Résumé Au cours de l'année 1939-1940, Fernand Laporte est contacté par les Jeunesses communistes au sein desquelles il milite jusqu'à l'été 1942. Ayant perdu le contact avec son organisation, il envisage de rejoindre la France Libre, via l'Espagne. Arrêté par la police franquiste, il se retrouve enfermé au « campo de concentracion de Miranda de Ebro » où il séjourne jusqu'à l'été 1943. Libéré et confié à la Croix-Rouge, il gagne Setubal au Portugal d'où il embarque pour l'Afrique du Nord. Il intègre alors les Forces françaises libres avec lesquelles il participe à la Libération de la Corse en septembre 1943. De retour en Algérie, il subit un entraînement de commando, ce qui lui vaudra d'être parachuté en juillet 1944 sur les maquis de la Drôme où il prend la tête d'un corps franc, puis d'une compagnie de ftp (Francs-tireurs et partisans). En septembre 1944, il est affecté comme instructeur à l'école militaire de cadres d'Uriage (Isère), chargée d'organiser l'amalgame entre les ffi (Forces françaises de l'intérieur) et l'armée de métier. Dans ce cadre, il participe à la campagne d'Alsace. Intégré à l'armée de métier en 1945, il en démissionne en avril 1947.

De nombreux chercheurs en sciences sociales tiennent couramment compte des temporalités dans leurs analyses des mondes sociaux et de leurs territoires. Déjà Marc Bloch décrivait le temps comme « plasma même où baignent les phénomènes et (…) lieu de leur intelligibilité » ; Fernand Braudel pour sa part décrivait le territoire méditerranéen à" travers une construction temporelle qu'il pensait à partir de trois niveaux : celui événementiel de la politique, celui social des mouvements collectifs, celui géographique de la longue durée quasi immuable. En raison de sa transversalité et de son actualité, cette thématique invite à présent au dialogue au sein des sciences de la société, surtout à l'heure où le rétrécissement de la planète semble marquer l'appréhension du monde contemporain du sceau de l' « accélération » des rythmes de ses transformations, où la vitesse semble être devenue la base des utopies contemporaines, visant grâce aux nouvelles technologies du transport et de la communication à contracter les espaces, à dominer le temps Q mouvement perçu par certains comme étant au cœur de nouveaux processus d'exploitation et d'aliénation menaçant les individus. BACKGROUND: Excessive sodium consumption is one of the leading dietary risk factors for non-communicable diseases, including cardiovascular disease (CVD), mediated by high blood pressure. Brazil has implemented voluntary sodium reduction targets with food industries since 2011. This study aimed to analyse the potential health and economic impact of these sodium reduction targets in Brazil from 2013 to 2032. METHODS: We developed a microsimulation of a close-to-reality synthetic population (IMPACT(NCD-BR)) to evaluate the potential health benefits of setting voluntary upper limits for sodium content as part of the Brazilian government strategy. The model estimates CVD deaths and cases prevented or postponed, and disease treatment costs. Model inputs were informed by the 2013 National Health Survey, the 2008–2009 Household Budget Survey, and high-quality meta-analyses, assuming that all individuals were exposed to the policy proportionally to their sodium intake from processed food. Costs included costs of the National Health System on CVD treatment and informal care costs. The primary outcome measures of the model are cardiovascular disease cases and deaths prevented or postponed over 20 years (2013–2032), stratified by age and sex. RESULTS: The study found that the application of the Brazilian voluntary sodium targets for packaged foods between 2013 and 2032 could prevent or postpone approximately 110,000 CVD cases (95% uncertainty intervals (UI): 28,000 to 260,000) among men and 70,000 cases among women (95% UI: 16,000 to 170,000), and also prevent or postpone approximately 2600 CVD deaths (95% UI: − 1000 to 11,000), 55% in men. The policy could also produce a net cost saving of approximately US$ 220 million (95% UI: US$ 54 to 520 million) in medical costs to the Brazilian National Health System for the treatment of CHD and stroke and save approximately US$ 71 million (95% UI: US$ 17 to170 million) in informal costs. The ATLAS experiment at the LHC has measured the production cross section of events with two isolated photons in the final state, in proton-proton collisions at √ s = 7 TeV. The full data set collected in 2011, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 4.9 fb−1 , is used. The amount of background, from hadronic jets and isolated electrons, is estimated with data-driven techniques and subtracted. The total cross section, for two isolated photons with transverse energies above 25 GeV and 22 GeV respectively, in the acceptance of the electromagnetic calorimeter (|η| 0.4, is 44.0 +3.2 −4.2 pb. The differential cross sections as a function of the di-photon invariant mass, transverse momentum, azimuthal separation, and cosine of the polar angle of the largest transverse energy photon in the Collins-Soper di-photon rest frame are also measured. The Luxembourg international financial centre developed considerably during the 1960s, propelled by several factors including concerted government policy, flexible regulation and a willingness to harness opportunities at international level (such as the 1963 US interest equalisation tax and the Bundesbank provisions introduced in 1968 and 1974). The decision to establish various Community institutions (the ECSC High Authority in 1952) and European funding institutions (the European Investment Bank in 1968) in the country also had a decisive impact. The currency union with Belgium (BLEU, 1921) and the absence of a Luxembourg Central Bank made these developments all the more significant. Drawing on archives and oral history sources, this paper aims to illustrate the complexity and originality that characterised the development of the conceptual, political and regulatory context in Luxembourg in the 1960s-1990s, in what can be seen as a sui generis experiment and preparation for EMU. It will explore the changing financial ecosystem in Luxembourg and the collaborative efforts by its main stakeholders (banks, regulatory authorities, individuals, networks) - with a focus on KBL, LuxSE and EIB - to encourage financial and monetary innovation (via the EUA, ECU, and Eurco) before the introduction of the European single currency and to pave the way for the establishment and consolidation of the euro
