El presente trabajo de investigación tiene como objetivo analizar las representaciones de género en las imágenes y la propaganda del PCP-SL como testimonio gráfico de la configuración política del PCP-SL. Para alcanzar una mejor comprensión, en este tema se aborda cómo y con qué finalidad pedagógica-educativa son representados, en imágenes y gráficos, los sujetos de la guerra y la posición política que estos expresan. Al mismo tiempo, se tratan temas relativos a la caracterización de la mujer en la historia (incluida la reflexión que realiza el PCP-SL sobre el lugar de la mujer en la historia y su carácter de subordinación, pero desde una «posición de clase»), su exclusión como protagonista, su politización, su incorporación al Movimiento Femenino Popular (MFP) y su participación en la lucha armada dirigida por el PCP-SL, que ponen de relieve la importancia de la mujer para la organización. Más adelante, se realiza un análisis de los discursos de género que se expresan en las representaciones del PCP-SL según diversos ejes temáticos que propongo, cada uno de los cuales es abordado y tratado sucintamente. Estos ejes hacen referencia a diversas relaciones, tales como: mujer-líder, mujer-combatiente/hombre-combatiente, mujer-cuerpo armado y mujer-cuerpo materno, que, a su vez, dan origen a diversas relaciones derivadas, varias de las cuales expresan conceptos opuestos entre sí: subordinación-regencia (jerarquía) y alumna-maestro (pedagogía y jerarquía), igualdad e invisibilidad de diferencias corporales y de género e individualidad-colectividad, pasividad-acción, subordinación-liberación, renuncia personal e intereses colectivos. From combating to supporting pop music. This astonishing fact has often been explained as being the result of the large investments in municipal music schools that took place in Sweden from 1940. The explanation holds an interesting paradox. Most municipal music schools began with the aim to teach young people appreciate more valuable music (i.e. classical) than the popular music of the entertainment industry. Around 1940 there was a large debate on the "Dance-floor-misery". Christians and conservatives attacked the public amusements available in abundance, arguing that they led to moral shallowness among the youth. It was especially young people's contact with dance and popular music offered in open-air dance-floors and dance-pavilions that caused most harm. The debate began in 1938 with an official letter to the Government from the bishop of Växjö. It led to the forming of a Royal committee assigned to find ways to decontaminate the unsatisfactory state of the entertainment industry. In Växjö the Church and the municipality joined forces forming a Youth Council. Its main achievement was to start a music school in 1947. During the 1970s it became one of the most successful in Sweden, thanks to its tolerant views on modern genres and instruments used in popular music. By 1980 it had driven a once prosperous music school run by the town's largest music shop out of business. This school ? Hagstrom's music school ? had started in 1944. Its main aim was to meet the demand for education on instruments like accordion, guitar, saxophone, keyboard and drums, instruments used in popular dance-music.The Växjö case elucidates the process that led the once detested popular music to become accepted and fully incorporated into the curricula of the municipal music schools. This process will be linked to the thesis that a hegemonic culture has somehow to adopt prevailing views and tastes among the dominated in order to survive (cf. To investigate the longitudinal association between neighbourhood cohesion and loneliness as well as perceived social isolation prior and during the COVID-19 pandemic (stratified by sex). Methods:
Longitudinal data were taken from a nationally representative sample (German Ageing Survey) of inhabitants aged 40 years and over in Germany prior (wave 6: year 2017) and during the COVID-19 pandemic (wave 8: November 2020 until February 2021; n = 6688 observations, mean age was 67.4 years). The De Jong Gierveld tool was used to measure loneliness and the Bude and Lantermann tool was used to measure perceived social isolation. Neighbourhood cohesion was assessed based on different items.Results: FE regressions showed that decreases in closeness of contact with neighbours were associated with increases in loneliness and perceived social isolation levels among men, but not women. In contrast, decreases in different indicators of involvement in neighbourhood activities were associated with increases in loneliness and perceived social isolation levels among women, but not men.Conclusions: Changes in neighbourhood factors are differently associated with loneliness and perceived social isolation among middle-aged and older women and men. Gender-specific efforts to avoid loneliness and social isolation are, therefore, needed.

The partial improvement in the level of education of Arab children and youth is evident in qualitative and quantitative indices, as well as in the level of infrastructure of the Arab education system. Nevertheless, socio-economic gaps between Arab and Jewish children and youth continue to exist, and it is apparent that the rate of improvement does not keep pace with the growing needs of Arab society in the field of education. In the last decade, the government has adopted a series of five-year plans for the socio-economic development of Arab minority. However, there is a significant gap between Arab education and Hebrew education in important indicators, such as financial investment per pupil, infrastructure (buildings and classrooms), educational frameworks outside the school hours, and the rate of entitlement to matriculation.At the beginning of the eighth decade of the State of Israel, the real challenge of the Arab education system in Israel is not necessarily quantitative, but qualitative. Local and regional governments in western European peripheral areas aim to spur leisure-led regional development. We explore planning for leisure by applying an evolutionary economic geography (EEG) approach from a complexity perspective. We identify conditions which enable and constrain leisure development and its effects on the region as a whole. This means combining the local level of individual adaptations with the institutional setting and with the regional scale. We examine the Dutch province of Fryslan and explore by means of case study analysis how current leisure development processes can be explained in a complex evolutionary manner. We explore economic novelty as a result of individual adaptations; how such adaptations through interactions create emerging spatial patterns; how these spatial patterns form self-organizing new types of order; and the way this process is dependent on previous paths whilst also creating new pathways. Our findings show that although development is dependent on individual adaptations often stemming from a few actors, for such adaptations to have an effect on the region requires a connectivity between actors and a sense of urgency amongst those actors. Using a complex EEG approach allows us to explain leisure-led regional development as the product of these conditions. This can help planners deal with the complexity and unpredictability of this process, focusing not on a desired end goal as such, but on creating the conditions in which a more autonomous development can take place.

En septiembre de 2007, el Área Cultural del Banco de la República y el Observatorio del Caribe Colombiano realizaron el vii Simposio sobre la Historia de Cartagena. El tema del encuentro fue el breve período, desde el punto de vista histórico, comprendido entre 1808 y 1821, los años que llevaron a la independencia definitiva de España. Esos trece años fueron una época de gran trascendencia para Cartagena, pues marcaron una ruptura, un punto de quiebre, en la línea ascendente que venía teniendo en su economía, población, influencia militar y crecimiento urbano, y constituyeron el catalizador de la crisis en muchos órdenes en que se sumió la ciudad durante la mayor parte del siglo xix. Al Simposio, por lo tanto, fue invitado un selecto grupo de expositores, representativos de diferentes profesiones, nacionalidades y perspectivas, para analizar las múltiples facetas del período.La historiografía tradicional cartagenera ha otorgado especial énfasis a dos períodos en la historia de la ciudad: la conquista y la independencia. También se ha dado gran importancia a la recopilación de documentos atinentes a esas dos épocas. Se podría pensar, entonces, que la independencia, el tema del Simposio cuyas ponencias se publican en este libro, es un período sobre estudiado. Nada es menos cierto. La historiografía tradicional concentró su atención en los que consideró los hechos y personajes más memorables, que se distinguieron por su valentía en las luchas militares y por su protagonismo en los sucesos políticos. Es decir, lo que la Escuela de los Annales ha denominado la historia de los eventos, la que se registró en los periódicos de la época. La historia de ritmos más lentos —aquélla que tiene que ver, por ejemplo, con las mentalidades, la economía, las relaciones sociales, la evolución del paisaje— no se ha abordado hasta la fecha de manera sistemática.Los trabajos que se incluyen en este libro contribuyen a avanzar en esa tarea, pues algunos abordan temáticas relativamente inexploradas en la historiografía local de la independencia y otros profundizan en tópicos ya conocidos, pero desde ángulos nuevos. Temas como las relaciones políticas con las demás provincias de la Nueva Granada, las relaciones raciales y étnicas, el papel de los militares venezolanos, la importancia de la prensa local, la iconografía de la época y la trayectoria de la economía, estaban ausentes de la historiografía tradicional sobre el período. Todavía otros temas, aunque ya habían sido tratados, se han beneficiado con la exploración de nuevas fuentes y perspectivas. Este último es el caso de los trabajos sobre el sitio de Morillo, los costos humanos de la lucha independentista, las fortificaciones y el Consulado de Comercio, entre otros.
