ПАТРІОТИЗМ ОЧАМИ ПАНЕГІРИСТІВ УКРАЇНСЬКОГО БАРОКО
The article is devoted to the analysis of the patriotic motives which were, in particular, manifested in the defense of the motherland with patriotism being a guarantee of the validity of the social claims of the Cossacks as new Ukrainian elite of the XVIIth century. The specific role of the above motives in the poetics of mainly panegyric works in the Ukrainian literature of the first half of the XVIIth century is considered. The importance of this period for the formation of national culture including in particular the literature of the Baroque era, which is a period of significant social and worldview changes in Ukrainian history, is emphasized. Considerable attention is paid to the successive comparison of the functioning of the patriotic motives in the panegyric tradition of the Ukrainian literature of the times of Kievan Rus and the first half of the XVIIth century. The author compares the panegyrics dedicated to Ukrainian magnates of princely origin with similar works dedicated to the most prominent representatives of the Cossack leaders, in particular, the figure of Petro Konashevych Sahaidachny in "Verses on a Pitiful Burial." by Kasyan Sakovich. At the same time, it is possible to trace the influence of not only the panegyric tradition of the princely era, but also the significant role, played in the formation of Ukrainian literature including in particular the literary panegyric of the Baroque era by Western European, especially Polish, panegyric traditions, since Polish literature was experiencing its "Golden Age" during that period. Much attention is also paid to the organic interconnection between patriotic and military motives as well as the emphasis on the courage and military valor of the panegyric literature heroes. The organic rooting of the above components of the poetics of the Baroque panegyric literature in the pan-European tradition of the military-heroic epic is outlined.
