Offen werden für demokratiepolitische Themen. Politische Bewusstseinsbildung in verpflichtenden Gender-Trainings trotz persönlichen Widerstands ; Becoming open to topics in democracy. Raising political awareness in mandatory gender training despite personal opposition
(DIPF/Orig.) ; How can openness be achieved in seminars on gender competence if the participants did not freely decide to attend and thus react with indifference or reluctance? This article describes a didactic approach that manages to eliminate the personal opposition of participants and ultimately raises awareness of the problem of social inequality. Central to this approach is reflection on personal experiences and ideological discussions that usually involve topics related to inequality. The didactic approach presented in gender training, one that reveals competence expectations for leaders in the area of education that are based on gender stereotypes, can also be used for other topics in political education. To promote political awareness of processes of stratification and discrimination, it is important to make it possible to experience the process of exclusion in everyday life as well as to recognize who benefits from the exclusion of others, who determines the criteria for exclusion and that different criteria are suitable to this end. Improvisation und Organisation: Muster zur Innovation sozialer Systeme
Formalized work routines and fossilized structures often are unhelpful for operating in and actively shaping complex and dynamic environments. We need a performative, fluent understanding of organization that is no longer entirely based on rational planning: the often hidden experience-based knowledge (tacit knowing) is the foundation of today's necessary »art« of improvisation. The contributions show how implicit and intuitive anticipatory knowledge along with experimental, playful actions provide the basis for innovation and agile learning in organizations and social systems. In the analysis of »organizational patterns« and »musical thinking«, a new understanding of more flexible and agile organizations emerges.
Tauschen, teilen, Erfahrungen sammeln: Das transformative Potential sozial-ökologischer Praxisformen
In: Fourth International Conference on Degrowth for Ecological Sustainability and Social Equity
Regarding strategies for transformation, we examine the transformative potential of socio-ecological projects. "Pioneers of change", i.e. innovative projects that do not stay in niches but shift the play of powers, encourage the degrowth transformation. When and how do such "forms of practice" become powerful instruments of transformation? Following practice theory, we understand practices as typical arrangements of images, skills, and stuff (Shove). Bundled, these arrangements become forms of practice, which are embedded in a dispositif of power (Foucault), linking interpretive patterns with doings and infrastructures. Using urban gardening and free stores as case studies we can show that our sociological approach offers criteria to identify transformative projects. In the medium term, socio-ecological forms of practice like urban gardening, free stores, repair cafés, and food banks can change the play of powers if they become stable parts of everyday routines. For this, experience-based learning, sharing and swapping, a community-based approach (and fun!) are important elements.
Interkulturelles Zusammenleben in Schulen
; Austria has to face the challenges of persistent immigration and social integration of people with different cultural and linguistic backgrounds. The increasing share of children with migrant background creates a series of challenges for the Austrian education system. In our thesis this problem was investigated in three steps: In the first step, we observed the activities of a project which tries to promote intercultural learning in schools by means of workshops based on experiential education-methods. Subsequent to the project week we spoke with teachers about everyday school life with cultural and linguistic diversity and their solution strategies. Children with migrant background have to cope with the complex challenges of social integration into the society and growing up at the same time. Their family values are at times contradistinctive to the values of the majority society. For teachers this becomes visible in cultural conflicts in schools. Linguistic competencies are playing a key role in everyday school life, the value of the mother tongue has been seen different though. The outcomes of these interviews in the schools have been the starting point for the discussions with experts from migration organisations and integration politics. The Austrian integration politics put great expectations in specific assistance to linguistic competencies in German, but the education system as a whole has also to learn how to better deal with diversity. In this regard especially intensive work with parents is seen as very important. The main problem nevertheless seems to be the social and ethnic segregation which reproduces itself through the school attendance constrictions. For pupils with migrant background out of the lower social class this situation becomes a disadvantage. ; Christoph De Marinis ; Victoria Zotter ; Abweichender Titel laut Übersetzung der Verfasserin/des Verfassers ; Zsfassung in dt. und engl.
