In the 1970s, the term "civil society" was reinvented almost simultaneously in Latin America and Central and Eastern Europe.The problems of consolidating democracy are often interpreted as the result of a weakened civil society that has not established itself as an independent arena in the new political system. This article explores the basic similarities and differences in the character of civil society in both regions aswell as asks several questions concerning its relations with political regimes and the role of social movements international nongovernment organizations in theformation of civil society. ; Nos anos 1970, o termo "sociedade civil" foi reinventado quase simultaneamente na América Latina e na Europa Central e Oriental. Os problemas com a consolidação da democracia são freqüentemente interpretados como resultado de umasociedade civil fragilizada, que não se estabeleceu como arena independente no novo sistema político. Este artigo exploraas similaridades e diferenças básicas no caráter da sociedade civil em ambas asregiões e faz alguns questionamentos acerca das relações com os regimes políticos bem como sobre o papel dos movimentos sociais e das organizações nãogovernamentaisinternacionais na formação da sociedade civil.

This article seeks links between contemporary Europe and its historical state-nation experiences, above all when regarding "Reading the Other". Discussing – and challenging – the main three European dimensions – geographical, political and cultural, the article points out Europe's mission/task/meta-art - still to be fully fulfilled – to develop its remarkable "capacity to live, permanently and beneficially, with cultural difference: profitably to all sides not despite their differences, but thanks to them", as well as "to acquire and share the art of learning from each other". Tracing such abilities already in the Roman Empire the article focuses in particular on two Modern Central European states, based on multiculturalism and multinationalism: the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth and the Austro-Hungarian Empire. Both are discussed as experiments worthy of becoming essential examples for the today Europe. ; Esta comunicação procura ligações entre a europa contemporânea e as suas experiências históricas de estados-nações, sobretudo no que diz respeito a "Ler o Outro". Discutindo – e desafiando – as três principais dimensões europeias – geográfica, política e cultural – o autor salienta a missão/tarefa/meta-arte da Europa – ainda por concretizar por completo – de desenvolver a sua notável "capacidade de viver, permanente e beneficamente, com a diferença cultural: proveitosamente para todos lados, não apesar das suas diferenças, mas graças a elas", bem como de "adquirir e partilhar a arte de aprender com os outros". Encontrando já tais capacidades no Império Romano, esta comunicação centra-se particularmente em dois estados europeus modernos, baseados no multiculturalismo e no multinacionalismo: a commomwealth polaco-lituana e o império austro-húngaro. This study examined companies from two different groups of countries in Central and Eastern Europe and their partnerships with the Government for the development of four types of innovation (product, process, organizational, and marketing). The research included ex-soviet republics (Eu members and non-members), and observed how each type of innovation affects the firms' financial performance. A sample of 1,143 manufacturing SMEs from the Business Environment and Enterprise Performance Survey (BEEPS) were tested using multiple regression and logit. Based on the absorptive capacity theory, the results show that manufacturing SMEs from EU-member countries have a higher absorptive capacity and take advantage of the EU's innovation promotion programs to innovate. On the other hand, the SMEs from non EU-member states perceive a quicker effect of the innovations in financial performance, considering that there is a technological gap between the two groups (non EU-members are less developed). Also, the introduction of different types of innovations simultaneously boosts the performance of firms from non EU-member countries in the short run. ; Este estudio investigó la importancia de las alianzas con el Gobierno para el desarrollo de los cuatro tipos de innovación (producto, proceso, organizacional y marketing) en empresas de dos grupos diferentes de países de Europa Central y Oriental (ECO), incluyendo las antiguas repúblicas soviéticas europeas (países miembros de la Unión Europea –UE, y países no miembros de la UE); y cómo cada tipo de innovación afecta el desempeño financiero de las empresas. Para alcanzar esta meta, se probó una muestra de 1.143 PyME manufactureras del Business Environment and Enterprise Performance Survey (BEEPS) utilizando regresión múltiple y logit. Con base en la teoría de la capacidad de absorción, se encontró que las PyME manufactureras de países de la UE tienen una mayor capacidad de absorción y se benefician de los programas de promoción de la innovación de la UE para innovar. In nanomedicine the nanocarriers are generally biocompatible, biodegradable with rapid biodistribution in the body and can be used to carry drugs or therapeutic genes. Thus, new drug delivery systems have been heavily exploited in the treatment of CNS disorders such as Parkinson's, Alzheimer's and glioma, since the CNS is a major challenge for therapeutic approaches due to the blood-brain barrier (BBB) and blood–cerebrospinal fluid (BCSFB). Thus, the scientific community together with government and private industry has added efforts to generate new formulations in nanoscale in order to achieve an appropriate therapeutic approach, satisfying, and that is within the principles of health monitoring for cerebral affections. This article aims to summarize the knowledge about the main barriers to drug delivery to the CNS, Nanomedicine, Glioma, Parkinson's, Alzheimer's and sanitary surveillance. ; Na nanomedicina, os nanocarreadores são geralmente, biocompatíveis, biodegradáveis de rápida biodistribuição pelo organismo e podem ser utilizados para transportar drogas ou genes terapêuticos. Assim, novos sistemas de liberação de fármacos têm sido altamente explorados no tratamento de doenças do Sistema Nervoso Central (SNC), como Parkinson, Alzheimer e gliomas, visto que o SNC representa um grande desafio para as abordagens terapêuticas devido às barreiras hemato-encefálica (BHE) e sangue-líquido cefalorraquidiano (BSLCR). Desse modo, a comunidade científica juntamente com instituições governamentais e indústrias privadas vem somando esforços para gerar novas formulações em escalas nanométricas com o intuito de alcançar uma abordagem terapêutica adequada, satisfatória e que esteja dentro dos princípios da vigilância sanitária para os acometimentos cerebrais. Este artigo visa sumarizar os conhecimentos sobre principais barreiras para entrega de fármacos ao SNC, Nanomedicina, Glioma, Parkinson, Alzheimer e vigilância sanitária.

La tesi sostiene che, mentre molte teorie di pianificazione si sono concentrate sulle differenze, il multiculturalismo e risoluzione dei conflitti sociali, non c'è ancora sufficiente approfondimento su come queste differenze possano restare profondamente irrisolte e come questa debolezza possa essere fortemente legata a razionalità contrastanti e a una sorta di "slittamento dei livelli di senso" o "equivoci" cognitivi tra i soggetti coinvolti (Bourdieu e Wacquant, 1992). Soprattutto in termini di conflitti urbani espliciti, generati non da opposti interessi economici o differenti volontà politiche, ma semplicemente da differenti background culturali e comportamentali, il livello cognitivo di com-prensione tra le persone coinvolte ha un ruolo fondamentale in termini di consapevolezza e di effi-cacia delle scelte. Dunque il legame tra pianificazione, governance, contesti istituzionali e partecipazione delle comu-nità è, prima di tutto, una questione di reciproca, profonda e vera comprensione, piuttosto che la continua ricerca di nuovi strumenti e politiche. Partendo dalla convinzione che i conflitti siano una fonte incredibile di soluzioni creative e inaspet-tate all'interno dei contesti urbani, dei sistemi di pianificazione e di condivisione di valori, questo lavoro si propone di sondare come la Mobilitazione Cognitiva (Dalton, 1984), per la cura e la prote-zione di un bene comune, può essere in grado di guidare una comunità nella lotta per i propri diritti, permettendo l'acquisizione di conoscenze politiche e abilità specifiche per il raggiungimento di decisioni condivise collettivamente, la costruzione di nuove forme di azione politica dal basso, nuove processi di educazione (Dolci, 1974) e ampliamento culturale contro il prevaricare di Egemonie politiche e sociali (Gramsci, 2007). Utilizzando metodi quantitativi e qualitativi, l'autore presenta due esperienze di pratiche insorgenti provenienti dall' Europa meridionale: (1) un tradizionale Caso-Studio nell' area marina protetta dell' Arrábida, in Portogallo, per illustrare come la mobilitazione cognitiva, volta alla genuina e profonda comprensione delle istanze portate avanti dalla collettività, può realizzare forme di partecipazione che, guardando ai problemi in termini di risorse, permettono alla comunità di collaborare democra-ticamente cercando soluzioni nuove e condivise in grado di modificare profondamente un piano isti-tuzionale il quale, a causa di una profonda contrapposizione tra poteri gioco e valori espressi, ha ge-nerato forme di conflitto dichiarato, ma anche latente; (2) un caso di Participatory Action Research nella valle del fiume Simeto, in Italia, dove le comunità locali, attraverso una forte mobilitazione collettiva, sono state in grado di difendere e curare il fiume Simeto, il più grande in termini di bacino idrogeologico in un territorio caratterizzato da scarsità idrica come la Sicilia, minacciato dalla scelta istituzionale di collocare un inceneritore proprio in un area fortemente incentrata sull'agricoltura, per il suo sostentamento economico, e profondamente legata al paesaggio circostante, in termini di riconoscimento e senso di appartenenza. Questo lavoro può avere importanti implicazioni sia per la teoria, che per la pratica di pianificazione. La scelta di un approccio multi-disciplinare, inoltre, aiuta nella comprensione di come sia possibile trasformare l'antagonismo in spirito competitivo tra soggetti, diversi per natura e per cultura, concentrandosi principalmente sul rispetto e l'apprendimento reciproco, sulla costruzione di processi veramente inclusivi e sulla scelta di soluzioni davvero condivise. ; The thesis argues that while many planning theories have focused the sight on the social differences, multiculturalism and conflicts resolution, there is not yet sufficient acknowledgement on how these differences can be deeply unsolved and how this weakness could be strongly linked with conflicting rationalities and with a 'cognitive slipping' planes of meaning (Bourdieu & Wacquant, 1992). Especially in terms of inexplicit urban conflicts, generated by not opposite economic interests or political will, but by simply and natural differences of the cultural and behavioral baggage, the cognitive level of understanding between people involved plays a fundamental role in terms of awareness and choices efficacy. So this works wants underlines that the link between planning, governance, institutional adjustments and community engagement is, first of all, a matter of mutual deep and real understanding, rather than new form of tools and policies. Starting from the persuasion that conflicts are an incredible source of unexpected creative solution for urban contexts, planning systems and sharing values, this paper aims to probe how a 'cognitive mobilization' (Dalton, 1984) of a community, for the care and the protection of a common good, can be able to "fight for a right" in terms of acquiring political resource and skills to reach own decisions, and constructing new form of genuine power through education (Dolci, 1974) and culture against a 'dominant discourse' (Gramsci, 2007). Using quantitative and qualitative methods, the author presents two field experiences of insurgent practices in the southern Europe: (1) a traditional Case-Study of a Marine Protected Area in Arrábida, Portugal, to illustrate how a community mobilization, that aims to understand really every form of instance and claim, can realize forms of participation that, first of all, sight problems in term of resources, and then allowed people to work democratically together building new and shared solutions able to modify deeply an institutional plan that, due to a displacement between powers and values, generated forms of conflicts between stakeholders, especially in terms of economic and decision making point of view; (2) a case of Participatory Action Research in the Simeto river valley, Italy, where local communities through a strong mobilization were able to defend and took care the river, the biggest in terms of basin in a scarcity water territory, threatened by the institutional choice to collocated an incinerator in a valley strongly based on agriculture, for its economic sustenance, and deeply linked with the landscape, for its recognition and sense of belonging to . This understanding, it is suggested, has important implications for both planning theory and practice. Choosing a multi-disciplinary approach, this work attempts to explore if and how it is possible to transform the antagonism between enemies in competitive spirit among subjects, different for nature and culture, focusing on respect and mutual learning and on the building up of processes really inclusive and choices really shared

The article presents the results of a survey carried out in the European Union (EU) regarding the production and use of biogas from different sources. The EU is a world leader in the field of biogas, with a production of 10,085.8 ktoe y-1 (in 2011) in terms of primary energy, accounting for about 60% of the world's production. Germany is the EU country that has made the greatest progress in this field with a production of as much as 5,067.6 ktoe y-1, of which a share of 4,414.2 ktoe y-1 results from anaerobic digestion (and co-digestion) processes of selected organic matrices. UK is the second largest producer with 1,764.8 ktoe y 1, determined for 84% by landfill biogas and the remainder by biogas produced in sewage treatment plants (sludge digestion). Italy (1,095.7 ktoe y-1) and France (349.6 ktoe y-1) follow in the list of the largest producers. The trend of biogas production, in accordance with the action lines of the EU, is characterized by a progressive increase from anaerobic digestion (and co-digestion) of selected organic matrices and a progressive decrease from landfills. Production in 2020 is estimated at 28.0 Mtoe y-1 in accordance with the EU Renewable Energy National Plans. The uses of biogas are mainly directed to the production of electricity and heat. There are, however, several cases of conversion of biogas into biomethane injected into the natural gas grids or used as biofuel in vehicles. In this last direction, worthy of note are a few north-central EU countries which have implemented an effective policy to promote the use of biomethane for public and private transport. ; O artigo apresenta os resultados de uma pesquisa realizada na União Europeia sobre a produção e utilização de biogás a partir das diferentes fontes. A União Europeia demonstra um papel de liderança mundial na área de biogás, com a sua produção de 10.085,8 ktoe ano-1 (em 2011) em termos de energia primária, respondendo por cerca de 60% da produção mundial. A Alemanha é o país europeu que tem feito os maiores progressos neste domínio, com uma produção tanto quanto 5.067,6 ktoe ano-1, dos quais uma parte de 4.414,2 ktoe ano-1 resulta dos processos de digestão anaeróbia (e co-digestão) de matrizes orgânicas selecionadas. O Reino Unido é o segundo maior produtor da Europa com uma quota de 1.764,8 ktoe ano-1, com 84% do biogás proveniente de aterros sanitários e o restante produzido em estações de tratamento de esgotos (digestão do lodo). Itália (1.095,7 ktoe ano-1) e França (349,6 ktoe ano-1) seguem na lista dos maiores produtores europeus de biogás. The bioaccumulation of the heavy metals Cu, Zn, Fe and Pb was determined in the livers, kidneys and muscles of Oncorhynchus mykiss trout at seven production centers in the province of Yauli, Junín-Peru. The determination and quantification of total heavy metals in water samples collected monthly from the production sites and in 28 trout that averaged 250 g and 27 cm was performed by atomic absorption spectrophotometry, according to the methodology recommended by FAO. Levels of Zn, Fe and Pb were found to exceed the environmental quality standards established by the Peruvian Ministry of the Environment for the rivers of the coast and highlands, as well as the quality standards of the European Union for the cultivation of trout, while levels of Cu conformed with those standards. Concentration of Cu, Zn, Fe and Pb in the livers, kidneys and muscles exceeded the maximum permissible limits established by the European Union for fish meat and by the Mexican official standard, NOM-027-SSA1-1993, for fresh, refrigerated and frozen fishery products, in the case of Pb. Com exceção do Cu, alguns níveis de Zn, Fe e Pb foram encontrados na água em padrões de qualidade ambiental superiores aos estabelecidos pelo Ministério do Meio Ambiente do Peru para os rios do litoral e planalto, e aos padrões de qualidade da União Europeia para o cultivo da truta. A concentração de Cu, Zn, Fe e Pb no fígado, nos rins e nos músculos excedeu os limites máximos permitidos pela União Europeia para a carne de peixe; e pela NOM-027-SSA1-1993 mexicana para os produtos frescos da pesca, refrigerados e congelados, no caso de Pb. A correlação entre a concentração de cobre, zinco, ferro e chumbo em água e a concentração destes metais no fígado, rim e no músculo, é baixa e não significativa, exceto para cobre que teve correlação significativa.

Although organic agriculture in Brazil targets mainly local consumers, there is growing demand for research related to commercializing this sector abroad. A study was done in Europe on the perception of entities related to this theme, specifically on Participatory Guarantee Systems (PGS), the feasibility of equivalence between the countries, and control procedures. An exploratory study was conducted through interviews with five organic certification bodies, two in Switzerland, three in Italy, and with a producer association in Italy. PGS is little known in Europe in general and it is suggested that it be better disseminated in the member countries. PGS has been evaluated positively for reducing certification costs and promoting benefits from a social aspect, but it can fail in organic compliance and in large scale production. There are significant differences that must be overcome in order to establish equivalence, such as the lack of homogeneity among European countries on control procedures, the existence of PGS in Brazilian legislation, lack of wild crop products in Europe, different conversion periods, and the requirement of a higher number of inspections in Brazil. Equivalence is seen as beneficial to both Europe and Brazil, and it would therefore be appropriate to promote its viability. Uma pesquisa foi realizada na Europa sobre a percepção de entidades relacionadas a este tema, especificamente sobre Sistemas Participativos de Garantia (SPG), a viabilidade da equivalência entre os países e os procedimentos de controle. Um estudo exploratório foi realizado através de entrevistas com cinco organismos de certificação orgânica, dois na Suíça, três na Itália e uma associação de produtores na Itália. O SPG é pouco conhecido na Europa em geral e é sugerido divulgar melhor nos países membros. O SPG foi avaliado positivamente para reduzir os custos de certificação e promover os benefícios de um aspecto social, mas pode falhar na conformidade orgânica e na produção em grande escala. Existem diferenças significativas para estabelecer equivalência, como a falta de homogeneidade entre os países europeus em procedimentos de controle, a existência de SPG na legislação brasileira, a falta de produtos do extrativismo vegetal na Europa, diferentes períodos de conversão e a exigência de um maior número de inspeções no Brasil. A equivalência foi considerada benéfica para ambos e seria apropriado fazer esforços para torná-la viável. A legislação brasileira sobre agricultura orgânica é considerada muito restritiva e complexa.

The shift from the continent of emigration to the continent of immigration marks the change of an era for Europe. Since 1945, tens of millions of immigrants have reached Western Europe, at first from other European regions, then from every corner of the world. Thus, a remarkable social transformation took place: the (ultimate) birth of multi-national, multi-racial, multi-cultural, multi-religious societies. For a long time, governments and companies demanded that immigrants be only temporary, so as to have a mass of precarious, barely integrated, vulnerable workers. Such demand, strongly restated over the past few years, was fiercely opposed by immigrant populations, who responded with a wider social rooting. The same applies to the similar demand by the powers that be to impose on immigrants differential exploitation and any sort of discrimination, opposed by a long chain of struggles and upheaval. Over the course of decades, set on the background of the unsolved great crisis of 2008, this conflict has escalated, until the "question of immigration" has turned into a military question, to be fixed with the intervention of the navy and border police. This paper states that the stakes are now too high: either we go back to a model of society and state based on brutal "racial" and class oppression, or we go towards a society finally freed from any kind of oppression. ; Il passaggio dal continente di emigrazione al continente di immigrazione è stato un enorme cambiamento per l'Europa. Dal 1945, decine di milioni di immigrati sono arrivati in Europa occidentale, prima di altre regioni europee, dopo dei quattro angoli del mondo. Così si è verificata un'enorme trasformazione sociale: la nascita (definitiva) di società multinazionali, multirazziali, multiculturali, multireligiose. Per molto tempo i governi e le aziende hanno voluto che gli immigrati fossero solo temporanei, per avere una massa di lavoratori precari, poco integrati e vulnerabili. Questa rivendicazione, tornata con forza negli ultimi anni, ha incontrato l'orgogliosa resistenza delle popolazioni immigrate, che hanno creato un sempre maggiore radicamento sociale. Lo stesso vale per l'analoga rivendicazione dei poteri istituiti di sottoporre le popolazioni e i lavoratori migranti a uno sfruttamento differenziato e ad ogni tipo di discriminazione, che sono state affrontate con lotte e ribellioni. Per decenni, nel fondo minaccioso della grande crisi irrisolta del 2008, questo conflitto si è aggravato fino a trasformare la "questione immigrazione" in una questione militare, che deve essere risolta con le marine militari e la polizia di frontiera. Questo articolo spiega che c'è tanta cosa in gioco: o torniamo a un modello di società e stato basato sulla più brutale oppressione "razziale" e di classe, oppure passiamo a una società definitivamente liberata da queste e altre forme di oppressione ; A passagem de continente de emigração a continente de imigração foi para Europa uma mudança enorme. Assim se verificou uma transformação social enorme: o nascimento (definitivo) desociedades multinacionais, multirraciais, multiculturais, multirreligiosas. Durante um longo período, os governos e as empresas pretenderam que os imigrantes só fossem temporâneos, para poder dispor de uma massa de trabalhadores precários, pouco integrados, vulneráveis. Esta pretensão, que tem voltado com força nos últimos anos, encontrou a orgulhosa resistência das populações imigrantes, que criaram um enraizamento social cada vez maior. O mesmo vale para a pretensão similar dos poderes estabelecidos de submeter as populações e os/as trabalhadores/trabalhadoras migrantes a uma exploração diferencial e a todo tipo de discriminações, que foram encaradas com lutas e rebeliões. Durante décadas, no fundo ameaçador da grande crise não resolvida de 2008, esse conflito piorou até transformar a "questão imigração" numa questão militar, que deve ser solucionada com as marinhas militares e as polícias de fronteiras. Este artigo explica que há muita coisa em jogo: ou voltamos a um modelo de sociedade e estado baseado na mais brutal opressão "racial" e de classe, ou vamos para frente para uma sociedade definitivamente liberada dessas e outras formas de opressão.

The logistics went over the century, as noted by Gonçalves (2007), from a fragmented and diluted within and value of organizations profile to a critical role in the strategy of the networks and chains of international business. For the twenty-first century, as will be seen in this article, logistics goes beyond these functions going to represent a social and political role in international relations between countries. The installation of a port located in East Africa near the Red Sea, the critical incident will be reviewed during a technical mission undertaken by a researcher in 2009. This research field, in the form of checklist, appoint the main barriers in infrastructure, information, rules and norms. The results indicate critical constraints of infrastructure and institutional opportunities that impact the implementation of new developments there. We will show that the progressive development of organizational arrangement to a complex undertaking, such as ports, can be key role in reversing the condition of misery and poverty in African countries. ; A logística passou ao longo do século XX, como lembra Gonçalves (2007), de um perfil fragmentado e diluído no interior e no valor das organizações, para um papel crítico na estratégia das redes e cadeias de negócios internacionais. Para o século XXI, como será observada nesse artigo, a logística extrapola essas funções passando a representar um papel político e social nas relações internacionais entre países. A instalação de um porto localizado no leste africano, próximo ao Mar Vermelho, será o incidente crítico analisado durante uma missão técnica empreendida por um dos pesquisadores no ano de 2009. Essa pesquisa de campo, sob a forma de diário de bordo, apontará as principais barreiras no âmbito das infra-estruturas, das informações, das regras e dos princípios culturais. Os resultados indicam restrições críticas de infra-estrutura e oportunidades institucionais que impactam na implantação de empreendimentos naquele local. Será demonstrado que o desenvolvimento progressivo do arranjo organizacional de um empreendimento complexo, como o portuário, pode ser papel chave na inversão da condição de miséria e de pobreza nos países africanos.

The European Community in the end of 1992 will have achieved another important step of its integration. The increasingly tight cooperation among the Western European countries contrast with its crescent distance from the Latin American countries. The parameters that gauge the relation between the two regions, especially the economic ones, show this in an incontestable way. The process of the European integration, which aims today to the European Free Trade Association countries, will have now to include the conversion process of the Eastern Europe in free market economy. Thus, the EC attention to the Third World, which were previously focused to the countries of the Lomé Conventions, will be increasingly deviated from Latin America. ; The European Community in the end of 1992 will have achieved another important step of its integration. Através da análise de políticas culturais europeias e de estudos de caso paradigmáticos, este artigo destaca a ligação que existe entre o processo de normalização de línguas europeias minoritárias e a prática de legendagem de filmes: esta última é uma atividade que carece urgentemente de ser protocolada, na medida em que garante tanto a preservação da originalidade cultural da obra como o seu valor enquanto património cultural europeu material e imaterial. Neste sentido, propomo-nos analisar o fosso que existe entre as declarações abrangentes da União Europeia e a sua implementação por administrações estatais e locais, que frequentemente ocorrem em pacotes de medidas erráticas, arbitrárias e contingentes, que conduzem, deste modo, a uma sistemática ausência de resultados. Por fim, enunciaremos alguns desafios e recomendações, para dotar a Europa de um protocolo de legendagem de filmes, de modo a promover a diversidade cultural e a normalização de línguas não-hegemónicas. ; By analysing European cultural policies and paradigmatic case studies, this article highlights the close link between the normalisation of minority languages in Europe and film subtitling. Film subtitling is an activity that urgently needs to be protocolised insofar as it guarantees both the preservation of the cultural originality of the audiovisual work and its value as tangible and intangible European cultural heritage. To do so, we will analyse the legal divide between the all-encompassing European Union declarations and their implementation by state and local administrations, which often occur in erratic, random, contingent packages of measures that lead to a systemic absence of results. Finally, we will propose some key challenges and recommendations to provide Europe with a film subtitling protocol to promote cultural diversity and normalise non-hegemonic languages.
