This article discusses some of the new directions taken by cultural history nowadays, with particular focus on the works by scholars using a global perspective. It argues that this choice of a global perspective raises several problems, especially the apparent contradictions between the traditional micro-approaches, typical of cultural history, and the macro ones often used in economic or political analyses. The question is how to deal with individuals from a global perspective. Based on reflections by Peter Burke and Natalie Zemon Davis, among others, the essay shows that this concern is an important issue today, in an increasingly interconnected era, and that it responds to our cultural and intellectual needs, enriching and relativizing our perspectives. Moreover, the text also considers that global history is an emerging field that can be practiced in several ways that include micro- perspectives, as in the so called global biographies or the global microhistory. In fact, these studies present examples of intense cultural encounters in the past, focusing on the different types of individual intermediaries that made it possible, experimenting with stories of individual lives in global contexts, connecting communities and the outside world, juxtaposing micro and macro perspectives. In other words, the life of a single individual may serve to understand the connections across cultures and groups from the perspective of the actors involved.

Le carnet de recherche Hypothèses (en construction) reprend le mémoire d'HDR : https://depuislestalag11a.hypotheses.org/ ; This Habilitation to Conduct Research is divided into two main parts.L'hétérotopie du topinambour. Confidences d'un faux baby-boomer, coming from ego-history, goes back over the career of the author, a "fourth generation" sports historian, connected to a school of meaning and experience and enamelled with artistic experiences. This essay proposes to decipher the successive processes, punctuated by encounters, woven from readings and epistemological research, allowing us to characterize his place as a historian in a field that is largely constituted. In so doing, this first part, resolutely epistemological, takes an interest in subjectivity, if only to apprehend, understand and shed light on the personal involvement of researchers in theirobjects of study, the focal points they favor, or the life experiences that interfere with their way of making history.Pour une biographie que nous n'avons pas écrite, Roger Lemonnier : jardinier, militaire et prisonnier de guerre (1911-1995), is part of the biographical narrative. This unpublished work lays the foundations of a project that will go beyond the few chapters presented in this dissertation. While the biographer, grandson of the biographer, tries to keep the right distance essential to the historical process, he is at the same time confronted with incomplete primary sources: a captivity notebook, a 26-minute film documentary and some administrative documents. So, isit possible to write this biography? This is the question at the heart of the three constituent parts of this novel. Each of them is part of the overall research project. The narrative itself is only the result of a reflection on the writing of history with the intention of immersing the reader jointly in the life story and the mysteries of a historical investigation. This project, inspired by the work of François Dosse and Alain Corbin, considers, in the tradition of I. Jablonka, history as a "contemporary literature" whose mission is to share the sensible. In order to ensure the reader's immersion, the narrative summons up writing inducers to serve as a demonstration of some aspect of the biographer's life, his feelings or the emotions of a prisoner who writes to escape imprisonment but re-actualizes the social, political and professional constraints and frustrations that his body has experienced.

In an adverse context for freedom of thought in the so called public sphere, and from the perspective of the history of present time, this study explores the sense that is supposed to have in Latin America one of the "recent disasters" as was the attack against the satirical newspaper Charlie Hebdo in France. Political caricature appears to be the expression of a traumatic experience and a shared political culture through both republican and democratic practices. However, on a continent democratized but still grappling with memory and the traumatic past of dictatorships, this imaginary is also strongly questioned by authoritarian ideological options. A figure hovers in both positions (democratic and authoritarian as well) and impacts on related imaginary: the victims figure, which within this relationship to the past or regime of historicity, not only replace "the era of witnesses" exemplified by the history of present time but also are integrated into an instrumentalized regime of emotions finally leading to a skewed view of history.

; The political violence dynamics in Colombia is strongly charged with alterity, construction of "other radicals", people that represent the opposite, the malignant, the subversive, the dangerous, the repressive, etc. It is through this burden that the conceptual construction of the enemy is achieved. In this sense, we pretend to recognize the alterity representations built upon the others through their referential paradigms, that is, based on their discourses of "normality-truth". This way, one can identify who and how he/she represents otherness, and how this otherness, made radical alterity, justifies the violence against him/her. Thus, one can construct a cultural history of the violence in Colombia by means of press material (that is politically biased due to a bipartisan political culture) and from the construction of the enemy (the other) as a radical alterity. The construction of the representations from the press media offers the founding element of this work. Therefore, we offer a periodization that allows us to recognize the categories elaborated upon a fundamental factor of violence in Colombia, which is the guerrilla phenomenon from (1964 to 1984).

The constituent act of contemporary cultural history was a blurring with the epistemological and methodological presuppositions of economic and social history. The new field of historiography, breaking with 'historical tradition', was based on the new 'materialism' and the theory of representation. An alarming and alarming issue is needed: to what extent are the conceptualisations and methodologies of contemporary history only new costumes for old history commitments? Does new materialism not disguise historians' old practice of gathering 'facts'? Does the representation theory not disguise the idea of mentalities? If the answer is affirmative, a new question should be asked: Are the great struggles in history not forgotten strategies that try to erase the memory of recent historiography and its cognitive effects?

Summary: In this article, I analyse two religious proceedings in 1914: one led by Archbishop José Mora and the Rio in Mexico City and another led by Archbishop Francisco Orozco and Jiménez in Guadalajara. Catholics participated in both proceedings differently: in Mexico City, Mora and Rio appealed to the rules of the civil government with regard to public worship; in Guadalajara, when the civil authorities banned the process, Orozco and Jiménez challenged them. I review two alternative political readings of the two proceedings and consider them as 'documents', in the broadest sense of the term. To do so, I rely on archive sources and the press of the time.

; The article deals with a comparative cultural history of the Cold War in the Caribbean, of the gestation of the cultural apparatuses of Cuba and Venezuela, where two emerging political-cultural processes coincide after the fall, almost simultaneously, of their two dictatorships, by what both countries demand a new cultural paradigm; Despite the fact that a democracy is born in Venezuela and a revolution in Cuba, the cultural aspects of the two systems will be of the revolutionary left, however, in Cuba the cultural apparatus germinated since the revolution to stagnate it in the preservation of the party regime, and In Venezuela it was born from the established power but it was given to intellectuals, artists and ...

The study of the work of the Chilean Jesuit Juan Ignacio Molina (1740-1829), especially since the Chilean historiography, has accused an important criticism myopia about of the naturalist that constantly has been considered, with fairly light weight, as the "first Chilean scientist". The fundamental importance of exile as a scientific vocation, the European controversies about the New World and the institutional conditions and political mechanisms that allowed the development of scientific knowledge in late eighteenth century are elements that have not been integrated into the analysis of the work of the naturalist Chilean who came to integrate the Bologna Academy of Sciences. Therefore, the proposed historical analysis of this article seeks to break the apologetic historiography in order to present the work and figure of the Chilean Jesuit in a broad historical context, in an attempt to provide alternative answers, shows part of the political and epistemological problems that influenced the development of scientific thought of the Chilean naturalist.
