Theoretical approaches to e-book research ; Teorijski pristupi istraživanju e-knjige
The adoption and continued use of innovations by societies, organisations and individuals has been a subject of research since before the 1930s. A variety of different theories have been developed to account for the different speeds at which innovations are adopted and the factors that affect the adoption process. This paper reviews theories of the adoption of innovations with particular reference to the recent phenomenon of the e-book as a cultural innovation that is having an impact on individuals, organizations and national policy makers. The paper will suggest which theories are most appropriate for the different levels at which the innovation is employed.

DISTRIBUCIJA ZNANJA OD TISKANE DO E-KNJIGE ; DISTRIBUTION OF KNOWLEDGE FROM PRINTED TO E-BOOK
; Book is affirmed as a metaphor for the world of knowledge and it has greatly influenced on the knowledge content not only as a keeper and carrier of the same, therefore future of the book and its varieties is not a discussion about some product future but an issue of directing processes which form cultures and civilizations. Will the printed book have the same future as candles after the light bulb had been invented? Will the writings digitalization greatly influence on democratization, mobility, availability, knowledge visibility, which is preserved and distributed in both of these forms or will the e-book with its multimedia interactivity and multidimensionality greatly influence not only on distribution but also knowledge? Current offers and readership rating of e-book in Croatia suggest that it is yet to take hold. State policies also do not have real intentions for supporting e-books. Support has started, but only symbolically, tax regulation does not equalize printed and e-book what certainly does not help promotion and support of e-book in Croatia.

Cenzura kršćanskih knjiga u časopisu Knjiga i čitaoci (1967.-1979.) Društva bibliotekara Hrvatske (Hrvatskog bibliotekarskog društva) ; Christian Books censorship in Journal Knjiga i čitaoci (Book and Readers) (1967 - 1979) by "Društvo bibliotekara Hrvatske" / "Hrvatsko bibliotekarsko društvo" (Asso...
; In this paper, the author presents the history of the Journal Knjiga i čitaoci (Book and Readers), intended for libraries in Croatia. As the main additions to the Journal were the lists of new books in libraries and description of selected new titles, the Journal had an extremely important role in the policy of the library's new acquisitions. In the twelve years of Journal's existence, in the lists of new books, the Journal has listed only a dozen books which addressed the topic of Christian faith, and some of these books were written by Marxists. The editorial board of the Journal considered the leader of October Revolution, Vladimir Ilich Lenin, a role model for every librarian, as he believed that the value of libraries was not the number of old and rare books they hold, but rather the number of books which promote the idea of Bolshevik Revolution. That is why the Journal advocated a "socialist librarian" – a librarian who promotes the ideas of the socialist revolution through books. Publication of the Journal started in 1967. "Savez ustanova i organizacija za širenje knjige SRH" (Institutes and Organizations for Book Popularization Association of SRH), with "Prosvjetni sabor SRH" (The Education Council of SRH), Association of Croatian Librarians has been the co-publisher since 1968, and the sole publisher since 1970 was DBH, which, in 1971, changed its name to the Croatian Library Association. In the first two years of publishing, Vinko Lalić – secretary of the Association of Institutes and Organizations for Book Popularization of SRH, held the key role in Journal editing, followed by librarians from the Zagreb City Libraries - Božidar Adžija, Mijo Haramina and Dubravko Štiglić. In the final part of the article, the author lists several books published by "Hrvatsko književno društvo sv. Ćirila i Metoda " (Croatian Literary Association of St. Cyril and Methodius) in the period from 1967 to 1979, about which the libraries were not informed.

"Cvijeće zla" – Bijela knjiga Saveza komunista Hrvatske ; 'The Flowers of Evil': The White Book of the League of Communists of Croatia
; The White Book is the popular name for the internal analysis of the League of Communists of Croatia from March 1984, in which anti-system occurrences in the public space—i.e. those that were at odds with the policies of the League of Communists of Yugoslavia—from 1982 to 1984 and mostly from Serbia, were gathered. It was the result of the consistent implementation of the policies of the Central Committee of the League of Communists of Yugoslavia in Croatia as well as in most parts of the other Yugoslav republics and autonomous provinces. In Serbia, this was done only partially, obviously due to a desire to avoid a thorough settling of accounts with the media and anti-communists, because they were important to a part of the political leadership that wanted a change of the political system, which was a euphemism for redefining Yugoslav federalism. The goal of the Analysis was to highlight this issue, while the Consultations of Cultural Creators held on 23 May 1984 were intended to offer help from Zagreb. It appears that the White Book purposefully ended up in the hands of persons in Belgrade for whose eyes it had not been intended, and thus worsened relations between the Leagues of Communists of Croatia and Serbia. The White Book was also the cause of long-lasting media polemics, despite the Party leadership's demands that they be stopped. It is a concrete example that there existed serious differences in the approach to the topic of ideological struggle within the League of Communists of Yugoslavia, and that the conclusions of the League's Central Committee were not being conducted according to the principles of 'democratic centralism'.

UTJECAJ UMREŽENA DRUŠTVA NA KNJIŽNICE – DIGITALIZACIJA KNJIŽNIČNE GRAĐE ; THE INFLUENCE OF NETWORKED SOCIETY ONTO LIBRARIES – DIGITALIZATION OF LIBRARY ARCHIVES
; With the technological development and having entered the global age we are faced with a need to change the libraries too, libraries as the pillars of the society. Considering the changes in the information, communication and above all technological sphere there was a need for the libraries for a quick adjustment to the new ways of working. Digitalization of library archives, which is discussed in this paper, is a long and financially and professionally engaging process that is supposed to contribute to the efficiency of the libraries, help the users, advance information knowledge and prompt a number of other factors. Through the digitalization process the scientific community, as well as society as a whole, would have a larger information access, meaning possibility of acquiring more knowledge. In order to speak of the digitalization process and its advantages, we should first differenciate between the terms like digital library, hybrid library and electronic library, which this paper offers an overview of. Without the help of governments, international organizations and various other sponsors libraries cannot become an important factor in culture, education, science and overal development. Looking through the overview of historical development of the digital libraries, we can notice that it is mostly 20th ct. works that are digitalized. One of the reasons is the copyright that prevents digitalization of the 20th and 21st ct. works without the author's consent. The paper enumerates a number of advantages of the digitalization of library archives like intelectual content protection, smaller mechanical damages, space saving, larger access to the materials, frequency of usage of the archives, etc. According to a number of experts, the authors of this paper state the elements that should be taken into consideration in order to digitalize the archives. Orphan works, works without an author, are the largest problem in the digitalization process and the process of making digital libraries. A directive made at the level of EU is still not implemented although it would contribute to the digitalization process and availability of such works. A part of this paper is also about the term e-book, its etymology, definition, advantages and disadvantages, as well as about formal and intelectual properties of an e-book. The reseach part of the paper focuses onto three large digitalization processes in the world: Gutenberg project, Million Book and Google Books. These projects initiated the project of mass digitalization of the library archives. The motiv of these projects was to enable the users to have access to the archives and information.

Ktetici kao pravopisno pitanje ; Place Name Adjectives as an Orthographic Issue
The subject of this paper is the writing of place name adjectives in Croatian spelling books from 1892 to 2013. In Croatian spelling books place name adjectives were written in their original form until the unitarianist political intrusions into the Croatian language and Croatian orthography in 1930 and 1960. Ever since, the writing of place name adjectives has been distorted, and modern spelling books standardize it in three basic ways: a) according to their pronunciation (with transcription rules), b) in their original form, and c) in two different ways.
