The article presents censorship reviews of Memoirs Found in a Bathtub by Stanisław Lem written in censorship offices in Cracow and Warsaw. As a result of the reservations expressed by censors, the author added a new preface to the novel which was accepted for the publication of the book without further interference. Numerous censorship documents dealing only with one novel clarify the circumstances of writing the foreword and also provide some insight to the censors' way of thinking, illustrate the most important control mechanisms and present formal evaluation criteria – both politically-ideological and aesthetic. The censors evaluating Lem's novel do not intend to go through the interpretative labyrinth of Memoirs…; they insist on author's unambiguous comments which would allow to neutralise political vagueness by the "appropriate" orientation of the novel. When accepting the new preface they seem to omit (yet it is not certain to what extant the omission is deliberate) the fact that the added foreword is another layer of the novel's fiction and is not a meta-comment which could be considered as the voice of the author.
The article is an attempt to trace the changes taking place in vocational education in Poland, paying special attention to the possibilities of local and regional activities supporting vocational education. The conclusions presented in the text result from the author's expert experience related to the implementation of projects to support vocational education. The presented model of support for vocational education is currently carried out by the Bialystok Human Resources Training Foundation in the city of Białystok and Białystok Poviat as the Competence Centre of the Białystok Functional Area. The experience in the implementation of the project and its effectiveness is so universal that the project will be implemented throughout the Podlasie Voivodeship. It can also be a model for local government units running vocational schools.
In the last couple of years, the concept of knowledge co-production has become more prominent. However, the meaning of the term and its relationship with the evidence-based policy (EBP) remains ambiguous. The main objectives of the review were to describe how the co-production of knowledge has been defined, the roles that individual actors can play in the process and the relationship between knowledge co-production and the evidence-based policy approach. The author asserted that the knowledge co-production was treated by the researchers both as a participatory research method and as an institutional solution for better policy implementation.
; Similarly to UK, Eurosceptic parties in Sweden, Finland and Denmark are pushing for an exit from the EU, which has been dubbed a Swexit, Fixit or Dexit. How the society of the Nordic countries have reacted for the economic crises in 2008, influx of migrants, and consequently – the lack of common European values? It found that Swedes, Finns and Danes believe that being in the EU is a positive thing, but an encouragement has been descended. The aim of the article is to analyse the attitude of the Nordic countries towards the European Union crisis.
Despite the growing attention of scholars studying the history of Polish women's movement in the 19th and 20th centuries as well as Polish women's lives and their autobiographical writing, there is still a significant number of female activists and authors who – despite their remarkable personality and/or pioneering work – met with little interest. One of those extraordinary women is Józefa Krzyżanowska-Kodis (1865–1940), one of the first Polish women to receive a doctorate in philosophy (from University of Zurich in 1893), a socialist, feminist, and co-founder of the Polish Section of the Women's International League for Peace and Freedom. Although she was unsuccessful in her efforts to obtain a university position in the United States, Józefa Kodis (Kodisowa) was a passionate philosopher, as well as a social activist and publicist. The few scholarly pieces on her focused on her friendship with Carl Hauptmann. By contrast, the author proposes to have a closer look at the memoirs of Józefa and her daughter Zofia Kodis-Freyer and other archival sources in order to present the most important experiences, cultural and interpersonal constellations, and networks that shaped Kodisowa's biography and perspective on female emancipation, female-male relations, social (in)equality, and pacifism. The article discusses critical opinions addressed at present to the UNO by the States and scholars. It was already during the San Francisco conference that the States raised objections to the adopted solutions. After 43 years of its existence, the UNO is still far from fulfilling the hopes which were fostered at the time of its foundation. The causes of shortcomings may be found in structural and managerial deficiencies. The complexity of the UNO structure influences the dissipation of efforts and makes the coordination more difficult. The waste of means on countless programmes, sub-programmes and projects has often been subject to criticism. The efforts to increase efficiency through establishing organs which were to improve the system failed (eg. Administrative Commitee on Co-ordination, Commitee on Programme and Co-ordination, Joint Inspection Unit). However, those organs helped to record and disclose shortcoming and their sources by way of Publishing critical reports. Managerial problems consist mostly in difficulties with poor professional qualifications of the UNO staff. The view that the professional level decreases constantly is shared by 69% of diplomats employed in the UNO-affiliated missions. Critical opinions are voiced also with respect to the unreality of projects, declarativity and mere talk present in the UN system. Particular organizations established on regional and political grounds, the number of which grows constantly and at present is close to 330, are far more efficient. The UNO documents indicate that the member-States most often call for the amendments of provisions on the Security Council, and in the first place on its composition and voting system. The author shares the view that multiplying agencies and organs, or abortive attempts to limit the role of superpowers in the Security Council will not bring adequate effects. Little efficiency of the UNO in maintaining the world peace may be eliminated not through a direct structure reform of the system but indirectly through activities aimed at improving the economic situation of the South. The UNO should work out a worldwide welfare programme which would influence indirectly the consolidation of the world peace through increasing the economic level of conflict-generating regions. Such a programme would have to adopt a system of preferences, for the existing free-market rules the disproportions between the North and the South. ; Digitalizacja i deponowanie archiwalnych zeszytów RPEiS sfinansowane przez MNiSW w ramach realizacji umowy nr 541/P-DUN/2016
Ageing is a challenge that requires development and implementation of horizontal social policy, which should take into account the diversity of older adults and the division of interventions aimed at this population and on the image of old age. The complexity of the negative consequences of ageing shows that there is a need to enhance cooperation between the public sector, the commercial sector, the NGO sector, and the informal sector at all levels of social policy. The paper discusses models of multisectoral social policy and the possibilities of integrating social services. Its conclusions include directions for further research and social innovation.

Me-economy and we-economy are models (trends, streams) in the global economy development. In the me-economy model the core of interest is a consumer (user, client, prosumer, etc.) and the customisation in meeting customers' needs. Contrary to me-economy, we-economy stands for reciprocity economy, co-production of products and/or services by the users and clients, supported by neighbourly relations and co-operation, the principles of wikinomics and prosumption. The above-mentioned trend combines the features of different systems and economic streams, i.e. the market economy with the traditional economy and the centrally controlled economic system, as well as the laissez-faire approach with libertarianism and liberalism. Due to the limited role of the state in functioning of this trend and the lack of suitable legal regulations and economic tools which would determine the development of we-economy, it is often perceived as a threat to social and economic security, and not as a direction of development stimulating the activities of various entities.

To istotny zabieg analityczny. ; The author draws the readers' attention to what is fundamental from the point of view of the disorder the world has found itself in in the 21st century, namely the current dismantling of the mechanisms that have hitherto stabilized international relations at the level of the global system, as well as its varied subsystems. The peculiar "apolarity" of this system is disturbing, it makes us feel threatened, raises questions and poses dilemmas with regard to the future, the directions in which changes are heading, and the mechanisms needed to "cope" with a reality radically different from the one we have functioned in for at least fifty years, with a better or worse balance of loss and profit. A high degree of uncertainty as to the directions of changes and the principles that will dominate thinking about security and stability, and international order, in this uncertain, undefined reality invites questions about the design of the global order, and the dilemmas that must be resolved for such an order to ensure robust "support" for the European order. There is no such design, nor is there a vision of the European order which would reflect the "relevant" expectations, dreams and arguments of other regions of the world, their inhabitants, and political elites. At present, a "European order" appears to be an oxymoron, something along the lines of "a disorderly European order", "a chaotic order" or, a little more optimistically, "a state before ordering the elements of the world," a vehicle of the solutions addressed to the interior of Europe and its "dubious" coherence rather than to the international system. The author presents a narrative based on the assumption that Europe does not have such a vision. What is more, the continent appears to be "suspended between a past it seeks to overcome and a future it has not yet defined" (Kissinger, 2016, s. 95). In order to move on, Europeans have to answer the timeless question of how much unity is required and how much cultural and civilizational variety is the international community (and the governments) able to accept (tolerate) in order for the agreement that will ensure peace for centuries to become more than ephemeral? A significant element of this narrative involves an attempt at arranging such concepts as "order," "orderliness" and "chaos," which are semantically vague, and therefore ambiguous. This is an important analytical measure, because clarifying the notions which are of key importance for these considerations concretizes the object of research, the content of investigated phenomena and their functions.
