Dès les années 1930, à Mirecourt, capitale de la lutherie, la question n'est plus de savoir comment devenir luthier, mais comment le rester, tant les perspectives et les conditions d'exercice de cette profession ont changé durant la première moitié du xx e siècle. Cet article étudie les stratégies des luthiers – entre artisanat d'art et fabrication industrielle, atelier familial et manufacture, luthier fabricant et luthier marchand, métier d'homme et féminisation de certaines tâches au sein des manufactures – stratégies qui n'empêcheront pas le déclin du métier de luthier après la Seconde Guerre mondiale.

Listed in a long-running research into the genesis of 'memory' as a category of public action, this article seeks to take the concept of staging the past at the forefront of the letter in order to question the social thickness of the now almost systematic recourse to artistic work in the conduct of these policies. Why such mobilisation of the artistic work but also of the person who is the author of it? What do initiators seem to expect and what status (s) do they give to this speech and the works in question? The choice to look at remembrance policies through their use of art and artists makes it possible to ask different questions about the relationship between norms, propaganda and 'remembrance' policies. While several works have looked at the link between art and memory, they take the most symbolic work according to a post-modern reading grid. Here the approach is significantly different. The sources on which this article is based consist mainly of field notes collected as a participating observer. As a member of the South Conceptualismos Network (RCSur) and without attempting to attribute to my voice a representative character of the group, in this presentation I analyse the alliance between this collective platform of knowledge and position on the artistic and political practices of the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s in Latin America and the current cultural policies of the National Museum of the Centro de Arte Reina Sofia (MNCARS) as a unique case of institutional experimentation and networking that aims at re-shaping the relations between the Southern Museum and Public Dialogue in Latin America and the current cultural policies of the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofia (Museo Nacional de Arte Reina Sofia) as a unique case of institutional experimentation and networking aimed at re-shaping the relations between the Southern Museum and Public Dialogue in Latin America and the current cultural policies of the National Museum of Reina Reina Sofia (MNCARS). From a post-colonial perspective, the scope and faults of the project are analysed, including these reflections in the aesthetic and political tensions in the current economic and social crisis. Video art, how it became a category. Video art is the first form of art that was given a history even before it actually had one. This paper counts the story of cultural institutions engaged in building a category based on technical devices, as if these devices were the only criterion to gather works that had little in common. Thus, it shows how technology has taken precedence over the most subversive messages, and, how, as a result, artistic experiences are currently being reshaped by this history. Since history defines the contemporary art field, we are confronted with works plainly reduced to their formal characteristics – the latter being supposed to continue a so-called tradition, or to be in a break with it, according to this idea that art has always kept in touch with the most recent technology. What is at stake is to understand how, while the field closes on its own logic, historic thinking will eventually classify videos according to criterions that separate them from other fields, such as independent cinema, literature, philosophy… Although it may seem obvious that video art is, in itself, interdisciplinary, this word calls for close reconsideration, since the latest developments of the arts made it a decisive factor of recognition. ; L'art vidéo est la première forme artistique à avoir eu une histoire avant même d'en avoir eu une. International audience Connections between economics and art encompass far more than simply the art market. By looking beyond auction prices, artists' career trajectories, and marketing strategies, scholars can better engage with the economic significance of art objects in a range of social and discursive fields. This essay proposes that works of art are often the best material evidence of broader economic debates and conditions beyond the market economy, even beyond capitalism. Our claims are twofold. Although financial transactions are often considered abstract, we suggest that the economic sphere is populated with material objects that merit art-historical attention. Artworks, meanwhile, reveal the forces of a global market beyond the limits of the art world. They do not simply thematize or represent economic issues; they are also agents partaking in the economic debates of their time.

Summary This article seeks to interpret the modernisation movement in Latin America, the poetry of Rubén Darío and other writers of the time with the categories expressed by Ángel Rama in his trial The legal city. Branch rarely refers to this group of writers who follow an art aesthetic by art that clearly separates itself from political and social issues. However, a reinterpretation of Rama's thesis makes it feasible to integrate its texts into the advocate city of the Uruguayan critic. ; Resumen Este artículo trata de interpretar el movimiento modernista en América Latina, la poesía de Rubén Darío y otros escritores de la época con las categorías expresadas por Ángel Rama en su ensayo La ciudad letrada. Rama se refiere raras veces a este grupo de escritores que siguen una estética del arte por el arte que se separa tajantemente de cuestiones políticas y sociales. Sin embargo, una reinterpretación de las tesis de Rama vuelve factible la integración de sus textos en la ciudad letrada del crítico uruguayo.

La distinction conceptuelle entre les notions d'art et d'artisanat est, au Japon, une résultante de la transformation des catégories intellectuelles liées à l'occidentalisation du pays à la fin du XIXe siècle. Dans cette situation nouvelle, si l'art est rapidement valorisé de manière institutionnelle, l'artisanat est alors doublement menacé par son exclusion des politiques culturelles gouvernementales et par l'industrialisation rapide de l'archipel. Cet article a pour objectif de proposer une histoire des discours et des acteurs publics ou privés qui ont œuvré à la réévaluation théorique et à la préservation des métiers manuels depuis le début du XXe siècle, pour finalement donner forme au patrimoine identitaire que représente cet héritage dans le Japon d'aujourd'hui.
