本文希望探討弱勢小學如何在教育市場化趨勢下,因為收生不足而被教統局宣佈殺校,然而經過學校持分者的奮鬥,一年後竟能取錄足夠學生,成功逆轉重生。研究對象學校近年取錄的學生人數一直上升,甚至成為社區上受歡迎的學校。弱勢學校在汰弱留強的市場定律下竟能逆轉重生,這個香港教育界的特殊現象,箇中原因及意義便是本文著意的地方。 ; 本文採用質性研究方法,邀請兩所位於不同貧窮社區的小學接受研究。兩所小學同樣經歷逆轉重生,其中一所小學甚至兩次殺校。在具體田野操作方面,本文採用民族誌研究方法,筆者透過長時間參與觀察、深度訪談、比較閱讀,整理兩所學校由殺校至今的逆轉發展脈絡。 ; 研究結果發現,兩所能夠成功逆轉重生的學校從:宏觀層面、中介層面和微觀層面,均能啟動和累積社會資本,並轉化為不同類型的資本,包括:文化資本,經濟資本等,以支援學校的非常態運作,避過殺校宿命。此外,研究發現兩所學校的教師團隊同樣呈現一條由社會資本轉化為教學專業資本的脈絡,並在校本課程的編訂和教學法的探索得到成效,讓學生學習蒙受其利,這是學校逆轉的背後策劃能量。 ; 本文期望教育領導人士能重新理解類教育市場脈絡的多端力量,並希望教育領導者了解學校在類教育市場的定位。另外,本文希望讓所有學校持分者重新理解社會資本在教育場域的正面能量。當中尤以校長為核心,啟動和轉化學校社會資本,他的信念和力量將是領導學校逆轉重生,以至持續發展的關鍵。 ; 最後,本文無意為弱勢學校逆轉重生的現象下定論,限於資料收集的局限、類教育市場脈絡、社會資本概念的複雜性,本文主要通過現有的材料和論據,為香港弱勢社群教育這個領域作為開拓研究的鋪墊。 ; This thesis attempts to answer the question about how a disadvantaged primary school experienced turnaround in a Quasi-education market. ; This is an ethnographic study, employing qualitative methods. Two primary schools from two low-income districts were invited to participate. They both suffered from "school closure"(殺校). One of them even went through it twice. Ethnographic research was conducted with Participant Observation, In-depth Interview and Comparative Reading throughout the research duration. ; The results of the research showed that two turnaround schools mobilized and accumulated social capital and transformed it into other forms of capital, such as cultural capital and economic capital, in order to support the schools' contingency plans on macro, meso and micro levels. ; Another finding is that the teaching teams of the two turnaround schools also showed a path of transforming social capital into teaching professional capital, including school-based curriculum designs and research into teaching methods. These efforts of the schools succeeded in creating a favorable condition for them not only to survive, but to flourish. ; This thesis hopes to call attention to two important facts: ; 1. 在全球基金總部要求擴大公民社會參與度的背景下,2006年4月,非政府組織聯合發起運動,反對中國全球基金國家協調委員會秘書處組織的兩名民間社會代表的選舉,要求增加參與權和改善選舉程式。本研究採用質性研究方法,對這場由非政府組織發起的政策倡導運動的發生原因、運動發起方的構成與真實力量、運動參與方在期間的互動過程與策略運用以及運動所能達成的成果展開分析,為社會運動理論在中國的適用與變化提供實證研究基礎上的探索,對非政府組織在中國環境下謀求組織發展及拓寬政治參與空間提出建議。 ; 本研究回顧了中國愛滋病問題的背景與現狀、西方社會運動研究理論體系與相關研究成果以及中國抗爭政治研究,採用動員結構與政治機會結構為核心的分析框架,發現: ; (1)在西方社會運動理論研究中沒有重要地位的傘狀組織關係在在CCM選舉運動動員結構中扮演了關鍵角色,增加了運動發起方的整體力量與合法性來源,並呈現出多層級傘狀組織結構。 ; (2)CCM選舉運動聯盟距離臨時性、適當制度化和去中心化的目標尚有距離,正在向理想的外部動員結構轉化,目前呈現出非政府組織聯盟與多層級傘狀組織相結合的動員結構。 ; (3)中國目前宏觀政治環境中存在倡導型運動的生存空間。通過一系列的策略選擇與運用,運動發起方可以發掘、詮釋、擴大政治機會,不斷營造運動發展空間,尤其是對國際因素的敏銳把握與利用,成功將運動不斷推進。 ; (4)政治機會結構四要素並不是平行發揮作用。在國家鎮壓能力基本穩定維持不變的情況下,政治體制內同盟者的存在對政治管道和政治精英體制穩定性發揮主導作用,進而對運動進程和結果帶來深遠影響。 ; 本研究提出了目前CCM選舉運動的動員結構特徵,以及運動發起方在對政治機會把握、利用過程中的優點與缺陷,並提議加入跨界拓展作為考察外部動員結構的分析視角,在政治機會結構四要素的分析中整合國際因素的影響,最後提出對非政府組織發展,國際項目管理和相關政策的建議。 ; Since Global Fund claimed for expanding public participation in civil society, in the April of 2006 NGOs made allies to launch a movement against the election organized by CCM Secretariat, requiring adding the right of participation and improving election procedures. With qualitative research method, this paper analyzes the reason, process and result including interactions and strategies among participants of this advocacy movement organized by NGOs, providing evidence-based study for employment and adaptation of the social movement theory in China; and makes suggestions for NGOs to expand organization development and political participation in the context of China. ; This study adopts mobilization structure and political opportunity structure in the theory of social movement as core theoretical framework based on reviewing the background and status quo of AIDS issue in China, the theory and relevant studies of social movement as well as studies on China contentious politics. For at least a century academics and governmental researchers have been developing measures that would aid them in understanding income distributions, their differences with respect to geographic regions, and changes over time periods. It is a fascinating area due to a number of reasons, one of them being the fact that different measures, or indices, are needed to reveal different features of income distributions. The existing indices, the Gini index, the Bonferroni index and the Zenga index are intrinsically linked each other, whereas their emphasis are laid differently. One of the limitations of the existing indices is that they provide an overall measurement for the whole society and cannot distinguish the distributions with the same index value. This thesis works on the extension of the three indices and proposes a new index which can make comparison between any groups with different income level, for example, the richest group and the poorest group. The new index satisfies the axioms of inequality measures. The statistical inferential results of the new index are derived and their performance are tested by a simulation study and the results are used to analyze the income data of Hong Kong from Census and Statistics Department, HKSAR. ; 近一個世紀學術界和政府間的研究人員一直致力於創造和發展可以幫助理解不同國家地區收入分布和差異的測度。很多原因使之成為令人感興趣的研究領域,需要不同測度或指數用以理解收入分布的不同特征便是原因之一。Gini指數,Bonferroni 指數和Zenga指數等現有指數在本質上相互聯系,但側重點各有不同。可以對整個社會有一個整體測度而不能對具有相同指數的收入分布進行區分是現有指數的共同缺陷。本論文基於以上三種指數提出一種新的指數可以在不同收入水平間進行比較,例如,最富有階層和最貧困階層。新指數滿足收入不均測度的相關性質。本論文推導出新指數的相關統計推理結果並用數值模擬實驗進行了測試,最終用其結果對香港政府統計處的人口普查數據進行了分析。 ; Chen, Teng. ; Thesis M.Phil. 虛擬現實(VR)為用家提供了一個結合了人工場境和現實世界的練習環境。隨著在醫療,軍事和娛樂行業日益增長的需求,虛擬現實化的設備將會越來越受歡迎。頭戴式顯示器(HMD)是一種利用自由曲面的光學棱鏡,以投射由微型顯示器顯示的圖像,讓用家能夠在近距離觀看和體驗虛擬環境的產品。 ; 頭戴式顯示器由兩個基本部分組成,液晶顯示屏和一個光學元件,以能夠在很短的距離顯示圖像到用家的眼睛。光學自由曲面棱鏡在HMD研究中是一個主要的課題。設計的棱鏡需要運用大多數的光學理論和一些商業光學設計軟件的輔助。在市場,只有有限的光學軟件能深入地協助設計光學元件和系統。同時,成本高昂和不容易使用的光學軟件令到光學設計並不普及的原因。在下面的部分將用光學軟件ZEMAX去驗證每個設計。 ; 自由曲面棱鏡的幾何形狀設計是為構建一個頭盔顯示器的關鍵問題。通常情況下,頭盔內自由曲面棱鏡由三面特別設計的非球面表面而組成。源圖像經過三個非球面反映後,可參照圖6,將圖像投射到人類視網膜上而形成圖像。棱鏡上的三個面的互相協調將是一個具有挑戰性的問題。 ; 跟據現有的產品和研究分析,研發了一種新風格的棱鏡。在這篇論文中,由射線追踪和光學理論的幫忙,建議了一款凸-平棱鏡作HMD上的光學棱鏡。利用光學設計軟件分析和優化以追求一個可穿戴和低像差的光學棱鏡作目標。光學棱鏡中有兩個面為平面,因此光線能在棱鏡中穩步地轉化,從而,降低光學系統的像差。製作了經優化表面定位的原型,雖然原型是成本低,但它們比半透明的鏡子有一個更好的分辨率。在新設計的一個HMD上,一個廣闊和清晰的圖像將顯示。 ; Virtual reality (VR) provides an artificial environment to user for practicing under a synthetic environment which merges the real world with artificial scene. In response to the growing demand in medical, military and entertaining application, devices that can simulate VR will become more and more popular. Head mounted display (HMD) is a kind of wearable products that utilize freeform optical prisms to project images generated by microdisplays, enabling users to situate in virtual environments. ; HMD has two basic components, a LCD and an optical element, to display image to naked eye in a short distance. An optical freeform prism will be a main research topic in HMD. To design the prism will require substantial knowledge in optical theory and the aid of some commercial optical design software. In the market, there is limited number of software for in depth optical analysis. Meanwhile, costly and not user-friendly software is a problem of unpopularity of optical design. Zemax has been used for verifying the each design in the below sections. ; The design of geometric shape for the freeform prism is crucial for constructing a HMD.
