Kultūra ir religiniai uždaviniai globalizuotame pasaulyje ; Culture and religious objectives in a globalised world
The aim of the article is to identify the main objectives that arise for religions under conditions of globalisation, as well as the conceptual approach that is necessary for their analysis. The theoretical perspective that has been selected is the concept of "work that has been advanced by soul" that unifies religion and culture. Culture is analysed through the prism of the concepts of social communication and individual personification; meanwhile, religion is approached through the concept of the relationship with the absolute or infinity by highlighting both their mutual autonomy and their overlap. Nowadays, the conditions for both cultural life and religious life are undergoing radical transformations because of the process of globalisation. In this article, globalisation is defined as the increasing global interdependence of societies that is being driven by technology. The paradoxical nature of this process is noted: on the one hand, it poses a threat to the very cultural and religious identity of a person, but on the other hand, it creates conditions for a more intense interconnectedness of cultures and religions, and a new stage for the maturity (deepening) of this identity. In this context, the main objectives are being reformulated; these objectives arise out of the necessity to articulate changed modalities of the relationship with the absolute and spiritual movements of new types under conditions of globalisation: making sense of technology, obtaining a new concept of authority, transformation of the relationships between religion and politics, universal ecumenism, rethinking the concept of truth, the search for a universal language, and the revival of a mystical stance.

Kultūra ir politika Singapūro kraštovaizdžio architektūroje ; Culture and politics in singapore's landscape architecture
Master Thesis is focused on the culture and politics in Singapore's landscape architecture. The aim of the work is to analyze how Singapore's landscape architecture is presented in the photographs on the official website of the Singapore Tourism Board. Tasks of the work: to present the framework of semiotic and cultural geography theories; to discuss the political and ideological context in which Singapore's landscape architecture is being shaped; to form the analytical tool by using the examples of the methodology of semiotic analysis and the principles of cultural geography; to carry out a detailed analysis of the landscape architecture depicted in the photographs; to provide analytical results that will detail the representation of the culture and politics through the landscape architecture. With the help of synthesis of two sets of cultural research tools (semiotics and cultural geography), a unique instrument of analysis has been developed, which has proven that landscape architecture in Singapore can be regarded as representational material emphasizing the specific cultural and political aspects of the country, as it is formed on the basis of the strategic measures being implemented by the government. The analysis has shown how landscape architectural objects work by transmitting encoded systems of meanings that not only provide information about the location, but also culturally and politically mobilize the society using these objects. The Master thesis and the created semiotic analysis tool for landscape architecture could be useful to researchers in architecture and communication, who are planning to carry out a semiotic analysis of landscape architecture, as well as for scholars of Transcultural studies of Asia interested in Singapore cultural research.

Lithuanian diplomatic culture: sketching a heroic diplomacy ; Lietuvos diplomatinė kultūra: herojiškos diplomatijos eskizas
This article studies the contemporary Lithuanian diplomatic culture: the daily practices of the Lithuanian diplomatic service as a "community of practice," influencing experiences, ideas, norms, and values, as well as the meanings that diplomats assign to the international environment and their own mission. The analysis is based on theoretical and methodological tools, borrowed from diplomatic studies and the sociology of practices, and draws upon thirty-six semi-structured qualitative interviews with the Lithuanian diplomats and politicians, as well as other primary and secondary sources. The article concludes that the Lithuanian diplomatic culture is marked with heroic scenarios, which seek not so much a steady, thought-out and long-term integration of Lithuania into a peaceful regional and global co-existence, but rather visible, immediately effective actions which put Lithuania, its leaders and diplomats in a spotlight. These scenarios are sustained by the previous successful experience of such practices, as well as the relative politization and fragmentation of the diplomatic service. Such diplomacy is more one-sided and concentrated more on the demonstration of one's own national interest than on a multifaceted international dialogue which would aim to connect different states into one stable international community.

Politinė Stasio Šalkauskio kultūros filosofijos prasmė ; Political meaning of Stasys Šalkauskis' philosophy of culture
The philosophy of culture put forward by Šalkauskis is a version of political philosophy. By using a typology of the relationship between philosophy and democracy we attempt to prove that his philosophy of culture encompasses not one but few different understandings of the relationship between democracy and philosophy. By comparing the ideas of Šalkauskis with the issues of contemporary political philosophy we can see that democracy today is developing by distancing itself from the principles that Šalkauskis presented in his philosophy of culture. The philosophy of culture as developed by Šalkauskis has two distinctive features. First of all, Christianity is interpreted through the matrix of culture and this is why it becomes compatible with democracy. Secondly, philosophy of culture is consciously transformed into ideology and this transformation is what allowed it to become an important factor in political discussions.

Revoliucinės kultūros eksperimentas Lietuvoje (1927-1935 m.) ; Revolutionary culture experiment in Lithuania (1927-1935)
The "Trečias frontas" journal (1930-1931) and its group have a wide historiographical layer. Nevertheless, there is a possibility to recreate wider context of the group's activities and analyse this in the connection with activities of some artists and theatre actors. Therefore, this phenomenon could be named as the "experiment of revolutionary culture" and dated between 1927 and 1935. About twenty persons became the object of this research. Reconstruction of group members' biographies in comparative mode reveals close personal ties and communication networks which affected political-social visions and were the core of complex public activities. Majority of the group members' tried to become communist fellow-travellers. The corpus of Lithuanian Communist party leadership has had diverse attitudes towards these attempts and that initiated internal conflicts. Nevertheless, prevailed negative position and attempts failed. Minority of these revolutionary culture sympathizers became nonmarxist socialism supporters and their activities were especially difficult because of emigration and imprisonments. Existing historiography emphasizes these group members' connections with communists. The perspective of this research is more about the difficult path of going left. Untapped archival material and its abundance enabled to enrich the existing historical narrative with new facts, characters, wider contexts, different perspectives and fresh analysis of their activities.
