The article includes a lengthy memorandum on the eminent German minister at Baghdad, Fritz Grobba. The memorandum was probably written in May 1941 when Grobba returned briefly to Baghdad during Rashid Ali al-Gaylani's rebellion. Written by Emile Marmorstein, who himself was living in the Iraqi capital, the document gives a valuable glimpse of Grobba in the second half of the 1930s and it might be considered to be indispensable for a full view of Grobba's biography.
