The paper seeks to explore the strategies instrumental for the implementation of the body politic metaphor that had been active in Western culture since classical antiquity in the plays authored by present-day North American dramatists (Sarah Ruhl's Passion Play, USA, 2010, and Timothy Findley's Elizabeth Rex, Canada, 2000). Drawing upon the concept of the "king's two bodies" (E. Plowden, E. Кantorowicz, М. Аxton, А. Мusolff, L. Montrose and other New Historicists), the author sets out to demonstrate that in S. Ruhl's dramatic cycle the metaphor serves to indicate the inextricable links between the concepts of power, the sacred, and the theatrical, whereas Т. Findley uses it to study the ontology of sex and gender in political and theatrical contexts. It is argued that the age-old somatic metaphor conceived in the archaic layers of human psyche manifests its viable receptive potential through its efficient functioning in the early 21st century cultural artifacts. и "Elizabeth Rex" Т.

Separate discussed questions of standartization of authorities of a head of the pre-trial investigation body
The paper is devoted to studying the modern condition of normative-legal regulation of authorities of a head of the pre-trial investigation body. It is noted, that the effective support of realization of criminal proceedings by the pre-trial investigation bodies, declared in art. 2 of the CPC of Ukraine, is impossible without departmental control functioning. According to the actual legislation, realization of such control at a pre-trial investigation by an investigator in criminal proceedings is entrusted to a head of the pre-trial investigation body. It is stated, that the Ukrainian legislation on organization and procedural guidance of a pre-trial investigation needs correspondence for avoiding contradictions, actual for today. Attention is accented that CPC has no foundations, at which a head of the pre-trial investigation body is entrusted to be informed about pre-trial investigation materials that brings an uncertainty element in the work of an investigator. Such statement is explained by the fact that it is not clear, when and which criminal proceeding is possible to require for studying; how many time is needed by a head for studying it; what decisions may be made according to results of such studying. According to the system analysis of the statements of part 3 art. 40 of the CPC of Ukraine and part 2, art. 312 of the CPC, it is stated, that they don't correspond to each other. At that art. 40 of the CPC of Ukraine is general and art. 312 of the CPC of Ukraine is special, so the last one is priority. A conclusion was made that legislative gaps as to standardization of authorities of a head of the pre-trial investigation body have the negative influence on the law enforcement activity. So, they must be solved by introducing correspondent changes and additions in the CPC of Ukraine and departmental normative-legal acts, regulating the activity of a head of the pre-trial investigation body, and it concerns both organizational aspects and his/her procedural activity.

THE GREAT BODY OF SOCIETY: IS THE NINTH CENTURY RETURNING? ;
The author of the article puts a question about the limits of the 20th century individualism. He expresses a hypothesis about the cyclic nature of the cultural and political theory. In particular, he draws attention to the rhythm of changes of the hedonistic and ascetic ep- ochs, spiritualist and materialist epochs, individualist and holist epochs. The author ana- lyzes holistic doctrines of the 19th century: philosophies of Fabre d'Olivet, Auguste Comte, Pierre Leroux. Although today almost forgotten, the ideas of these authors can be revived again in the 21st century, he says. Based upon the analysis of the 19th century holism which the author did in his book Liquid ideologies, the author makes a hypothesis that the 21st century is becoming much less individualistic and much less materialistic than the 20th century. The metaphors of the "collective body" and "absolute spirit" are coming back in the 21st century, in the new form of the digital reality.

Practice of visualization of patriotic moods of Ukrainian people in the form of body art (tattoo-regalia), which became more intensified during and after the Revolution of Dignity, is analyzed in the article. It is proved that pro-Ukrainian body art as a kind of "body language" is a socio-political (patriotic) marker. In the article there is argued that the human body is not only biological, economic or virtual unit, but also a semiotic (sign) one; it acts as a kind of text, related to the social construction of identity; a set of specific social signs, symbols and codes. Tattoo-regalia is considered by the author as a symbolic expression of social interaction, mean of visual of non-verbal communication through the transformation of the natural structure of a man. It is noted that the patriotic body art is external corporeal expression of cultural meanings, which is manifested in tendencies among the Ukrainians to put patriotic images: tridents, embroidered ornaments, images of "Heaven Hundreds", Cossack images. The author emphasizes that the good reason to put patriotic tattoo is an ideology: tattooregalia perceives by others as a visualization of a clear identification of the person with certain events in life of the state and the nation. It is proved that modern Ukrainian patriotic body art expresses emotions and (or) individual awareness of belonging to a particular social and personal position within social roles (Ukrainian, patriot, a fighter for certain national values). Attention is paid to the fact that the current practice of patriotic body art is associated with markers of both personal and the group (national) identity. ; Practice of visualization of patriotic moods of Ukrainian people in the form of body art (tattoo-regalia), which became more intensified during and after the Revolution of Dignity, is analyzed in the article. The processes of national self identification of Ukraine citizens are studied through clothes with patriotic prints.
