This study set out to characterize the communicative treatment of the official organ of the Communist Party of Cuba, Granma, to the social unrest of 2011 in Egypt and Libya. Based on the content analysis of 104 papers, including articles by politician Fidel Castro Ruz, the treatment of the Egyptian and Libyan movements was compared. According to the newspaper, the fight against the circles of power in both countries did not enjoy the same authenticity: the cause of the Egyptian people against a right-wing government (an ally of the United States and Israel) was just; in Libya, the protest movement was subverted. The issue was deliberately worked from a hierarchy of the news, with a strong emphasis on the conflict, the violent nature of the confrontations, and the resulting political rearrangements. ; Este estudio se propuso caracterizar el tratamiento comunicativo del órgano oficial del Partido Comunista de Cuba, Granma, a las revueltas sociales de 2011 en Egipto y Libia. A partir del análisis de contenido de 104 trabajos, dentro de los que se incluyeron los artículos del político cubano Fidel Castro Ruz, se comparó el tratamiento a los movimientos egipcio y libio. Según el diario mencionado, la lucha contra los círculos de poder en uno y otro país no gozó de igual autenticidad: si bien la causa del pueblo egipcio contra un gobierno de derecha, aliado de los Estados Unidos e Israel fue justa; en Libia, el movimiento contestatario estuvo subvertido. El tema se trabajó intencionadamente desde una jerarquización de la noticia, con fuerte énfasis en el conflicto, el carácter violento de los enfrentamientos y los reacomodos políticos resultantes.

Compara-se a informação geográfica representada nos relevos militares de Seti I, em Karnak, com a geomorfologia do norte do Sinai para elucidar as práticas iconográficas do Reino Novo e discutir a homologação recorrente na bibliografia dos assentamentos arqueológicos localizados na área com as fortalezas mencionadas naquele monumento. Para isso, procedeu-se à análise do registro epigráfico e das unidades geomorfológicas a partir de imagens de satélite, o que permitiu: precisar o sentido das cenas; estabelecer com precisão quais foram os terrenos disponíveis durante o Reino Novo em um ambiente altamente dinâmico: e discutir o papel dos assentamentos de fronteira. ; Geographic information represented in the Seti I´s Karnak military relief is compared with the gemorphology of northern Sinai, in order to elucidate the New Kingdom iconographic practices and to discuss the recurrent homologation in the bibliography of the archaeological settlements located in the area, with the fortresses mentioned in those monuments. Within Egyptian political history, the role played by the Muslim Brotherhood since 1928, the year of its founding by Hassan al Banna, stands out. In 2012, a year after the so-called Arab Spring, with a history of dictatorship and repression that have altered the social balance of the most populous country in the area, Egypt held its first democratic elections, won by Mohamed Mursi, leader of the Party Freedom and Justice and political arm of the Muslim Brotherhood. A goverment that lasted just a year, until july 3, 2013, overthrown by the coup détat of al Sisi, Mursi´s Defense MInister. This text analyzes what that political year of the Muslim Brotherhood goverment was like and the causes that led it its downfall. ; Dentro de la historia política egipcia, destaca el papel jugado por los Hermanos Musulmanes desde 1928, año de su fundación por Hassan al Banna. En 2012, un año después de la llamada "Primavera Árabe", con una historia de dictaduras y represión que han alterado el equilibrio social del país más poblado de la zona, Egipto celebra sus primeras elecciones democráticas, ganadas por Mohamed Mursi, líder del Partido Libertad y Justicia y brazo político de la hermandad de los Hermanos Musulmanes. Un gobierno que duró apenas un año, hasta el 3 de julio de 2013, derrocado por el golpe de Estado de al Sisi, Ministro de Defensa de Mursi. El presente texto analiza cómo fue ese año político de gobierno de los Hermanos Musulmanes y las causas que llevaron a su caída.

La presente investigación, tiene como finalidad analizar la influencia de la Primavera Árabe en la visibilización del activismo feminista en Egipto. Desde el inicio de su mandato, una de las prioridades del presidente Abdel Fattah El Sisi fue la reconfiguración de las relaciones del poder religioso en Egipto, un pilar sobre el que se asienta la legitimidad del régimen. No obstante, sus intentos de restar poder a la institución de al-Azhar por medio del ministerio de Awqāf o Asuntos Religiosos se enfrentaron a la tenaz resistencia de al-Azhar, en un escenario de tensión larvada entre los diversos actores religiosos del estado. En el presente artículo se exponen las líneas maestras que, en el escenario post-Mubarak, configuran la relación entre el estamento religioso de al-Azhar y el estado egipcio con sus diferentes instituciones político-religiosas, analizando en qué medida estas influyen en los sucesos y avatares de la política egipcia contemporánea. ; From the beginning of his mandate, one of the main priorities of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi was the reconfiguration of religious power relations in Egypt, a pillar on which the regime's legitimacy rests. However, his attempts to disempower the institution of al-Azhar through the ministry of Awqāf or Religious Affairs dealt with the tenacious resistance of al-Azhar, in a scenario of latent tension between the various religious actors in the Egyptian State. This article deals with the main lines that, in the post-Mubarak scenario, configure the relationship between the religious establishment of al-Azhar and the Egyptian state, and analyzes to what extent this tense relationship makes its influence felt on the events and vicissitudes of contemporary Egyptian politics.

En el marco de los estudios antropológicos sobre la guerra, la obra de Pierre Clastres es particularmente significativa. Sus enunciados sobre el modo en que opera la guerra en las sociedades no estatales del registro etnográfico permiten reflexionar a la vez sobre cómo dicha práctica contribuye al sostenimiento del statu quo autónomo e indiviso de la comunidad no estatal, y cómo la misma práctica puede en determinadas circunstancias contribuir a instancias radicales de transformación social, como serían la emergencia de liderazgos militares y la constitución de nuevos tipos de lazo social asociables a lo estatal. La utilidad de recurrir a este tipo de enunciados surgidos de los estudios antropológicos para el abordaje de situaciones históricas antiguas, cuyos testimonios provienen mayormente del registro arqueológico, ha sido explicitada por no pocos investigadores. Partiendo de esta premisa, consideramos que el valle del Nilo de los períodos Paleolítico tardío al Dinástico Temprano (c. 20.000-2700 a.C.) ofrece un contexto privilegiado para pensar el problema de la guerra desde una lectura a la vez teórica e histórica, en la medida en que permite evaluar la incidencia de la guerra tanto en el marco de las comunidades no estatales como en su relación con la emergencia y consolidación de lo estatal en Egipto. ; The work of Pierre Clastres is particularly significant among anthropological studies of war. His statements on warfare in non-state societies based on ethnographic sources emphasize the way war contributes to the maintenance of the autonomy and undivided status of non-state communities. But they also allow us to reflect on how the same practice can contribute, in certain circumstances, to radical social transformations, such as those implied by the emergence of military leaderships or the constitution of new kinds of social links related to the State. Many researchers have highlighted the usefulness of these anthropological approaches to the study of ancient societies whose testimonies come mainly from the archaeological record. In this sense, the Nile Valley from the late Palaeolithic to the Early Dynastic periods (c. 20.000-2700 BC) offers a privileged context to think about war from a historical and theoretical point of view, since it allows us to assess the effects of war in the context of non-state communities as well as its relation to the emergence and consolidation of State dynamics in Egypt. ; Fil: Campagno, Marcelo Pedro. This paper reveals some of the tensions and contradictions that have shaped the evolution of the Mexican tourism industry. The object of study is relevant because of the significant economic contribution of this sector in recent decades has experienced its most significant growth. Unfortunately there has been a growth hesitantly, backwards and very partial benefits. A hypothesis of the essay is that the lack of consistent studies (reflected as a problem of forgetting and trivializing the problems in the sector) on tourism development in Mexico has its counterpart in government decisions that have affected substantially, either in the form of political or misleading in a sector being regulated predominantly by private sectors. ; Este ensayo revela algunas de las tensiones y contradicciones que han modelado la evolución de la industria turística mexicana. El objeto de estudio es relevante por la significativa aportación económica de este sector que durante las últimas décadas ha conocido su más importante crecimiento. Infortunadamente ha sido un crecimiento con titubeos, retrocesos y beneficios muy parciales. Una hipótesis del ensayo es que la falta de estudios consistentes (reflejada como un problema de olvido y trivialización de los problemas del sector) sobre la evolución turística en México tiene su correlato en decisiones gubernamentales que la han afectado sustantivamente, sea bajo la forma de políticas equívocas o en el hecho de ser un sector regulado predominantemente por los sectores privados.

During the 5th and 4th centuries BC, Egypt was a kind of conceptual mirror for the Greeks whenever they should speak of history, science or religion, and this is especially evident regarding the debate about the best form of government. The government of sages or priests, two of the utopian ideas most fi rmly rooted in Greek thought, fi nds a mythical basis in Egypt. This contribution aims to study the speech Busiris, by Isocrates, and its possible relationship with the Platonic projects of the Republic and, especially, the Laws. We will analyze the image of Egypt as an Utopian mirror and the various approaches to the historical and literary context of the relation bewteen Isocrates and Plato, from irony to political-philosophical proposals. ; Durante los siglos V y IV a.C., Egipto, el espejo conceptual en que se miraban los griegos al hablar de historia, ciencia o religión, estuvo muy presente en el debate acerca de la mejor forma de gobierno. El gobierno de los sabios o de los sacerdotes, dos de las ideas utópicas que arraigaron con fuerza en el pensamiento griego, encuentra en Egipto justifi cación mítica. Esta contribución pretende estudiar el discurso Busiris de Isócrates y sus posibles relaciones con los proyectos platónicos de la República y, sobre todo, las Leyes. Se analizará la imagen de Egipto como utopía y sus diversos enfoques en el contexto histórico-literario en torno a Isócrates y Platón, desde la ironía a la propuesta político-fi losófi ca.

The political change that swept Egypt on January 25, 2011, calls into question the predominant analyses of the country While it is difficult to assess and define a social phenomenon that began at the start of the year and continues to evolve, this paper refers to a number of theoretical tools and fieldwork to identify what did not happen and what is not happening in Egypt. This method demonstrates -- by excluding certain scientific definitions and popular theories that do not concur with empirical data subsequent to January 25 -- how it is possible to define, in broad terms, what is happening in Egypt. Resumen: Durante el Tercer Período Intermedio (c. 1069–715 a.C.) dinastías de origen libio gobernaron Egipto, a la vez que jefaturas de ese origen también consolidaron centros de poder regional en el territorio egipcio. Tradicionalmente, las prácticas sociopolíticas ejercidas tanto por los jefes locales como por los reyes de origen libio fueron conceptualizadas por la historiografía como la "anarquía libia", en tanto sinónimo únicamente de ruptura con las propiamente egipcias. Otra interpretación propone que los gobernantes libios ya estaban egipcianizados, producto de su paulatina inserción en las estructuras políticas egipcias. En este sentido, nuestro objetivo consiste en conceptualizar las prácticas introducidas por los libios a partir de una ponderación de las evidencias escritas e iconográficas. A tal fin, en este trabajo identificaremos, por un lado, algunas prácticas político-ceremoniales que sostuvieron los libios en su apropiación de la realeza establecida en Egipto, y por otro, algunas implementadas por los jefes locales libios desde sus centros regionales del Delta. Por cierto, nuestro abordaje presupone la existencia de rupturas, pero también de continuidades y de procesos de acomodación inéditos que, precisamente, le otorgan especificidad histórica a ese período. ; Abstract: During the Third Intermediate Period (c. 1069–715 BC) dynasties of Libyan origin governed Egypt, while chiefdoms of the same origin also consolidated centers of regional power in Egyptian territory. The sociopolitical practices exercised by both the local chiefs and the kings of Libyan origin were traditionally conceptualized by the historiography as the "Libyan Anarchy," i.e. as a synonym for the rupture with the Egyptian practices. Another interpretation suggests that the Libyan lords were already Egyptianized, as a product of their gradual insertion into the Egyptian political structures. In this regard, our aim is to conceptualize those practices introduced by the Libyans through an analysis of the written and iconographic evidence. To this end, in this work we will identify, on the one hand, some political-ceremonial practices performed by the Libyans in their appropriation of the Egyptian kingship, and on the other, some practices implemented by the Libyan local chiefs from their regional centers in the Delta. Certainly, our approach presupposes the existence of ruptures, but also of continuities and unprecedented adjustment processes which, precisely, give historical specificity to that period.
