This collective book is the outcome of the discussion between historians and anthropologists from different professional backgrounds and affiliations. Its nine chapters reveal the larger paradox faced by these Mexicanist anthropologists and historians who propose research with an interdisciplinary vocation: as studies looking for a common ground of anthropology and historiography are more developed, the distance between anthropologists and historians as a professional discipline becomes larger. Viazzo Introducción a la antropología histórica se trata de establecer algunos elementos para un análisis del desarrollo de los estudios de antropología histórica en los Andes. En su forma moderna, estos se establecieron dentro de la época de encuentros cercanos entre las dos disciplinas, estimada en los años cincuenta por el autor comentado.
