The purpose of this paper is to discuss the origins and consequences of machination (Machenschaft) in the history of Western thought. For this purpose, we make an ontological-phenomenological reading of the question of technique from Heidegger's meditations, especially in his Contributions to Philosophy (Of the Event), published in 1989. The reflections here think of machination as a disposition that, in its genesis, reveals itself as an event beyond the strength and will of man, highlighting the abandonment and forgetfulness of being as founding events of history. We seek to show the true meaning of the historical condition of the entities in the contemporary context by showing how the occultation and the absence of being represent the original background of existence. Thus, the fundamental point of this text is the indication that the force of essential absence may have more robustness than the presence of any entity.
This article submission seeks to develop an appreciation for students policies of staying at the university in the context of North America with the focus in the province of Quebec, Canada. The mirror of the theme focuses on studies developped on success, perseverance and the abandonment of higher education. The study produced results from a brief examination focused on the theoretical discussion. To make the collection of texts one "search engine" that uses the ERIC data base. A bit more specific was found in the "engine" Atrium of the Université de Montréal. Google Scholar was consulted for a more general exploitation of the object of study. As the focused interest thematic was in Canada and Quebec a number of articles and selected texts was disregarded. Preserved the proportions noted challenges in the context of reference lend themselves to study the problem in Brazil, as well. Although the realities are different actions to enhance the permanence and perseverance lend themselves compared to combat the abandonment of higher education.
The growth of contingent of pluriactive farm families (pluriactivity) has increasingly been accepted as important in reducing rural poverty and unemployment since at least two decades in the EU and very recently in Brazil. This paper supports that, differently from the EU, in the South Brazil, region of modern capitalist agriculture, it is hard to the pluriactivity to grow through the years, and so that it can increase the public policies must be led mainly to avoid the exclusion of the small farms, their gradual abandonment of the traditional agricultural activities, and not only to offer them non agricultural occupations. Palabras clave: parto; anonimato; adopción; maternidad; derechos humanos Abandonment, adoption and anonymity: Questions of Maternal morality embedded in the "safe haven" laws We propose in this article to explore questions of maternal morality (abandonment, abortion, adoption) embedded in legislation known as "safe haven" laws. We follow a theoretical line that refuses naturalized notions of maternity (or paternity), opting instead for the emphasis on political processes that produce the various discourses of maternal morality. Thus, after a first reflection addressing the connection between abandonment and anonymity, we consider briefly the debates that took place in different national contexts (United States, France, Brazil) endorsing or rejecting laws dealing with anonymous abandonment. We will see that, nearly everywhere, the laws are justified with anecdotes about babies found in the trash bin. However, the laws take on diverse meanings in function of the specific national context, that is to say, of a configuration in which other maternal technologies, such as abortion and adoption, assume particular relevance. Throughout the debate runs a reflection on human rights – especially, on the role of the State in the control of information about filiation and personal identity. Keywords: safe haven laws; anonymity; adoption; maternity; human rights
Objective: This study aimed to analyze the experience of postpartum women during hospitalization of premature infants in the first stage of Kangaroo Care and know how the first skin to skin contact between mother and child through the kangaroo position collaborates with this experience. Methods: Descriptive, exploratory and qualitative study that is complied with the Resolution 196/96 of the National Board of Health, conducted through semi-structured interviews with twelve postpartum women in October, 2010. Results: Content analysis showed that postpartum women experience a period of stress in early hospitalization of premature infants during the first step of Kangaroo Care, represented by the abandonment of their daily activities and whole family. Conclusion: The kangaroo position provided the expression of feelings related to postpartum women happiness from realizing herself as a true mother, since they can participate in an indirect way of the sick child's care and promote conditions for their development.
"Cities in transformation" recounts the experiences of six port cities (New York, London, Cape Town, Havana, Buenos Aires and Rio de Janeiro) which were willing to face the challenges of renewal of their historical centers and port areas in the last 30 years, reversing long processes of abandonment, decay and deterioration. Organized by architect Ephim Shluger, who is also Vice President of IAB-RJ, and by urbanist Miriam Danowski, the work emphasizes the importance of integration of development with the quality of the urban fabric through measurable results. The revitalization project of the port of Rio de Janeiro, called Porto Maravilha (Marvelous Port) is highlighted in four essays that address its financial modeling; the promotion of entrepreneurship and small and medium-sized enterprises to support the site; the promotion of new economic opportunities in real estate investments; the social and environmental development and its new role as a cultural pole, including challenges to the conservation of the historic heritage. Experts invited to participate in the study, include names like Washington Fajardo, Jorge Wilheim, Hugo Barreto, Miguel Jurado and Lance Jay Brown
The text analyzes relations of Rorty's redescription - neo-pragmatic, analytical philosophical perspective - and approaches on education, with specific objectives: to reflect on epistemology, particularly the abandonment of the notion of knowledge as representation; to meditate on redescription as a metapractice inherent to the contexts of basic and college education, inspiring more libertarian, ethical, creative and political pedagogical routines; to present the redescription named Negociações Cronocapilares, of 2019, produced in the Mid-West, an artistic installation that should circulate among state schools. The redescription, methodology of the essay, proposes a teaching challenge, by questioning, from the foundations of knowing, even educational practices.
__________________________________________________________________________________________________ ABSTRACT ; This article concerns relations between care, emancipation and Social Work. The paper focuses on the recognition of the other as an individual and collective subject of rights, in the effectuation of his autonomy, democracy and citizenship in the context of social history, and as a subject, combines attention to his needs and expressions to social inclusion with ethical values and explicit processes of professional action.
; The economic difficulties of media companies, ethical-deontological lapses, technological progress and the globalisation of information flows have been seen as the main factors of the contemporary crisis in journalism. With repercussions on working conditions and the public image of journalists, these variables are, however, only the most visible face of threats to an activity that, according to Nelson Traquina (2002), has a symbiotic relationship with democracy. Beyond these economic, social and cultural circumstances are also the expectations of the professionals themselves. In an occupation so often described as passionate, the professional situation seems to be less and less rewarding, not only due to the decrease in job opportunities, with newsrooms increasingly empty, but also due to the lack of perspective on career progression. This is one of the results of the "Study on the Effects of the State of Emergency on Journalism in the Context of the Covid-19 Pandemic", conducted between May and June 2020. With a particular focus on reading journalists' expectations, in this article we analyse the symbolic representations of a job that founded its social legitimacy on an idea of public service. Based on studies about the profession and its representations, we tried to find answers to understand why the acceptance of precariousness and abandonment of the profession can still be understood as places of resistance.

; Tourism represents an important source of income in many countries. Aware of this fact, Ibero-American governments seek to invest in digital communication to promote themselves and position themselves as tourist destinations. Twitter is one of the most influential social networks in the commercial sphere, due to the amount of conversations it produces around brands, adding value to its image and influencing purchasing decisions. In addition, it is also a useful tool for collecting user opinions, due to the monitoring facility it provides. This network also allows organizations to provide personalized and immediate attention to their audiences, providing them with more pleasant contact experiences. This paper investigates the presence of Ibero-American governments on Twitter, as well as their interaction with 2.0 tourists. To this end, a comparative analysis was carried out between the months of March and August (including high and low seasons) of 2015 and 2018. The results showed that Ibero-American governments use Twitter as a platform for communication and tourism promotion, but without the presence of a communication strategy that strengthens the image and positioning of the tourist destination. It is not surprising, therefore, that there is a lack of planning for presence on the network, since periods of excessive participation in Twitter alternate with phases of abandonment, which affects the participation rates of the tourist and the involvement achieved.
; In Brazil, long-term care institutions for the elderly (ILPI) are the main long-term care providers for the elderly in situations of social vulnerability or fragile health. This study sought to analyze the perceptions of care managers and professionals who work in eight ILPI in different regions of Rio de Janeiro state regarding the institutionalization, difficulties of performing recommended care and how to improve these. A qualitative study was carried out that analyzed 38 semi-structured interviews: nine with care managers and 29 with care professionals. A thematic content analysis technique was used in trying to understand in the reports what the main challenges are to guarantee attentive and dignified care in these institutions. Violence has been found to be a major obstacle, which acts contrary to the care advocated. It manifests itself in different ways within the institutional reality: in the form of neglect and abandonment before institutionalization, but also within ILPI themselves. It appears in prejudices against the elderly: in the negative view of old age, in the infantilization and depersonalization of those that receive them, in the macro-political context, and by the absence or non-fulfillment of actions foreseen in public policies of attention to the elderly or in the lack of legislation that attends to their needs. Policies are necessary and need to be implemented. To this end, there should be more investment, especially in the training of professionals, so that long-term care is provided to the elderly in a dignified manner.
