Pogranično područje Hrvatske s Mađarskom u širem smislu obuhvaća dijelove četiri županije: Međimurske, Koprivničko-križevačke, Virovitičko-podravske i Osječko-baranjske. Konkretnije, u ovom se radu pogranično područje odnosi na gradove i općine unutar naprijed navedenih županija koje svojim teritorijem izlaze na državnu granicu. Riječ je o 26 jedinica lokalne samouprave, od kojih su tri grada i 23 općine sa ukupno 144 naselja. U tradicionalnom se smislu za europska pogranična područja najčešće vežu pojmovi poput prometne izoliranosti i perifernosti. U današnje vrijeme, međutim, u sklopu Europske Unije dolazi do njihove značajne društvene i ekonomske transformacije. To se posebno odnosi na schengenski prostor gdje granice više ne razdvajaju, nego spajaju susjedne države. Hrvatska je nova članica Europske Unije i kao takva još nije integrirana u schengenski prostor gdje je putovanje moguće bez granične kontrole. Stoga još uvijek nije došlo do transformacije hrvatskoga pograničnoga područja prema susjednim državama koje su članice EU, a to svojega odjeka ima u prošlim i aktualnim demografskim trendovima i procesima. Hrvatska granica s Mađarskom je najranije definirana hrvatska kopnena granica koja je uspostavljena još u srednjemu vijeku i vezana je u svojem najdužem dijelu uz tok rijeke Drave. Sve ostale kopnene granice Republike Hrvatske definirane su kasnije, s time da su tek nakon osamostaljenja Hrvatske postale državne (međunarodne) granice. Za vrijeme bivše Jugoslavije jedino je hrvatska kopnena granica s Mađarskom bila međunarodna. Ta je činjenica uvjetovala manju prekograničnu suradnju i povezanost nego što je to bio slučaj s ostalim granicama koje do prije tridesetak godina nisu bile međunarodne. Demografskom je analizom utvrđen depopulacijski i emigracijski karakter demografskih dinamičkih promjena u referentnom vremenskom razdoblju od popisa stanovništva 1981. do 2018. godine. Riječ je o kontinuiranim i prostorno izrazito homogenim negativnim demografskim trendovima (prirodni pad i negativna migracijska bilanca) koji značajno destabiliziraju koncept demografske održivosti kao uvjeta sveukupne društvene i ekonomske stabilizacije i revitalizacije pograničnoga područja što, dakako, ima i svoju sigurnosnu dimenziju. ; The border area of Croatia with Hungary in a broader sense includes parts of four counties: Međimurje, Koprivnica-Križevci, Virovitica-Podravina and Osijek-Baranja. More specifically, in this paper, the border area refers to cities and municipalities within the aforementioned counties that cross the state border with their territory. These comprise 26 local self-government units, of which three are cities and 23 municipalities with a total of 144 settlements. In the traditional sense, European border areas are most often associated with terms such as traffic isolation and peripherality. Nowadays, however, their social and economic transformation is taking place within the European Union. This is especially true in the Schengen area, where borders no longer separate, but connect neighboring countries. Croatia is a new member of the European Union and as such has not yet been integrated into the Schengen area where travel is possible without border controls. Therefore, the transformation of the Croatian border area towards the neighboring countries that are members of the EU has not yet taken place, and this has its echo in past and current demographic trends and processes. The Croatian border with Hungary is the earliest defined Croatian land border, which was established in the Middle Ages and is connected in its longest part along the Drava River. All other land borders of the Republic of Croatia were defined later, with the provison that only after the independence of Croatia did they become state (international) borders. During the former Yugoslavia, only the Croatian land border with Hungary was international. This fact led to less cross-border cooperation and connectivity than was the case with other borders that were not international until thirty years ago. Demographic analysis determined the depopulation and emigration character of demographic dynamic changes in the reference time period from the 1981 to 2018 census. These are continuous and spatially homogeneous negative demographic trends (natural decline and negative migration balance) that significantly destabilize the concept of demographic sustainability as a condition of overall social and economic stabilization and revitalization of the border area, which, of course, has its security dimension.
RIJEČ UREDNIŠTVANaslov uvodnika potaknut je građanskom inicijativom koja se u posljednje vrijeme širi Hrvatskom. Iako na facebook grupi, koja poziva na "tri zajednička dana uživanja u sadnji diljem Države" pod motom "Zasadi drvo, ne budi panj", prevladava entuzijazam i želja za jačanjem svijesti hrvatskih građana o očuvanju i zaštiti prirode, postoje i radikalniji osvrti na šumarsku struku i na trgovačko društvo Hrvatske šume, poput pitanja zašto se ne organiziraju javni radovi pošumljavanja? Tvrdi se da je to zato jer im je sječa prioritetnija od sadnje. Podmeće se teza: "Ne smiju oni posjeći više nego što mi možemo zasaditi!" Uzori akciji su velike sadnje u nekim zemljama poput Indije i Etiopije. Također poticaj akciji su i katastrofalni požari u plućima svijeta, Amazonskoj prašumi. Pohvalna je dobra volja i želja za ozelenjivanjem, ali ne mogu se uspoređivati zemlje u kojima vladaju drukčiji klimatski i stanišni uvjeti pa nakon sječe ili uništavanja šume požarima dolazi do deforestacije, nestaje tlo i šuma se ne obnavlja. U Republici Hrvatskoj je upravo obrnuto, na djelu je reforestacija, tj. šuma se širi na napuštene poljoprivredne i druge površine, tako da je danas gotovo pola države pod šumom, ali u različitim starosnim kategorijama. Ova akcija je samo odraz zabrinutosti običnog čovjeka, ali i određene neargumentirane histerije koja je pokrenuta protiv šumara u Hrvatskoj.S obzirom na sve učestalije i nekorektne napade na šumarsku struku, što je prevršilo svaku mjeru, potiče nas da se mi kao struka oglasimo. Možemo smireno, stručno i argumentirano, a možemo i bezobrazno kao što se nas napada. Ponajprije, za laike koji to žele čuti, kažemo da je sječa uzgojni zahvat. Šuma ili stablo ima nazovimo ga početak, rast kroz razne uzgojne faze do optimuma, a potom slijedi faza "odumiranja". Zadaća šumarske struke je prebroditi tu zadnju fazu upravo sječom starih stabala, polučiti korist društvu njihovom preradom, ali osiguravši prethodno u jednodobnim sastojinama u godini dobrog uroda sjemena prirodno pomlađivanje. Svakako prije bilo kakvog negativnog stava glede sječe, treba prići vrlo blizu površini gdje je do "jučer" bila npr. stara hrastova šuma te provjeriti da li i što sada raste na toj površini. U prebornoj pak šumi, npr. bukve i jele, prebiru se sječom stara dozrela stabla i ona koja smetaju podmlatku koji treba svijetla da bi ih zamijenio. Samo tamo gdje u potpunosti nije uspjelo prirodno naplođivanje, pa tako i na opožarenim površinama, ide se na pošumljavanje sjemenom ili tzv. "školovanim" sadnicama. Održati šumu vječnom, načelo je potrajnog gospodarenja, čime se ponosi hrvatska znanost i praksa, a što joj i šumarski svijet priznaje. Što rade Hrvatske šume d.o.o. pitaju se pojedini prosvjednici? Zadaća Hrvatskih šuma d.o.o. kao trgovačkog društva u državnom vlasništvu, kojima je Država povjerila gospodarenje, je obavljati poslove sukladno Osnovama gospodarenja, što znači ne stihijski nego po Zakonu o šumama, sukladno šumarskoj politici i strategiji. Osnove gospodarenja za svaku gospodarsku jedinicu propisuju desetgodišnje aktivnosti, provjerava ih stručno povjerenstvo, a Rješenjem ih odobrava resorni ministar. U njih je ugrađeno i niz propisa i popisa koje propisuje Ministarstvo zaštite okoliša. Znači ništa se ne radi amaterski – sve počiva na znanstvenim i stručnim saznanjima u šumarskoj praksi stečenoj kroz preko 250 godina organiziranog šumarstva. Klimatske promjene, ledolomi, vjetrolomi i štetnici, čemu su posebice u zadnje vrijeme izložene šume, samo još otežavaju rad u šumarstvu i zahtijevaju još veću stručnost i znanje, a nikako amaterizam. Nije bez razloga još u pretprošlom stoljeću zaključeno da za gospodarenje šumom nije dovoljna viša, nego je potrebna visoka stručna sprema, što je kod nas ostvareno 1898. godine početkom rada Šumarske akademije (današnjeg Šumarskog fakulteta), kao četvrte visokoškolske ustanove Sveučilišta u Zagrebu.No, s prekomjernom sječom treba se boriti na dijelu privatnih šumskih parcela, ali s tom stihijom se odnosne udruge ne hvataju u koštac. U istoj rečenici pitamo se bezobrazno: tko su to "oni" koji ne smiju posjeći? Da li su to možda oni koji su pet godina studirali šumarstvo, skupljajući znanja iz botanike, više matematike, kemije, meteorologije, anatomije i fiziologije bilja, pedologije, dendrologije, dendrometrije, uzgajanja šuma, ekologije, uređivanja šuma, zaštite šuma i dr., prisegavši na promociji dipl. ing. šumarstva da će raditi po stručnim šumarskim načelima. Lekcije im pak dijele oni koji su u slobodno vrijeme malo "proguglali" i na vikend izletima uz dobru zabavu, "učvrstili" svoje znanje o šumarstvu. Njihovi stručni sufleri, a kažu da ih imaju, mogli bi konačno javno polemizirati. Očekivali bi od odnosnih udruga da nas podupru u protivljenju smanjenja naknada za općekorisne funkcije šuma (OKFŠ), iz kojih se financiraju izgradnja protupožarnih prometnica, gašenja požara, pošumljavanje opožarenih površina i razminiranje površina, no one očito pristaju da se to "gura" u parafiskalne namete. Hrvatska Vlada od Hrvatskih šuma d.o.o. očekuje uplatu u državni proračun, dok čitamo, Njemačka Vlada ulaže 500 mil. EURA za sanaciju šuma, jer ih se prošle godine osušilo preko 110.000 ha.Nemamo ništa protiv toga da se ozelenjuju neke gradske površine, ali i to mora biti planski, kako izborom površina, tako i vrstom drveća, poznavajući i poštujući njihove ekološke i biološke zahtjeve. Saditi bilo što i bilo gdje, što iščitavamo iz upućenog poziva, je neodgovorno i prema prostoru, ali i prema biljci.Uredništvo ; EDITORIALThe headline of the editorial was prompted by a civil initiative sweeping through Croatia in recent times. The Facebook group, which calls for "three enjoyable days of planting trees across the State" under the motto "Plant a tree, don't be a stump", is imbued with enthusiasm and a wish to raise the awareness of Croatian citizens of the need to preserve and protect the nature; however, there are also more radical views on the forestry profession and the company Croatian Forests Ltd. Among others, they ask why there are no public afforestation activities and conclude that the reason lies in the fact that cutting trees has priority over planting them. There is an undergoing statement: "They cannot fell more than we can plant!" The campaign was prompted by large-scale planting campaigns in some countries such as India and Ethiopia. Another incentive to the campaign was provided by the devastating fires taking place in the lungs of the world, the Amazonian rain forest. The will and wish to plant trees deserves full credit, but we cannot be compared with the countries with different climatic and habitat conditions, in which felling or forest fires result in deforestation, loss of forest soil and inability of forests to regenerate. The situation in the Republic of Croatia is diametrically opposite: reforestation is an ongoing process; in other words, the forest spreads into abandoned agricultural and other areas, so that currently almost half of the country is covered with forests of different age categories. This campaign reflects the concern of the ordinary person, but also contains certain ill founded hysterical reactions targeted at foresters in Croatia.In view of the ever more frequent and unfounded attacks on the forestry profession, which has gone out of hand, it is time for the profession to voice its opinion. We can do it in two ways: we can either put forward professional and well founded arguments, or retaliate in the same impertinent manner in which we are being attacked. To start with, for those who are ready to listen, let us stress that felling is a silvicultural operation. A forest or a tree has its beginning, followed by growth through different silvicultural stages until it reaches its optimum and finally the stage of "dying". The task of the forestry profession is to deal with this last stage by cutting down old trees, making profit for the society by processing these cut trees, and ensuring natural regeneration in even-aged stands in the years of good seed mast. Before any negative attitude on a felling operation is taken, it would be advisable to inspect closely the area which was until "yesterday" covered by an old oak forest and check what is being planted in this area, if anything. In a selection forest of, e.g. beech and fir, felling is applied to remove old mature trees and those trees which prevent young trees from reaching the necessary light for growth. Reforestation with seeds or with so-called "trained" seedlings is applied only in those areas in which natural seedling has not been completely successful or in areas badly affected by fires. Maintaining the forest in a perpetually stable condition is the principle of sustainable management. This principle is something that Croatian science and practice is rightly proud of and for which it receives acknowledgement from the global forestry world.What does the company Croatian Forests Ltd do, some protesters ask? The task of the company, as a state-owned company which has been entrusted by the State with caring for the forests, is to manage forests and carry out all the jobs set down in management plans, in line with the Forest Act, the forestry policy and strategy. There is no question here of chaotic and disorganized management. Management plans for every management unit prescribe the execution of ten-year activities. These plans are verified by expert committees and approved by the corresponding minister. They also contain regulations and rules set down by the Ministry of Environmental Protection. As seen from the above, nothing is done on an amateur basis - everything is firmly grounded on scientific and expert knowledge of the forestry practice, which has been acquired through 250 and more years of organized forestry. Climate change, damage caused by ice and wind, as well as pests, to which forests have been particularly exposed in recent times, make work in forestry even more difficult and require even more expertise and knowledge - certainly not amateurism. This is the reason that as far back as the 18th century it was realized that management of forests required not just a college degree but academic education. In Croatia, this was put to practice in1898, when the Forestry Academy (the present day Faculty of Forestry) was opened as the fourth institution of higher education within the University of Zagreb.A battle against excessive felling should be fought in parts of privately owned forest areas, yet the above groups fail to grapple with this problem. Allow us to be impertinent enough to ask: who are "they" who are not allowed to perform felling operations? Perhaps those who have studied forestry for five years, acquired knowledge of botany, higher mathematics, chemistry, meteorology, plant anatomy and physiology, pedology, dendrology, dendrometrics, silviculture, ecology, forest planning, forest protection and other fields, and who have, when receiving their degrees of graduate engineers of forestry, pledged to adhere to expert forestry principles in their work? Such professionals are then lectured by those who have "googled" something about forestry and who have gained their knowledge of forestry at weekend outings in forests. We would welcome with open arms their expert advisors, which they claim there are many, to finally come out and engage in public debates. We would expect from these groups to support us in opposing the move to cut down on non-market forest function fees, which are used to finance the construction of fire breaks, fire suppression, reforestation of burnt areas and demining areas. Obviously, they prefer these fees to be "pushed" into parafiscal levies. While the Croatian government expects from the company Croatian Forests Ltd to pay into the state budget, the German government invests 500 million euro into the recovery of forests, since over 110,000 ha of forests dried only last year.We have nothing against making city areas green, but this should be carried out in a planned manner, both as regards the choice of areas and the choice of tree species, taking into account their ecological and biological requirements. Planting anything and anywhere, as seen from the initiative, is irresponsible both for the area and for the plant.Editorial Board

RIJEČ UREDNIŠTVAUZ 20-tu OBLJETNICU DANA HRVATSKOGA ŠUMARSTVANa 101. Godišnjoj skupštini Hrvatskoga šumarskoga društva, održanoj 9. svibnja 1997. god. (188 sudionika) u Zaključcima pod red. br. 15 Skupština "proglašava 20. lipnja za Dan hrvatskoga šumarstva, koji će se od 1998. godine u organizaciji HŠD-a obilježavati svake godine". Naime, toga je datuma na 96. Redovitoj skupštini 20. lipnja 1991.g. jednoglasnom odlukom promijenjen naziv udruge iz Saveza društava inženjera i tehničara šumarstva i drvne industrije Hrvatske u Hrvatsko šumarsko društvo. Tako je od 1998.g. Dan hrvatskoga šumarstva redovito obilježavan. Uz redovita izvješća o radu i financijskom poslovanju udruge, u nastavku je uvijek slijedila aktualna stručna tema. Stručna tema ove Skupštine bila je "Hrvatsko šumarstvo danas i sutra". Uvod u raspravu dali su tadašnji predsjednik HŠD-a prof. dr. sc. Slavko Matić i direktor "Hrvatskih šuma" p.o. Zagreb Anđelko Serdarušić, dipl. ing. šum. Kao temu za razmišljanje, navest ćemo samo dio iz tih uvoda i rasprave objedinjenih u 15 zaključaka.Prof. Matić ponajprije naglašava kako je HŠD najmjerodavnija stručna organizacija koja mora raspravljati o stanju u hrvatskome šumarstvu, posebno onda kada su svakim danom problemi sve brojniji i uočljiviji. No, nitko ne očekuje njihovo rješenje preko noći. Najvažniji problemi su: zapošljavanje diplomiranih inženjera i općenito smanjenje broja zaposlenih u šumarstvu; nepotrebno izdvajanje velikih površina šuma u nacionalne parkove i parkove prirode i davanje na upravljanje raznoraznim upravnim odborima gdje gotovo i nema šumara; podređeni odnos prema struci gdje Hrvatske ceste, vodoprivreda i elektroprivreda, protivno Zakonu o šumama, ulaze u šume bez naknade; drvni sortimenti se raspoređuju po komisijama, uz niske cijene a svi se zaklinjemo u slobodno tržište; u šumu nam ulaze needucirani i slabo opremljeni poduzetnici s nekvalificiranom radnom snagom; poseban trud treba ulagati u afirmaciju struke utemeljene ponajprije na profesionalnoj etici; trebamo se riješiti onih "zalutalih" u šumarsku struku, kojima je cilj samo laka zarada.Direktor Serdarušić nakon uvoda daje desetak prijedloga za zaključke; uputiti zahtjev Hrvatskoj radioteleviziji za termin redovitog priloga o hrvatskom šumarstvu; da predstavnici HŠD-a, Šumarskog fakulteta, Šumarskog instituta i Hrvatskih šuma p.o. izrade suvremeni Zakon o šumama i Dugoročni program šumarstva i upute ga Ministarstvu uz zahtjev za ukidanje tzv. "liste finalista", reprogramiranja dugova, dodjela dionica, odgoda plaćanja itd.; usklađivanje odnosa šumarstva i drugih djelatnosti; da se osigura više financijskih sredstava za gospodarenje privatnim šumama i sanaciju ratnih šteta, te da na prostornom uređenju i djelatnostima zaštite prirode, neizostavno sudjeluju i šumarski stručnjaci.Tomislav Starčević naglašava kako je vrijeme da se analizira da li smo i koliko, dosljedno provodili temeljne koncepcijske pretpostavke za razvoj hrvatskoga šumarstva, gdje u provedbi tih opredjeljenja još nema jasne šumarske politike; Šumariji kao temeljnoj organizacijskoj jedinici ne daje se dovoljno važnosti i ovlaštenja, iz čega proizlazi gubitak motiva; kod uzgojnih radova vidljivo opada kvaliteta; doradom planova gospodarenja povećava se sortimentna struktura planova sječa, pa nemamo definirane planske veličine; naposljetku ovu Skupštinu smatra poticajnom za temeljiti razvoj šumarstva.Prof. Joso Vukelić smatra da Vlada RH nema koncepciju razvoja šumarstva i javnog poduzeća, ne uvažava stručna mišljenja, postavlja nekompetentan Upravni odbor; resorno Ministarstvo je neadekvatno organizirano i šumarstvo i lovstvo bi trebalo izdvojiti u posebnu Državnu upravu, kao što su to vode. Posebno ističe nezadovoljstvo društveno-moralnim položajem šumarske struke.Prvi resorni ministar Ivan Tarnaj ističe kako nijedna organizacija nije konačna, pa tako ni šumarska; ova dosadašnja, obrazlažući je detaljno, smatra da je bila dobra, jer trebalo je u teškim uvjetima preživjeti, no nakon 7 godina možda je vrijeme za novu.Prof. Branimir Prpić iskazuje nezadovoljstvo podređenošću šumarstva u Strategiji prostornog uređenja RH i smanjenjem opsega šumarskih djelatnosti, posebice u prostornom planiranju i zaštiti prirode i okoliša, gdje šumarske poslove preuzimaju nestručni kadrovi.Prošlo je 20 godina pa imajući pred sobom ovaj skraćeni prikaz navedene stručne teme (detaljno u Šumarskom listu br. 5-6/1997., str. 323-332), pokušajmo odgovoriti barem na dva pitanja: što se to do danas promijenilo i da li je "svatko od nas korigiranjem svoga rada dao najbolji doprinos poboljšanju stanja u šumarstvu", što je tada sugerirao prof. Matić u uvodnom izlaganju? Uredništvo ; EDITORIALOn the 20th Anniversary of the Day of Croatian ForestryAt the 101st Annual Assembly of the Croatian Forestry Association held on 9th May 1997, (188 participants), June 20th was proclaimed the Day of Croatian Forestry, which will be celebrated annually by the Croatian Forestry Association starting from 1998 (Conclusions, item 15). At the 96th regular meeting held on 20th June 1991, the name of the association was unanimously changed from the Association of Engineers and Technicians of Forestry and Wood Industry of Croatia into the Croatian Forestry Association. The Day of Croatian Forestry has been marked interminably since 1998. Regular reports on the activities and financial affairs of the Association have always been accompanied by discussions on current specialist topics. The specialist topic of the said Assembly was "the Croatian forestry today and tomorrow". An introduction to the discussion was given by Professor Slavko Matić, PhD, the then president of the Croatian Forestry Association, and Anđelko Serdarušić, BSc in forestry, director of the company "Croatian Forests". To provide food for thought, we shall mention only some parts of these introductions and discussions summarized in 15 conclusions.First and foremost, Professor Matić stresses that the CFA is the most competent professional organisation to discuss the condition of Croatian forestry, particularly in view of a growing number of acute problems. However, nobody expects overnight solutions. The most important problems include the employment of graduate engineers and the declining number of those employed in forestry in general; unnecessary conversions of large forest areas into national parks and nature parks and their management by managing boards consisting of anybody but foresters; a subordinate attitude towards the profession, reflected in the fact that the Croatian Roads, Water Management and Electrical Utility Company, contrary to the Forest Law, enter forests without any monetary compensation; wood assortments are distributed per commissions at low prices despite the fact that we all staunchly support the free market economy; forests are treated by uneducated and poorly equipped entrepreneurs with unqualified labour force; particular effort should be invested in the promotion of the profession that is based primarily on professional ethics; those who have "wandered" into the forestry profession by accident with the only goal of making easy money should be removed from forestry.Director Serdarušić followed his introduction with some ten proposals for the conclusions. These include the following: a request should be submitted to the Croatian Radio Television to allocate a fixed term for programmes on Croatian forestry; representatives of the CFA, the Faculty of Forestry, the Forest Research Institute and Croatian Forests Ltd should draw up a modern Forest Law and a Long-Term Forestry Programme and submit it to the Ministry. The Programme should be accompanied by a demand to abolish so-called "finalist lists", re-programme debts, allocate shares, postpone payments, etc; the relationship between forestry and other fields should be coordinated; more financial means should be ensured for the management of private forests and the recovery of war damage; and forestry experts should invariably be included into spatial management and nature conservation activities.Tomislav Starčević stresses the need to analyse whether the basic conceptual prerequisites for the development of Croatian forestry have been implemented and to what extent, considering that the application of these prerequisites is not guided by a clear forestry policy; the forest office, as the basic organisational unit, is not given sufficient importance and competences, hence the loss of motives; the quality of silvicultural treatments is visibly declining; by adding to management plans the assortment structure of cutting plans is increased, resulting in changes in the planned amounts; and finally, he considers this Assembly an incentive for the overall development of forestry.Professor Joso Vukelić points out that the Croatian Government does not have a clear concept of the development of forestry and public enterprises, does not accept professional opinions, and appoints incompetent management boards; the Ministry is inadequately organized; while forestry and hunting management should be placed under a separate State administration, similar to water management. He particularly expresses dissatisfaction with the socio-moral position of the forestry profession.The first forestry minister Ivan Tarnaj states that no organisation is final, and consequently the forestry organisation is not final either; he maintains that the current organisation is good in view of the fact that it was difficult to survive in hard conditions, but after seven years it is perhaps time to launch a new organisation.Professor Branimir Prpić expressed dissatisfaction with the subordinate position of forestry in the Croatian Strategy of Spatial Planning and with a reduced volume of forest activities, particularly in spatial planning and nature conservation and environment protection, where forestry activities are performed by inexpert personnel.Twenty years have passed: looking at this brief review of the topic (find a more detailed analysis in Forestry Journal No. 5-6/1997, pp 323-332), let us try and answer at least two questions: what has changed since and have we all "by improving our work, given the best contribution to the condition in forestry", as Professor Matić suggested in his introductory discussion. Jezik je bitna odrednica identiteta nekoga naroda. U jeziku, ponajprije u njegovu leksičkome sloju, zrcale se društveno-povijesne promjene jednoga naroda.To znači da se jezik razvija prateći povijesna i društvena zbivanja određenoga vremena. Drugu je polovicu 20. stoljeća u južnoslavenskoj filologiji obilježio proces serbokroatizma, tj. težnja za stvaranjem jednoga srpskohrvatskoga jezika. Politički je leksik počeo snažno prodirati u područje javne uporabe jezika, što se odrazilo i na njegovu pojavnost u udžbeničkim tekstovima, postajući njegov sastavni, nezaobilazni dio. Predmet je ovoga rada analiza ideološki uvjetovanog leksika u čitankama za mlađu školsku dob, koje su bile u uporabi u 80-im godinama 20. stoljeća. U radu su se kvantitativno i kvalitativno analizirali udžbenici/čitanke kako bi se dobili odgovori na pitanja: promiču li tekstovi u analiziranim čitankama vrijednosti političkoga sustava SFRJ, jesu li u njima zastupljeni leksemi političkoga diskursa, tzv. ideologemi te koje su mogućnosti ilustrativnoga prijenosa ideološkoga literarnog sadržaja u likovni izraz. Udžbenik/čitanka kao važan izvor znanja može pridonijeti promidžbi držvanopolitičkih vrijednosti vladajućega režima, u ovome slučaju promidžbi jugoslavenske komunističke vlasti. ; Language is an essential part of a nation's identity. Language, especially its lexis, reflects social and historical changes that a nation goes through. It means that lexis development takes place simultaneously with social changes that occur over time. The second half of the twentieth century in Yugoslav philology is characterised by Serbo-Croatism, i.e. the intention to merge two languages into one. The political parlance became a part of widely used public language and permeated school textbooks as well. The paper analyses ideologically determined lexis in the textbooks for young learners that were used in schools in the nineteen-eighties. Ovaj rad analizira povijesne artefakte korištene u rekonstrukciji mode Zagreba s kraja 19. i početka 20. stoljeća. Raznolikost izvora iziskuje postavljanje temeljnih pravila, tj. metoda analize i komparacije, neophodnih za bolje razumijevanje razloga postojanja određenih odjevnih oblika i modnih smjernica. Na primjerima izvora korištenih u rekonstrukciji zagrebačke mode s kraja 19. i početka 20. stoljeća, ukazat će se na zamke krivih i površnih interpretacija. U tom se smislu analiziraju odjevni artefakti, povijesna fotografija, modni tisak, slikarska djela, šaljive likovne anegdote, pisma, te nacrti. Istaknuta je i neophodnost interdisciplinarnog pristupa u istraživanju povijesti odijevanja, kako bi se moda promatrala kao odraz političkih, društvenih, gospodarskih promjena i rezultat kulturnog ozračja. ; The theme of this paper is the artefacts used for reconstruction of late 19th and early 20th century fashion in Zagreb. It will point out new views, methods of analysis and inevitable comparison to reach the goal of supplementing existing knowledge. Although the sources for understanding fashion history do give many information, they are limited in presenting the greater picture. This paper will try to emphasize the source method analysis and the problems that have to be avoided. In that respect clothing artefacts, historical photographs, fashion magazines, paintings, witty art anecdotes, letters and designs will be analyzed. The necessity of interdisciplinary approach of research will be pointed out to ensure the understanding of fashion as a result of historical, social and art influences.
U radu se s povijesno-geografskog aspekta razmatra nastanak, razvoj i slabljenje senjskog parobrodarstva, ključnog elementa ukupnoga socijalnog i gospodarskog napretka Senja na prijelazu iz 19. u 20. stoljeće. Početkom 19. stoljeća senjska luka je bila, zahvaljujući posebnoj gradskoj autonomiji i suvremenoj cestovnoj povezanosti, jedno od najvažnijih pomorskih trgovačkih središta Hrvatskog primorja i Jadrana u cjelini, čiji su stanovnici važni sudionici u brojnim društvenim, gospodarskim i političkim previranjima. Zasigurno je i razvoj parobrodarstva omogućio Senjanima dobar položaj na sve zahtjevnijem ekonomskom tržištu. U radu se analiziraju i važni uzroci slabljenja senjskog gospodarstva koji su u vrijeme Kraljevine Jugoslavije Senj izolirali od do tada prevladavajućih pomorskih i gospodarskih silnica te bitno utjecali na opći socioekonomski život grada. ; The authors of the paper examine the historical and geographical aspects of the emergence, development and decline of Senj's steam-shipping as the crucial element of the overall social and economic progress of Senj at the turn of the 20th century. At the beginning of the 19th century, owing to the special city autonomy and the modern road connections, the Port of Senj was one of the most important maritime trading centres of the Croatian Littoral and the entire Adriatic in general, and its residents were important participants in social, economic and political turmoil of that time. Steam-shipping development has surely provided the residents of Senj a good market position in the times of demanding economic circumstances. The work also analyses important causes of weakening of Senj's economy, which during the period of the Kingdom of Yugoslavia isolated the city from the dominant maritime and economic processes, thus heavily influencing the city's socioeconomic situation.
Rad obuhvaća istraživanje slovačkog položaja u okviru Austro-Ugarske Monarhije na prijelazu iz 19. u 20. stoljeće. Kratko je opisano dualističko uređenje i središnje karakteristike Austro-Ugarske Monarhije na prijelazu iz 19. u 20. stoljeće. Detaljnije je objašnjen slovački položaj unutar Austro-Ugarske Monarhije uzimajući u obzir mađarizaciju, slovačku političku agendu, utjecaj vanjske i unutarnje politike i čehoslovačku suradnju. Na kraju rada izložen je zaključak o obilježjima slovačkog položaja u Austro-Ugarskoj Monarhiji. ; The work covers an exploration of the Slovak position within the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy at the turn of the 19thand 20thcenturies. The dualistic arrangement and central features of the Austro- Hungarian Monarchy at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries are briefly described. The Slovak position within the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy is explained in more detail, taking into account Hungarianization, the Slovak political agenda, the influence of foreign as well as internal politics and Czechoslovak cooperation. At the end of the paper, a conclusion on the characteristics of the Slovak position in the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy is presented.
Modernizacijski procesi na svim razinama koji su se odražavali na svakodnevni život i bili glavnim uzrocima reforme života, društvenih, kulturnih i pedagoških pokreta europskog fin de sièclea reflektirali su se i na Hrvatsku, osobito na njezina urbana područja. Europska je reformna pedagogija sa svojim glavnim predstavnicima i koncepcijama, barem na informativnoj razini, dopirala do hrvatskih učitelja. Začetnici reformne pedagogije u Hrvatskoj su zagrebački učitelji Vjekoslav Koščević i Ivan Tomašić. Njihova reformska nastojanja manifestirala su se u istupima protiv herbartovske pedagogije, u prikupljanju iskustava i spoznaja o reformnim pedagoškim pokretima u srednjoeuropskim zemljama i njihovoj implementaciji u vlastitu pedagošku praksu te u pokušajima organiziranog promicanja ideja reformne pedagogije kroz Hrvatsko društvo za unapređenje uzgoja i časopis Preporod. Brojni su učitelji i učiteljice osluškivali puls početka "stoljeća djeteta" i diskretno prilagođavali svoju pedagošku praksu novom duhu. Nakon Prvoga svjetskog rata – u novoj državnoj zajednici Kraljevini Srba, Hrvata i Slovenaca (od 1929. Kraljevini Jugoslaviji) – hrvatski su se učitelji angažirali na području praktične školske reforme odnosno didaktičko-metodičke obnove, koja je značila nastavak procesa započetog prije Prvoga svjetskog rata. Radna škola kao glavni cilj didaktičko-metodičke obnove postala je tridesetih godina 20. stoljeća i službeno pedagoško usmjerenje, pod snažnim uplivom prosvjetne politike i ideologije ondašnje jugoslavenske države. Funkciju učiteljskih ferijalnih tečajeva radne škole, kao modela stručnog usavršavanja učitelja za novu školu, od sredine tridesetih preuzimaju državne ogledne škole. Glavni predstavnici pokreta radne škole u Hrvatskoj bili su: Ante Defrančeski, Josip Demarin, Mate Demarin, Salih Ljubunčić, Marijan Markovac, Zlatko Špoljar, Stjepan Zaninović i drugi. Tijekom dva međuratna desetljeća u Hrvatskoj se profiliraju akademski obrazovani pedagozi, teoretičari koji su se bavili ključnim pitanjima pedagogije kao (duhovno)znanstvene ili filozofijske discipline i istodobno održavali vezu s aktualnom pedagoškom zbiljom i kritički upozoravali na neke negativne pojave u praksi nove škole: Stjepan Matičević, Pavao Vuk-Pavlović, Stjepan Pataki, Vladimir Petz i drugi. Refleksije reformne pedagogije zamjetne su i u ostalim sferama odgojno-obrazovnog rada kao što su: obrazovanje odraslih, zdravstveno prosvjećivanje, socijalna skrb i zaštita djece, organizacije djece i mladih, suradnja roditeljskog doma i škole te različiti oblici kulturnog i umjetničkog rada s djecom i za djecu. Alternativni pedagoški koncepti odškrinuli su 1990-ih vrata pedagoškom i školskom pluralizmu u Hrvatskoj, no on je i nakon dva desetljeća u početnoj fazi razvoja. ; The processes of modernisation evident at all levels, which reflected on everyday life and were the key factors of lifestyle changes and of social, cultural and pedagogical movements at the fin de siècle in Europe, reflected also upon Croatia, particularly its urban areas. European reformist pedagogy, with its key representatives and concepts, reached Croatian teachers as well, at least in the form of general awareness. The reformist pedagogy in Croatia was established by two teachers from Zagreb, Vjekoslav Koščević and Ivan Tomašić. Their reformist attempts were evident in their stands against Herbart's pedagogy, in gathering experience of and insights in the reformist pedagogy movements in Central European countries and the implementation of those insights in their own pedagogical practice, as well as in their attempts of organised promotion of reformist ideas through the Croatian Society for the Improvement of Edification and the Preporod journal. Numerous teachers were waiting to see how the "century of the child" was going to develop, adjusting discretely their pedagogical practice to the new spirit. After the First World War, in the new Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes (Kingdom of Yugoslavia after 1929), Croatian teachers were active in the area of practical school reform, or didactical-methodical renewal, which meant a continuation of the pre-World War I process. The working school, as the main goal of the didactical-methodical renewal, became an official pedagogical trend in the 1930s, under the strong influence of educational policy and ideology of Yugoslavia of the time. From the mid-1930s, the state model schools took over the task of working school training courses for teachers as a model of professional development of teachers for the new school. The main representatives of the working school movement in Croatia included Ante Defrančeski, Josip Demarin, Mate Demarin, Salih Ljubunčić, Marijan Markovac, Zlatko Špoljar and Stjepan Zaninović, among others. Academically educated pedagogues and theoretical scholars, who addressed the key issues of pedagogy as a spiritual-scientific or philosophical discipline, appeared in Croatia during the two decades between the two wars: Stjepan Matičević, Pavao Vuk-Pavlović, Stjepan Pataki, Vladimir Petz and others. At the same time, they were also staying in touch with the then current pedagogic reality and critiquing certain negative phenomena in the practice of the new school. The reformist pedagogy was also reflected in other areas of educational work, such as adult education, mass health education, social care and child care, children's and youth organisations, collaboration between parents and schools and various forms of cultural and artistic activities with and for children. The alternative concepts of pedagogy opened the door towards pedagogy and school pluralism in Croatia in the 1990s, but two decades later, it is still in its initial phase of development.
Svrha ovoga rada bila je, da se utvrđivanjem razlika u djelovanju Čiste stranke prava (Starčevićeve hrvatske stranke prava/Stranke prava) u varaždinskom i ludbreškom kotaru početkom 20. stoljeća, doprinese razumijevanju razlika, koje danas postoje između dviju hrvatskih regija, Varaždinštine i Podravine. Spomenute razlike autor je analizirao prvenstveno na temelju izbornih rezultata, kao i na temelju društvene strukture pristaša ove stranke, koju je pokušao rekonstruirati putem povezanosti istaknutih članova stranke, s pojedinim gospodarskim institucijama u ovim kotarima. U svom radu autor je primijetio, da je ova stranka prije prodrla u ludbreški nego u varaždinski kotar, da je u varaždinski kotar prodrla iz ludbreškog kotara, te da je u ludbreškom kotaru čvršće uporište stvorila samo u Ludbregu, dok je u varaždinskom kotaru čvrsta uporišta stvorila u njegovim seoskim općinama. Posljednja činjenica omogućila je prodor Hrvatske pučke seljačke stranke u ludbreški kotar, te uzrokovala njezino zaustavljanje na granicama varaždinskog kotara. Polazeći od donedavne pripadnosti prostora varaždinskog kotara Podravini, te od postojeće definicije Podravine kao ishodišnog područja Hrvatske pučke seljačke stranke, autor je zaključio da je Čista stranka prava (Starčevićeva hrvatska stranka prava/Stranka prava), zaustavljajući prelijevanje utjecaja Hrvatske pučke seljačke stranke iz ludbreškog u varaždinski kotar, znatno doprinijela izdvajanju varaždinskog kotara u posebnu regiju, Varaždinštinu. ; This article aims to understand the differences between the two Croatian regions, Podravina and Varaždinština, based on differences in political activity of the Pure Party of Rights (Starčević's Party of Rights/Party of Rights) at the beginning of the 20th century in the Varaždin and Ludbreg county. The author analyzed these differences based on the election results and the social structure of party members in both county. He noted that this party had previously penetrated into the Ludbreg rather than Varaždin county, that it penetrated into the Varaždin county from the Ludbreg county, and that in the Ludbreg county it created a stronger stronghold only in Ludbreg, while in the Varaždin county it created stronger stronghold in the countryside. This enabled the penetration of the Croatian People's Peasant Party into the Ludbreg county, and caused it to stop at the borders of the Varaždin county. The author started from the former affiliation of the Varaždin county to Podravina, and from the existing definition of Podravina as the startin area of the Croatian People's Peasant Party. Based on this he concluded that the Pure Party of Rights, stopping the overflow influence of the Croatian People's Peasant Party from Ludbreg to Varaždin county, significantly contributed to the separation of Varaždin county into a special region, Varaždinština.
Zadatak razvijanja znanja o afričkim ruralnim područjima od strane urbanih afričkih istraživača susreće se s dva značajna izazova: nadmoć mitova i 'biće kao sila' u mreži ruralne afričke gnoze i prijezirno držanje urbanih afričkih istraživača spram domorodačkih sustava znanja (IKS). Ovaj je pristup rezultat kolonijalnih nastojanja da se sačuva epistemička hegemonija i neokolonijalizacija uz pomoć Afrikanaca koje se okrenulo protiv mogućnosti afričkog sustava znanja. Fiksacija na mit i silu ruralnih aktera i zapadnjačkog akademski orijentiranog sistema znanja sačinjava obostrano antagonističke strukture moći s kumulativnim efektom zagušivanja pokušaja da se Afriku razumije iznutra prema van. Ovaj rad, usmjeravajući se na društveno znanje Yoruba, primjenjuje rekonstruktivni pristup predlažući dva puta do razvoja robusne afričke baze znanja. Prvi put argumentira da se ruralni akteri koji doprinose razvoju afričke spoznaje moraju raščarati gdje je to potrebno. Drugi je put usmjeren na urgentnost postizanja potpune dekolonizacije. Dok prvi put vidi kretanje ruralnog od mitova prema artikulaciji liberalnog epistemičkog sistema, drugi put želi ukloniti nevjericu i prijezir koji urbani istraživači imaju o zbilji znanja u Africi. Znanje koje ima koristi od afričke originalnosti može se konsolidirati otvorenim dijalogom između urbanih istraživača i ruralnih aktera koji imaju izravnu vezu s ispostavom afričke gnoze u pogledu politike, prava, etike, farmakognoze, zdravstva, ekonomije i okoliša. ; The task of advancing knowledge on Africa from rural African spaces by urban African researchers confronts two formidable challenges; namely, the preponderance of myths and 'being as a force' in the network of rural African gnosis and the contemptuous poise of the urban African researcher against indigenous knowledge systems (IKS). This attitude is the aftermath of colonial efforts at reserving epistemic hegemony and neo¬colonisation by Africans who have been inundated against the possibility of an African knowledge system. The fixation on myths and force by rural agents and western academy-¬derived knowledge system constitute mutually antagonistic power structures with the cumulative effect of stifling efforts at understanding Africa from inside out. This paper focusing on the Yoruba knowledge society employs a reconstructive approach in proposing two paths to the development of a robust African knowledge base by African researchers. The first path argues that rural agents contributing to developing African episteme must disenchant where necessary. The second is directed at the urgency of achieving a consummated decolonisation. While the former path sees the rural moving from a system of myths to the articulation of liberal epistemic system, the latter seeks to nullify the incredulity and contempt urban researchers have about the reality of knowledge in Africa. Knowledge that has the benefit of African originality can thus be consolidated on an open dialogue between urban researchers and rural agents who have direct relations to the deposit of African gnosis pertaining to politics, law, ethics, pharmacognosy, health care, economy and the environment. ; La mission des chercheurs africains issus des milieux urbains pour développer le savoir dans les zones de l'Afrique rurale se confronte à deux défis significatifs : la prédominance des mythes et « l'être comme force » au sein du réseau africain de la gnose, et l'attitude méprisante des chercheurs issus des milieux urbains envers les systèmes de connaissances indigènes (IKS). Cette approche est le résultat d'efforts coloniaux pour sauvegarder l'hégémonie épistémique et le néocolonialisme par le biais d'un assujettissement des Africains qui va à l'encontre d'un éventuel système de connaissances africain. L'idée fixe qui porte sur les mythes et sur la force des acteurs issus du milieu rural, mais également sur celle du système de connaissances acadé¬mique constitue, des deux côtés, des structures de pouvoir qui ont pour effet d'étouffer les tentatives accumulées pour comprendre l'Afrique de l'intérieur. Ce travail, en s'orientant vers le savoir de la communauté Yoruba, applique une approche de reconstruction en proposant deux voies qui mènent à un développement solide de la base du savoir africain. La première voie discute le fait que les acteurs ruraux qui contribuent au développement du savoir africain doivent éclaircir la situation là où il est nécessaire de le faire. La seconde voie se penche sur l'urgence pour parvenir à une complète décolonisation. Alors que la première voie conçoit l'évolution du rural à partir des mythes et se dirige vers la formation d'un système épistémique libéral, la se-conde voie souhaite se débarrasser de l'incrédulité et du mépris des chercheurs urbains envers la réalité du savoir en Afrique. Le savoir qui tire ses avantages de l'originalité africaine peut se consolider par le biais d'un dialogue ouvert entre les chercheurs urbains et les acteurs ruraux qui ont un lien direct avec la gnose africaine établie eu égard à la politique, au droit, à l'éthique, à la pharmacognosie, à la santé, à l'économie et à l'environnement. ; Die Aufgabe der Fortentwicklung des Wissens über afrikanische ländliche Gebiete seitens der urbanen Forscher Afrikas stößt auf zwei bedeutende Herausforderungen: die Überlegenheit der Mythen und "das Wesen als Macht" im Netz ruraler afrikanischer Gnosis sowie die verächtliche Haltung urbaner afrikanischer Forscher gegenüber den indigenen Wissenssystemen (IKS). Ein solches Herangehen ist das Ergebnis kolonialer Bemühungen, die epistemische Hegemonie und Neokolonialisierung beizubehalten, und zwar mithilfe von Afrikanern, über die man gegen die Interessen des afrikanischen Wissenssystems die Oberhand behielt. Die Fixierung auf den Mythos und die Macht der ländlichen Akteure sowie des westlichen, akademisch orientierten Wissenssystems vereint beiderseitig antagonistische Machtstrukturen mit dem kumulativen Effekt, Versuche zu ersticken, Afrika von innen heraus zu verstehen. Diese Arbeit, indem sie sich auf das Wissen der Yoruba¬-Gesellschaft konzentriert, setzt den rekonstruktiven Ansatz ein und schlägt zwei Wege zur Entwicklung einer robusten afrikanischen Wissensbasis vor. Der erste Weg argumentiert, dass die ruralen Akteure, die der Entwicklung der afrikanischen Erkenntnis ihren Beitrag leisten, erforderlichenfalls entzaubert werden müssen. Der zweite Weg ist auf die Dringlichkeit der Umsetzung einer vollständigen Dekolonisation ausgerichtet. Während der erste Weg die Fortbewegung des Ländlichen von den Mythen zur Artikulation des liberalen epistemischen Systems erkennt, verfolgt der zweite Weg das Ziel, den Unglauben und die Geringschätzung zu beseitigen, die urbane Forscher gegenüber der Wissensrealität in Afrika pflegen. Das Wissen, dem die afrikanische Originalität zugutekommt, lässt sich durch einen offenen Dialog zwischen urbanen Forschern und ruralen Akteuren konsolidieren, die eine direkte Verbindung zur Außenstelle der afrikanischen Gnosis in Bezug auf Politik, Recht, Ethik, Pharmakognosie, Gesundheitswesen, Wirtschaft und Umwelt haben.
Grkokatolici su u Hrvatskoj živjeli u malim skupinama, u raznim dijelovima Hrvatske. No od 1771. sjedište njihove biskupije je u Križevcima gdje imaju prekrasnu crkvu Presvete Trojice. Dakako da za uzdržavanje biskupije trebaju materijalna sredstva i biskup Julije Drohobeczky je na prijelazu iz 19. u 20. stoljeće osmislio stočarstvo kao najpogodniju gospodarsku granu za grkokatolike, te je pomagao uzgoj a onda i prodaju stoke za izvoz. Političke prilike nisu pogodovale ravnomjernom razvoju i tek 1928. Đuro Predović podiže u Gjurgjištu tvornicu za preradu mesa, a potom i proizvodnju seruma. Ova tvornica prosperitetno radi do 1943. godine kada je devastirana od partizana, no industrijski kompleks ostaje skupljalište plodina do kraja rata, kada je tvornica konfiscirana, a Đuro Predović izbjegao u Argentinu. Predović je od 1935. dio tvornice seruma preselio u Zemun. ; Despite the fact that Uniates had been living in small groups in different parts of Croatia, Križevci – home of the stunning Greek Catholic Cathedral of the Holy Trinity – became the seat of their diocese in 1773. Since considerable resources were needed to support the diocese, Bishop Julije Drohobeczky envisaged stock-farming as the agricultural branch best suited for Uniates at the turn of the 19th century and supported the breeding and selling of stock. Since political conditions at the time resulted in uneven development, Đuro Predović built a meat curing factory as late as 1929 in Gjurgjišće and later established the production of serum for the vaccination of pigs. The majority of the produced meat was exported to Germany. He also established Vetserum in Zemun, a big chemical production plant. Despite frequents clashes with the workers, the plant functioned successfully until 1943 when it was ransacked and devastated by partisans. The industrial complex was used as a crop storage unit until the end of the war, when the company was nationalized and Đuro Predović fled to Argentina. The factory being built on the main railway line Rijeka – Zagreb – Central Europe points to the fact that Uniates took up stock-farming, which was the most successful agricultural branches in terms of export.
Ponajviše na osnovi arhivske građe, ali i onodobnoga tiska, prikazuje se složenost fenomena krivotvorenja novca na području Kraljevine Jugoslavije tridesetih godina 20. stoljeća. Obuhvaćeni su uglavnom slučajevi krivotvorenja iz Savske Banovine i Banovine Hrvatske. Pokušali smo obraditi politički, društveni i geografski aspekt krivotvorenja. Osobito se osvrće na odnos vlasti prema krivotvorenju, na sociodemografske karakteristike krivotvoritelja i krivotvoriteljskih organizacija te na geografske tokove novca. Analizom smo nastojali prikazati neke karakteristike krivotvoriteljske prakse. ; The author gives a complex picture of forging money on the territory of the Kingdom of Yugoslavia in the 1930s, primarily based on archive material, but also on the contemporary press. He mostly covers cases of forging in the Sava Banovina and the Banovina of Croatia, analysing the political, social and geographical aspects. He pays special attention to how the authorities reacted to the forging, the socio-demographic characteristics of the forgers and forging organisations, and to the territorial flow of the money. His analysis is aimed at showing some characteristics of the practice of forging.
Cilj ovog diplomskog rada je dati pregled dinamike afričko-europskih migrantskih ruta u zadnjem desetljeću te na osnovi dostupnih statističkih podataka analizirati postojeće i buduće trendove na promatranim migrantskim rutama. Pritom su korištene metode deskripcije, kompilacije, komparacije, analize i sinteze, indukcije i dedukcije te kvantitativne metode u sklopu obrade statističkih podataka. Neki od iskorištenih sekundarnih izvora podataka su baze podataka Eurostata, International Organization for Migration (IOM) i The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). Unatoč uvjerenju kako su afričke migracije stihijske u naravi i izvanredne u odnosu na one u ostatku svijeta, moderan teorijski okvir nudi kvalitetniju sliku motivacija afričkog stanovništva na migraciju te identifikaciju relevantih push i pull faktora. Većina afričkih migracija, posebno onih usmjerenih prema Europi, motivirana je željom za obrazovanjem, obiteljskim i poslovnim motivima, a ne oružanim sukobima ili nestašicama hrane ili pitke vode. Naime, push faktori, bilo oni socio-političke, ekonomske ili ekološke naravi ne mogu biti glavni argument u objašnjenju afričko-europskih migracija. Konstantan pritisak na povećanje direktnih stranih investicija u zemlje afričkog kontinenta je, u najmanju ruku, nedostatni alat za usporavanje migracija te je, s obzirom na puno veći pozitivni učinak radničkih doznaka emigrantskog afričkog stanovništva, krivo identificirani indikator i alat u makroekonomskim težnjama za razvojem zemalja afričkog kontinenta. Europska javnost se ne osjeća ugodno sa sve većim brojem stranih imigranata, što stvara pritisak na kreatore politika te institucije EU da razmišljaju dugoročno i kreiraju robusni sustav koji će se moći nositi sa sadašnjim i budućim pritiscima na vanjske granice EU. ; The aim of this thesis is to give an overview of the dynamics of African-European migrant routes in the last decade, and on the basis of available statistics to analyze existing and future trends in the observed migrant ...
