It is generally accepted that the final section of Brunetto Latini's Li Livres dou Tresor, known as his Politica, is largely based upon Giovanni da Viterbo's De regimine civitatum. Notwithstanding this agreement on the derivative relationship between both texts, Latini's Politica continues to puzzle scholars. Based upon a historically informed textual comparison and analysis this article argues that the amount of intervention by Brunetto Latini – and its coherence in direction – is highly instructive on the originality of Latini's rewriting and indicative of its purpose. Finally, this article sheds light on the historical factors underlying Latini's decision to select Giovanni da Viterbo's manual as his copy-text.

The current Italian regulation defines quite precisely the concept of "copy" and "duplicate" of a digital document however it does not clearly define the concept of "original document". This causes problems in all those contexts in which it is necessary to exhibit the "original" as evidence as in the case of interceptions in criminal trials. A starting point for opening studies could be a look to the legislations on this subject in other countries.
This article intends to follow up on the activities promoted by the Department of History, Cultures, Religions in 2017, in order to celebrate the 150 th anniversary of the Geneva congress, with specific reference to the conference held in Brussels at the European Parliament on November 21 st in the same year. Therefore, it is proposed a commented selection of archive sources of the Central Museum of the Risorgimento in Rome, related to the Peace Geneva Congress of September 1867. To these sources we added documents number 10 and 12, coming from other archives, as indicated below. Among the various papers selected also appears the original copy in French of Garibaldi's speech (Resumè) pronounced in Geneva, as well as the famous letter from Genestrelle, in which the General answered to the slanders of his detractors after leaving Geneva on 11 th September, while the Congress was still in progress
Nowadays, more than ever, digital forensics activities are involved in any criminal, civil or military investigation and represent a fundamental tool to support cyber-security. Investigators use a variety of techniques and proprietary software forensic applications to examine the copy of digital devices, searching hidden, deleted, encrypted, or damaged files or folders. Any evidence found is carefully analysed and documented in a "finding report" in preparation for legal proceedings that involve discovery, depositions, or actual litigation. The aim is to discover and analyse patterns of fraudulent activities. In this work, a new methodology is proposed to support investigators during the analysis process, correlating evidences found through different forensic tools. The methodology was implemented through a system able to add semantic assertion to data generated by forensics tools during extraction processes. These assertions enable more effective access to relevant information and enhanced retrieval and reasoning capabilities.

The essay provides all available data useful for the discovering of an up-to-now lost text by Paolo Paruta (Venice, 1540-1598), the Risposta [Reply] to Lettera XXX by Pseudo-Dante, a fake letter published in 1547 by Florentine Anton Francesco Doni, in order to arouse a bitter anti-Venetian controversy. New evidence shows that one copy of Paruta's Risposta lay in Gian Vincenzo Pinelli library (located in Padua). In fact, Paruta and Pinelli shared a lot of interests and friends in the middle and late 16th century Padua and Venice.

The serpentine column of Istanbul is recognized as one of the oldest artifacts that have been described in historical sources. It is a monolithic fusion in bronze high about six / eight meters representing three snakes twisted together. It was translated by the Emperor Constantine from Delphi to Constantinople in 324 AD and placed in his glory in the plug in the circus. It is still visible in the same place where Constantine placed it, despite filling the stadium, the looting of the fourth crusade, the conquest of Muhammad II, the numerous wars and various periods of foreign domination, and mutilation of the heads of snakes. It is thought that what the column has undergone over the centuries altered the initial functionality making it an object now only statically exposed. This study proposes a model to search of the lost functionality of the column standing in Delphi, on the access ramp to the sacred area, as a wonderful machine to intimidate and to bless. After a brief reminder of the history of the column and its iconography, from the analysis of the base stones, the size of the internal cavities, the shape of the remaining head, argue choices follow the design and the construction of the proposed model. This study would like also to move the international interest to sprone the local government to find a place in a museum for the column, now extensively cracked, replacing it the field by a copy.
Giuseppe Damiani Almeyda is among the most important designers, architects, engineers and designers at the end of '800. He has participated in numerous architectural competitions, both at Palermo in Sicily and again in Italy. He has conducted numerous studies on the identification of significant types of construction from coffee house to the shrines cemeteries, the decorative detail to the urban study on a large scale. Of course He is remembered in our city, especially as the designer of the Politeama, an imposing structure that dominates the central square of Palermo. Very old city, whose roots, evidenced by the presence dating back to the Punic, have never found a break until the present day, offering a repertoire of great architectural prestige and international reputation. Moreover, capital, enjoys a privilege that few other cities can boast: it has two of the most important theaters in the history of Architecture: the Politeama and the Teatro Massimo. And our dear Almeyda participated in both competitions, winning one and losing the second. But what were the real reasons why he did not win the second project? Perhaps the town is terrified of being left with a certified copy of the already made Politeama? Or, participation in the race by Giovan Battista Filippo Basile unquestionably compromised the expert advice? Or perhaps, again, the second project did not meet in style, beauty and greatness, the grandeur of the former? These and more are the questions we have approached the study of two extraordinary projects proposed architectural competitions with only one signature, but hides itself, strange stylistic mechanisms but also social, historical, political.
From the late Sixties on, industrial development in Italy evolved through the spread of small and medium sized firms, aggregated in district networks, with an elevated propensity to enterprise and the marked presence of owner-families. Installed within the local systems, the industrial districts tended to simulate large-scale industry exploiting lower costs generated by factors that were not only economic. The districts are characterised in terms of territorial location (above all the thriving areas of the North-east and Centre) and sector, since they are concentrated in the "4 As" (clothing-fashion, home-decor, agri-foodstuffs, automation-mechanics), with some overlapping with "Made in Italy". How can this model be assessed? This is the crucial question in the debate on the condition and prospects of the Italian productive system between the supporters of its capacity to adapt and the critics of economic dwarfism. A dispassionate judgement suggests that the prospects of "small is beautiful" have been superseded, but that the "declinist" view, that sees only the dangers of globalisation and the IT revolution for our SMEs is risky. The concept of irreversible crisis that prevails at present is limiting, both because it is not easy either to "invent", or to copy, a model of industrialisation, and because there is space for a strategic repositioning of the district enterprises. The book develops considerations in this direction, showing how an evolution of the district model is possible, focusing on: gains in productivity, scope economies (through diversification and expansion of the range of products), flexibility of organisation, capacity to meld tradition and innovation aiming at product quality, dimensional growth of the enterprises, new forms of financing, active presence on the international markets and valorisation of the resources of the territory. It is hence necessary to reactivate the behavioural functions of the entrepreneurs.
A ghost roams the modern world: "the ghost of the ego" With this sentence, Friedrich Nietzsche offers a diagnosis of the modern self that finds the royal road to the unconscious in mass imitation. In the footsteps of Nietzsche, modernist authors such as Joseph Conrad, DH Lawrence, Georges Bataille - read in dialogue with human sciences such as anthropology and psychoanalysis, research on hypnosis and mass psychology - question themselves about reflected mimetic phenomena that do not they are under the rational control of consciousness and are, in this sense, in-conscious. From identification to affective contagion, passing through sympathy and laughter, violence and magic, hypnosis and suggestion, the mimetic unconscious reveals how modernist authors make our concept of "I" new because they anticipate recent developments in neuroscience. They also offer us an out-of-date mirror to reflect critically on the becoming of our "I" as well as on the power of authoritarian leaders - past and present - to transform the mass subject into a copy or a "ghost of the ego".
