At the end of the 2000s, migration dynamics in Chile were deeply transformed. A social conscience around immigration appeared gradually and brought the subject to the heart of the social and political debates. One of the reasons for this interest comes from the radical otherness attributed to new migrants and more particularly to black migrants. Their social visibility brings up debates that raise the question of the legitimacy of migrants to participate and belong to Chilean society, and help to define the "place" that should be attributed to them within it. However, the answers given to these questions materialize in a differentiated social treatment and in the conditions of life, in the state of health and in the processes of care. Based on the health knowledge and care of a group of migrants recently arrived in Chile and marked by a radical otherness, Haitians, this thesis questions how within the current Chilean society is built a "place" for migrants and the issues that this construction implies. Leur visibilité sociale suscite des débats qui posent la question de la légitimité des migrants à participer et à appartenir à la société chilienne et contribuent à définir la « place » qu'il convient de leur attribuer en son sein. Or, les réponses apportées à ces questions se matérialisent en un traitement social différencié et dans les conditions de vie, dans l'état de santé et les processus de soin. En partant des savoirs de santé et des parcours de soin d'un groupe de migrants récemment arrivé au Chili et marqué par une altérité radicale, des Haïtiens, cette thèse interroge comment au sein de la société chilienne actuelle se construit une « place » pour les migrants et les enjeux que cette construction implique. Cette recherche s'inscrit dans les théories de l'anthropologie médicale critique et repose sur une ethnographie réalisée dans le quartier de Los Nogales à Santiago du Chili.

This thesis deal with two fundamentals questions regarding Chile's recent past. The first one is the profound economical and social transformation lived between 1973 and 2003, that is to say the period that includes the military regime and the first three governments of the democratic transition. The second one refers to the evolution of the liberal economical thought in Chile, and the rising of a new entrepreneurial elite formed at the image of the neoclassical economists discourse. To situate the deepness of the changes that occurred in the country since 1973, the research goes back to the beginnings of the XIXth century when arrive to Chile the first ideas on economical liberalism, as well as the 1930 decade when the model of the "State of Compromise" is sealed. However, the analysis is centered on the origins and development of the "Chicago Boys" as managers of Chile's economical transformation understood as a different type of violence and the important changes produced inside the leading elite of the country (1973-2003). Finally, the thesis examines the uses of the recent past in the strategies of power and the representations of the new elite concerning the imaginaries of a society articulated around a free market model. ; Cette thèse traite deux questions fondamentales du passé récent du Chili. Ce document présente une partie des résultats d'une étude concernant le quinoa (Chenopodium quinoa willd.) effectuée auprès des communautés Mapuche de la région Araucanía au sud du Chili. L'objectif était d'évaluer les éléments de l'histoire du quinoa de cette région et le rôle des différents acteurs (agriculteurs et intitutions) impliqués dans la dynamique de biodiversité de cette plante. Tout d'abord, après que la conquête espagnole sa culture a quasi disparu, pour être remplacée par le riz et le blé dans le régime alimentaire des Mapuche. Néanmoins, quelques familles n'ont jamais cessé de cultiver le quinoa et ont conservé leurs variétés de famille. En 1996, une O.N.G. locale a commencé à développer des projets sur le quinoa, avec la constitution d'une première collection " landraces ", accompagné d'une récupération des savoirs locaux sur sa culture et ses usages, puis la réalisation d'ateliers sur les pratiques et des utilisations agricoles. Afin de recueillir toutes les informations concernant le quinoa, les systèmes de culture, la gestion des semences et les échanges, nous avons réalisé des enquêtes semi-structurées et qualitatives avec des paysans et des institutions de 4 villages représentant les deux zones agro-écologiques principales de la région. Le premier résultat est le fait que quoique plusieurs projets se soient développés il est clair que les paysans eux-mêmes sont les acteurs principaux de la conservation de biodiversité. Le deuxième résultat démontre qu'il y a deux types d'échanges dans les communautés et ils représentent l'accès principal aux semences. Le premier type est un échange " individuel " (entre personnes ou familles) à l'intérieur de la communauté. Le deuxième type est une sorte de marché traditionnel qui est organisé comme grand événement avec une cérémonie d'ouverture et la présentation de chaque participant. Dans chaque type d'échanges, nous pouvons noter les mêmes noms des participants principaux, appelés " Curadoras ". Ces agriculteurs semblent être particuliers et peuvent être comme " noeud de réseaux " parce qu'ils jouent un rôle essentiel dans des échanges et la circulation des semences (en cultivant un niveau élevé de la diversité, par la connaissance concernant les variétés et leur adaptation et les modes de gestion). En conclusion, ces fermiers nodaux participent à quasi tous les Trafkintüs (échanges) organisés dans la région, donnant une dynamique aux échanges et la confiance aux divers fermiers auxquels ils fournissent les semences. Le dernier et troisième résultat de cette étude est le fait que la même O.N.G. s'appuie sur la connaissance des systèmes semenciers locaux pour la conservation de diversité en organisant des ateliers entre les agriculteurs en mobilisant les " Curadoras ", qui participent activement comme formateurs.

The capacity of this metal to store electrical energy is of particular interest for the electric mobility sector. Although abundant on Earth, 60% of lithium reserves are in the Andes, in the so-called "lithium triangle", on the border between Argentina, Bolivia and Chile. Despite its key role for global productive networks, this area is composed of national and global margins. This thesis analyzes the territorial implications of lithium exploitation, relying on the observation that contemporary globalization unequally integrates the territories in which it is based. In a coveted yet marginalized space, does integration into globalization trigger integration logics at the national and local scales, or on the contrary, does it strengthen marginality? Based on fieldworks carried out in Argentina, Bolivia and Chile between 2015 and 2018, there search uses the tools of political geography and pays particular attention to the politics of scale. The first part analyzes the "lithium triangle" through three of its components: space, resource and actors' representation. The second part lays out the spatial reconfigurations induced by lithium exploitation projects, focusing on the dynamics of integration of the margins at three scales (global, national and local). The third part questions the relevance of the regional scale in the geopolitical analysis of this space.
