, του τείχους προστασίας εφαρμογών, της αρχιτεκτονική διαχείρισης λογισμικού Commmgr των καρτών αυτών, έτσι ώστε να παρέχει το απαραίτητο υπόβαθρο στον αναγνώστη. Τα δύο κύρια χαρακτηριστικά των smart cards είναι η ασφάλεια και η ευελιξία που παρέχουν στον χρήστη. Σχεδόν το σύνολο των εφαρμογών που χρησιμοποιούν smart cards, βασίζονται στο ότι είναι πολύ δύσκολο να πλαστογραφηθούν ή στο να κάνουν προσβάσιμα τα προστατευμένα δεδομένα που είναι αποθηκευμένα μέσα σε αυτές. Αν για κάποιο λόγο η ασφάλεια των smart cards τεθεί σε κίνδυνο, είναι σχεδόν αδύνατο να τεκμηριωθεί/ αποδειχθεί η χρήση τους. Οι smart cards χρησιμοποιούνται σε ένα πλήθος εφαρμογών, όπως: αυτόματη συγκομιδή εισιτηρίων σε λεωφορεία, τρένα και αερομεταφορές, τραπεζικές συναλλαγές, ηλεκτρονικό πορτοφόλι, βιομετρικές εξακριβώσεις, έλεγχο πρόσβασης, κινητή τηλεφωνία, έλεγχο αποθεμάτων/ εμπορευμάτων, προγράμματα πιστότητας. Κυβερνητικές, οικονομικές υπηρεσίες, μεταφορές, τηλεπικοινωνίες, υπηρεσίες υγείας, εκπαίδευσης, λιανικής πώλησης, και πολλές ακόμη υπηρεσίες/ βιομηχανίες σκοπεύουν ή ήδη έχουν υιοθετήσει την χρήση smart cards, ως ένα μέσω παροχής μεγαλύτερης ασφάλειας και παροχής βελτιωμένων υπηρεσιών στους χρήστες. ; The following master thesis, it is a case study analysis of smart cards (Secure element devices), used for security based, authentication, and payment transactions. These cards have the size and shape of credit cards, but contain microprocessor and memory. They interchange data with the outside world through contacts or radio frequency. These cards provide a great deal of security for the data stored inside them. The security and mobility inherent in these cards have made them grow in popularity in the recent past for a number of applications, mainly in the financial area. This thesis includes description of the basic characteristics of a smart card, including standards, security features, programming and management of the cards. It goes through the process of implementing a detailed analysis for porting java card operating system source code, from existing java cards, based on SMART MX51 8051 microcontroller to ARM Cortex M3 family based. It includes also a basic analysis- overview of smart card security, Java Card programming language, transaction atomicity, applet firewall, secure element Commmgr software architecture, to provide reader a good basic background. The two main characteristics of a smart card are its security and mobility. Almost all the applications that use a smart card are based on the fact that it is very difficult to forge the card or to access protected data on the card. If for some reason or other the security of the smart card could be compromised, it would be almost impossible to justify its use. Smart cards are used in a wide variety of applications: automatic fare collection in buses, trains and airline travel, financial transactions, electronic purse, biometric identification, access control, phones, warehouse and inventory control, loyalty programs. Government, financial services, transportation, telecommunications, healthcare, education, retail, and many other industries are planning to or already using smart cards as a means of providing better security and improved services to its customers and users.

287 297 153 ; S ; [EN] There are numerous passive strategies for reducing energy consumption in Spanish traditional vernacular architecture, depending on external conditions and also on the intended use of the interior of these constructions. In the case study analyzed, localized in an interior area of Spain, known as La Mancha, a set of vernacular buildings have been studied. Solar protection and solar gain, for example, are the key resources related to solar control. While cross ventilation, self-ventilation, or induced ventilation are related to the energy efficiency of the airflow. Other mechanisms identified are, for example, thermal insulation and thermal inertia of the materials. All these K-factors have been checked and parameterized in order to understand these vernacular strategies. Finally, thanks to a comparison of such resources, the study achieved a set of criteria for the use of these solutions in contemporary local architecture. These are the method and form of the policy exercise that 15M deploys in urban public space. Organised using a precise methodology, air assemblies constitute a rhythmic street occupancy exercise which puts not only speech but also the bodies of its participants at the forefront of their practice. In her street, the assemblies carry out the most genuine political gesture: the aeration of things that concern us. In this article we wonder about the political atmosphere brought to the city by the assemblies and we highlight two unique aspects: an outpatient architecture characterised by constant transit and concern for care practices. The first part of this study, which is at the crossroads of architecture and anthropology, focuses on the genesis of colonial cities, tracks the different stages of their constitution and assesses the immediate effects of this new urban development on the societies involved. The second part looks at the co-colonial-metropolitan influences through architecture, particularly during colonial exhibitions. ; La première partie de cette étude, qui est à la croisée de l'architecture et de l'anthropologie, s'attache à la genèse des villes coloniales, retrace les différentes étapes de leur constitution et évalue les effets immédiats de ce nouvel urbanisme sur les sociétés en présence. La seconde partie s'intéresse aux influences réciproques colonie-métropole au travers de l'architecture, particulièrement à l'occasion des expositions coloniales.

International audience This article explores the interaction between habitability and urban accessibility in Covid-19 time. If urban habitability is constituted by a series of adjustments and readjustments that any city makes over time to allow for 'coexistence' in both ordinary and extra-ordinary times, we hypothesize that the notion of accessibility is operative to understand how the city redesigns itself in the Covid-19 era. We conducted a cartographic investigation with students from the École Nationale Supérieure d'Architecture de Paris La Villette, which aimed to understand how an idea of urban accessibility might re-emerge from the spatial transcription of government-imposed restrictions. To begin this demonstration, we carried out a 'cartographic operation' based on Giambattista Nolli's method, invented to map the city of Rome in 1748.

International audience Forests take up a central position in the issue of climate change. Indeed, they offset part of our greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions every year, while products of the forestry and forest-based industry can be used as substitutes for materials and fossil fuels that produce significant amounts of GHG emissions. But as a result of climate change, forests and their services are themselves also vulnerable. In this article, authors describe the proposal published by The Shift Project association to revitalise the forestry and forest-based industry in the European Union (EU) with the aim of reducing its GHG emissions. Having recalled the role played by European forests in carbon sequestration and provided an overview of the timber industry in the EU, the authors suggest that substitution of high-emission construction materials (concrete, steel, aluminium, etc.) by wood products should be doubled by 2050. They then consider actions that should be undertaken so as to achieve that objective: increase in production of wood, redirecting flows and structuring of the industry. The implementation of this programme would enable the EU to reduce its emissions by at least 100 million tonnes of CO2 in 2050 while also benefitting from other economic, social and environmental advantages. ; La forêt occupe une place centrale dans la question du changement climatique.
