This article deals with the Western countries reaction on "Arab Spring" phenomenon (a revolutionary wave of demonstration and protests against the power of country), especially the United States, Germany and France. The selection of countries was based on the following criteria: first of all, the US is a major power in the World and a member of North Atlantic Treaty Organization; secondly, France and Germany are main European players due to European Union membership. Additionally, France maintains good relations with North African countries, while Germany is more neutral and represents economic power within the European continent, which might gain the trust of Arabic World. ; Artykuł został poświęcony reakcji krajów zachodniej części globu na zjawisko "Arabskiej Wiosny" (rewolucyjnej fali demonstracji i protestów przeciwko panującej władzy) na przykładzie Stanów Zjednoczonych, Niemiec i Francji. Wybór państw dokonano w oparciu o następujące kryteria: po pierwsze – USA są mocarstwem globalnym i członkiem Sojuszu Północnoatlantyckiego; po drugie – Francja i Niemcy należą do istotnych graczy europejskich ze względu na przynależność do struktur Unii Europejskiej. Dodatkowo Francja posiada dobre relacje z krajami Afryki Północnej, natomiast Niemcy są bardziej neutralne i stanowią potęgę gospodarczą w obrębie własnego kontynentu, co może budzić zaufanie świata arabskiego.

The article presents the development of the idea of building fast roads in Central and Eastern Europe in the first half of the 20th century. In Europe, until 1945, highways were built in: Germany, the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia, the Netherlands and Italy. In other countries, including Poland, the construction of this type of roads in the interwar period remained only in the planning and project phase. The concept of building highways was implemented by fascist countries, including: Italy (474 km of routes opened) in 1922-1942, Germany (3,896 km) in 1933-1943, and the dependent Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia in 1939-1942 (188 km under construction), mainly to achieve a propaganda effect the agency of the totalitarian system in counteracting unemployment and the planned increase in motorization, which proves the wealth of workers.

Prezentowany artykuł poświęcony został analizie niemieckich wyborów do Parlamentu Europejskiego. Wyniki wyborów do PE w Niemczech nie przyniosły zaskakujących rozstrzygnięć. Zwyciężyły partie chadeckie przed SPD, a na dalszych miejscach znalazły się partie średnie - Sojusz 90/Zieloni i Die Linke. Istotny sukces odniosła eurosceptyczna Alternatywa dla Niemiec (AfD), a druzgocącą klęskę poniosła liberalna FDP. Wyniki wyborów w Niemczech, w przeciwieństwie do wielu krajów europejskich jak Francja i Wielka Brytania, przyniosły sukces partiom zdecydowanie proeuropejskim, które zdobyły ponad 75% poparcia. Oznacza to akceptację zdecydowanej większości Niemców dla dotychczasowego kursu w polityce europejskiej reprezentowanego przez główne siły polityczne. Istotnym novum było zniesienie progu wyborczego, które skutkowało znacznym rozdrobnieniem niemieckiej reprezentacji w Parlamencie Europejskim (14 partii) i pozwoliło siedmiu drobnym partiom na wydelegowanie po jednym przedstawicielu do Parlamentu Europejskiego. Likwidacja progu wyborczego nie wpłynęła jednak na wzrost poparcia dla drobnych ugrupowań. ; The paper is concerned with the analysis of the European elections in Germany. Their results did not bring about any major surprises. The Christian Democrats won, with the Social Democrats coming second, while subsequent places were taken by the mid-sized parties, i.e., the Green Party and Die Linke. The eurosceptic Alternative for Germany (AfD) proved highly successful, while the liberal FDP suffered a crushing defeat. In contrast to many other European countries, such as for instance France or Great Britain, the German elections brought victory to decisively pro-European parties, which gained over 75% of the votes cast. This seems tantamount to the acceptance by a majority of Germans of the present course of European politics taken by the main political forces. One clear innovation in the elections involved the abandonment of the electoral threshold, which resulted in a major fragmentation of German MEPs, who now come from 14 different parties - including seven small parties to place a single representative in the European Parliament. The elimination of the threshold did not result in a change in the overall level of support for small parties, though.
