Résumé Dans la littérature économique des xix e et xx e siècles, la concurrence parfaite repose sur deux types de fondements essentiellement, qui n'ont pas toujours été distingués avec suffisamment de force. Selon le premier type, la concurrence parfaite prévaut quand les agents, petits par rapport au marché, sont dénués de tout pouvoir d'influencer leurs environnements, que ce soit dans un contexte coopératif ou dans un contexte non-coopératif. Selon le second, la concurrence parfaite résulte d'une conduite normale des agents indépendamment de leur taille, pacifique – tenant les prix de marché comme donnés – ou au contraire agressive – consistant à casser les prix des concurrents. L'article passe en revue et compare brièvement ces différentes catégories de fondements. JEL classification: B13, D41, D43

Cet article vise à offrir un panorama des théories de la concurrence imparfaite qui l'abordent du point de vue de la microéconomie. Cette présentation s'articule autour des quatre thèmes principaux qui caractérisent la concurrence imparfaite : la collusion, la différentiation des produits, les barrières à l'entrée et l'information imparfaite. Une section est aussi consacrée à la théorie de la concurrence imparfaite en équilibre général.

Mais grandes sont la résilience comme la plasticité de la « forme institutionnelle » concours, dont la pérennité est avérée, même si des menaces existent sur l'avenir du concours.

In the early 1990s, Cameroon - like other sub-Saharan African countries - opened up to democratisation. In addition to the formation of some one hundred political parties, associations based on ethnic or regional identity mushroomed. Generally speaking, the elite & politicians peacefully mobilise parochial solidarities with the aim of maintaining their positions in the state, or of entering the state apparatus through ethnic votes - this is why the size of ethnic groups are an important factor in the rivalries between politicians. However, in Logone & Chari districts, situated in the border area between Cameroon, Nigeria, & Chad, the rivalry opposing the Kotoko to Shoa Arabs manifested itself in the form of interethnic violence. Demography played an important role in these conflicts, as it permitted Shoa Arabs to reverse the political majority. The Kotoko were the first inhabitants of the region, & had hitherto controlled traditional as well as modern power structures. In respect of the controversy over the population sizes of the two communities, this paper goes back in history to examine the role of epidemics & immigration in the numerical relationship between the two peoples. The manipulation of censuses, the relativity of ethnic differences, & new dimensions in the politics of ethnicity in North Cameroon are also considered.

L'économiste italien Enrico Barone (1859-1924) est principalement connu pour ses contributions à la théorie de la productivité marginale et au débat sur la planification socialiste. Ce papier analyse les contributions de Barone à la théorie de la concurrence parfaite, contributions largement ignorées dans la littérature secondaire. Il inclut sa méthodologie; la définition, les conditions et les conséquences de la concurrence parfaite; son contexte institutionnel; et le processus d'ajustement. Il contient également certains graphiques de Barone qui illustrent le fonctionnement de la concurrence parfaite. Le papier démontre que Barone mérite une place dans l'histoire de la théorie de la concurrence parfaite.

Dans un modèle simple de différenciation horizontale avec libre entrée (l'entrée se décidant à une étape préliminaire), on montre qu'une concurrence "forte" au sens de Bertrand peut être associée à structure industrielle plus concentrée et à un bien-être collectif moins élevé qu'une concurrence "raisonnable" au sens de Cournot.

Concurrence Fiscale, Ville et Commerce Cet article présente un modèle de la Nouvelle Economie Géographique qui intègre coût de navette et rente foncière. L'introduction de ces éléments dispersifs, importés de l'économie urbaine, permet d'observer qu'un accroissement de l'intégration commerciale entraîne une dispersion des activités. Deux résultats majeurs sont mis en avant, premièrement nous observons que l'équilibre de dispersion est Pareto dominant par rapport à l'équilibre aggloméré, ce résultat contraste avec les résultats obtenus par ailleurs, deuxièmement la rente d'agglomération qui prend la forme d'une courbe en cloche dans tous les modèles d'économie géographique est ici strictement décroissante. Cette propriété est lourde de conséquence en matière fiscale, nous démontrons tout d'abord que seule une course vers le bas des taux d'imposition est alors envisageable (lorsque le commerce est libéralisé où lorsque les coûts urbains augmentent) puis qu'une politique d'harmonisation fiscale allant dans le sens d'une taxe plancher pour les pays périphériques tend à ne plus être Pareto optimale. Enfin deux extensions sont réalisées en vue de montrer que le comportement de moins disant fiscal observé dans le cas d'une agglomeration totale est vérifié i) lorsque l'agglomeration est partielle ii) lorsque l'on utilise un modèle à plusieurs régions.

As a result of this, tax benefits are provided fortaxpayers because the tax competition between States leads to a race to the bottom.However, in order to reduce the amount of tax, some economic operators cheat and breach the nationaltax regimes. And so, the harmful tax competition is born. The European Union (EU), the Organisationfor Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) and the States fight the latter fact.It is important to devise solutions that minimise harmful tax competition and remove the in-built biastowards taxation of less mobile basis, especially because the context is changing due to the health crisisand the development of the digital economy. Even though the tax harmonisation fails, somecoordination measures could be used to regulate the tax competition between States. Loyalty is the keyterm.The quest for a loyal tax competition between States is not a matter of government finances at least inbalance. It's a major challenge to the durability of tax and social systems of each country.Although the concept of the tax competition between States is based on economic doctrines, thisapproach is now obsolete.
