; The article considers the activity of the local organizations of nationwide political parties within the territory of the modern Republic of Mordovia after the defeat of the Russian revolution in 1905-1907. The author indicates that the activity of opposition political parties members was not finished with the completion of revolutionary events. Particular attention is paid to the limitation of the anti-government activity of political organizations in 1907-1908 caused by the defeat of the main revolutionary centres and the expulsion of their most active representatives during the first Russian revolution.
; The contemporary historiography has dispelled the Soviet myth about the logical crash of the Party of Socialists-Revolutionaries, and then it's created the presentations that the Socialists-Revolutionaries were the democratic alternative to bolshevism. The author of the article by using the party documents came to a resume that the democratic orientation of the Socialist Revolutionaries was combined with centralism, which some leaders transformed to authoritarian trending.
; In historiography of the socialist-revolutionary party the peasantry and land-socialization issues were mainly in the center of attention, whereas the workforce and factory and plant-socialization issues escaped their consideration. The deviation from the initially declared principles of democracy led to the «centralization oriented program», that is, the solution of the «workforce» issue was associated with the state authority to grant rights rather than the self-organization of the industrial proletariat.
; The article deals with the activities of the prominent Russian-American sociologist P.A. Sorokin as a member of the Socialist Revolutionary Party. The paper traces the main stages of his involvement in the political struggle until the forced emigration from Russia in 1922.
; The paper is devoted to the modern German historiography of the Socialist Revolutionary Party. Its formation began right after the end of the revolution and Civil War in Russia due to the emigration of intelligentsia, including opponents of Bolshevism. In the period of the National Socialist State this topic was not a priority in German historiography. Once again German researchers paid their attention to it due to the "cold war" between the West and the Soviet Union. German historiography of the Socialist Revolutionary Party received its further development in 1970-1990 when the history of the party attracted Western researchers. It is obvious that Socialist Revolutionaries interested M. Hildermeier and other experts on Eastern European history (the most competent scholars, in the author's opinion, such as H. Altrichter, D. Geyer, D. Bayrau, K. D. Grothusen, B. Bonwetsch among them), first of all, as the most significant political opponent of Bolshevism, communism, totalitarianism. Moreover, an obvious falsification of the Socialist Revolutionaries history in the Soviet Union provided German researchers with an indisputable advantage over their Soviet colleagues although the former often brought the elements of apologetics and idealization into their works on Socialist Revolutionaries. The researchers examined the issues related to the party genesis, its attitude to the worker and peasant issues, war and peace, the practice of terror against the leaders of the Bolshevik and autocratic state. Historians tried to understand and explain the reasons for the victory of "proletarian" socialism over the "agrarian" one. In addition, they were interested in the conditions of the Bolshevik-Left Socialist Revolutionary Union, the government coalition, its prospects and collapse. Inadequate perception of the realities of political struggle, an extreme degree of disorderliness, permanent intraparty splits and crises, lack of a broad social basis, Bolshevik and White Guard repressions became the cause of "agrarian" socialism defeat. In the author's opinion, German researchers were able to create their own concept of history both of the Socialist Revolutionary Party and of Left Socialist Revolutionaries. They offered original conclusions and judgements, identified the main areas for further research in the study of history of both Socialist Revolutionaries and neopopulist organizations operating in parallel Popular Socialists, Socialist Revolutionary maximalists.

; The parties took an active part in the 1905-1907 events and managed to involve broad masses into revolutionary activities by their agitation and propaganda, despite the defeat of the first Russian revolution. They understood that they were able to influence the society and political developments. The defeat of the revolution, the adoption of new election law and the alteration of the whole political system caused confusion among the parties. They had to analyze the experience of the first revolution, to "correct all the mistakes" and to adjust their tactics to the future. After the revolution a great number of parties' conventions and conferences were held to discuss the results of the 1905-1907 events and the roots of the failure. Despite the fact that the parties belonged to different political trends and used opposite tactics, they estimated the results of their activities very similar. The main achievement of the parties during the first revolution, according to their own views, was the ability to spread their ideas and programs among broad masses and transformation to mass parties from small groups of activists. The Duma was seen as the main platform for conveying their ideas to broad masses though it turned out to be very difficult to maintain the results of the propaganda efforts among the masses due to bad organization and poor coordination on national and regional levels as well as the lack of experienced party workers. As a result the parties were in equal conditions experiencing problems in retaining people and influencing their minds.
