; This article represents an overview of the developments in the contemporary Ukrainian womens movement and in womens and gender studies from the perspective of changing public attitudes towards the notion of feminism which has been discredited in Soviet times. It identifies four stages and examines major issues in the process of institutionalizing of feminism and feminist research in the Ukrainian academia. The author traces the progress of feminist activism in Ukraine from mater- nalist and traditionalist women's initiatives in the early 1990s up to radical anarchist womens groups in the 2010s. Peculiarities of interactions between womens NGOs and state institutions are explored against the backdrop of changes in the Ukrainian legislation on gender equality.
The article analyses discussions in modern feminist theory about perspectives for promotion of feminist politics and criticism of neoliberal and anti-gender politics in pandemic situation. In particular, the critical arguments of C. Arruzza, T. Bhattacharya and N. Fraser in their manifesto Feminism for 99% (2019) against liberal feminism and their project of "another feminism" as alternative to the liberal one, which will be focused not on elites but on masses of "real women". The controversial character of the thesis of Manifesto authors is shown: in the situation of a pandemic as a radical rupture of social bonds, an effective argument for international feminist solidarity can be their proposition that all women, regardless of their ethnic, class and racial affiliation, should be united on the basis of their unpaid reproductive and domestic work. The reflections of J. Butler on opportunities of restoring social bonds and resisting the forces of destruction and militarism are analyzed in her book Forces of Nonviolence (2020), in which she develops S. Freud's ideas about the possibility of overcoming the death drive, which in his opinion is the driving force and cause of any war. It is shown that Butler, following Freud, identifies mania as a force capable of overcoming death drive and understands mania as a protest of a living organism against its destruction or self-destruction. The article analyses Butler's thesis about modern feminism, that if uncovering appropriate forms of education, it can develop in human beings a manic aversion to violence and war as means of destroying organic life. In the conclusion, author suggests that it is possible to reconsider feminist criticism of liberal feminism and return to its slogans, while radicalising them.
Lady Gaga as a postmodern cultural icon manipulating with images and symbols has created in her "performances" a kind of new "post"-postmodern feminism, in which she followed the line of feminine anarchists – in politics, arts and culture. "Gaga ideology", which in fact "embraces a void", nowadays is vividly presented across alternative forms of popular culture with the subsequent great impact on the generation of millennials.
The text is an attempt at looking at the art project Brides on Tour from the perspective of the nomadic subjectivity by Rosi Braidotti. The project, in the new context lent by the death of Giuseppina Pasqualino di Marineo, known under as Pippa Bacca, gave rise to diverse commentaries, at the same time becoming a reference point for successive artistic and social endeavours. The article analyses the strategy undertaken by "the brides" as women-artists, the cultural symbols and archetypes used by them, while as a counterweight questions are asked about the faith in unconditioned hospitality in the frames of what Jacques Derrida called "Abraham" tradition as well as about the presence of women in public space. As a result, the project seems to be an artistic performance, which demands including the specific, embodied female experience to be a subject in culture and politics. Its true value is located in the acquired experience; in the exchange that the artists initiate with people encountered on their way; in breaking the borders between art and everyday life. This is quite an alternative model of art and as such is an answer to the feminist demands of Rosi Braidotti.
Ukraine's Euro-civilization choice, which took place as a result of the Revolution of Dignity, posed a number of challenges to Ukrainian society, without adequate answers to which EU accession will remain a ratherdistant prospect for Ukrainians. One of such challenges is the genderization of the social life of Ukrainians, in particular in the field of education, which presupposes, first of all, the formation of a gender-sensitive space for the existence of the country's citizens; mass involvement of Ukrainian women in all spheres of society on an equal footing with men and the creation of equal opportunities for this. The philosophy of this process is to recognize as the greatest value of human capital, existing in the form of two social sexes (gender) - female and male - with different life experiences, differences and personal strategies of self-realization. The article analyzes, among other, the issue of teaching feminist and (or) gender issues in higher educational institutions of modern Ukraine from the standpoint of philosophical and worldview approach. The author aim is to investigate the real state of gender education in Ukrainian higher education institutions, to analyze the existing problems and identify prospects for the development of this process in Ukraine. A group of political science students from the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv was involved in an in-depth survey of the need / no need to teach feminist and gender issues in universities. It was concluded that exist the need of genderization higher education in Ukraine as an integral part of the Euro-integration process.

Review of the monograph T. Vlasova, I. Grabovska, Y. Galytska "The actual gender: the international and Ukrainian context". Kyiv: Millenium, 2018. - 132 p.
The problem of transformation of feminist ideologies, peculiarities of formation of gender discourse in postmodern culture, development of gender practices, peripheries of formation of gender system of Ukrainian society are the most urgent, but not all issues which are professionally, convincingly and interestingly considered by the authors of the monograph. Everyone who reads the text will be forced to conclude that the new principles of gender socialization formed in Western culture, which provoked a change in the gender order of postmodern societies, are now actively penetrating into our culture and establishing it, changing the traditional gender structure of Ukrainian society.

Despite the growing attention of scholars studying the history of Polish women's movement in the 19th and 20th centuries as well as Polish women's lives and their autobiographical writing, there is still a significant number of female activists and authors who – despite their remarkable personality and/or pioneering work – met with little interest. One of those extraordinary women is Józefa Krzyżanowska-Kodis (1865–1940), one of the first Polish women to receive a doctorate in philosophy (from University of Zurich in 1893), a socialist, feminist, and co-founder of the Polish Section of the Women's International League for Peace and Freedom. Although she was unsuccessful in her efforts to obtain a university position in the United States, Józefa Kodis (Kodisowa) was a passionate philosopher, as well as a social activist and publicist. The few scholarly pieces on her focused on her friendship with Carl Hauptmann. By contrast, the author proposes to have a closer look at the memoirs of Józefa and her daughter Zofia Kodis-Freyer and other archival sources in order to present the most important experiences, cultural and interpersonal constellations, and networks that shaped Kodisowa's biography and perspective on female emancipation, female-male relations, social (in)equality, and pacifism.
