The English atheist in the 17th century is characterized by a polyphony of meanings. But, how would you say the atheist would be in this period? What is the image of the atheist? What is the criterion for specifying the atheist's modus operandi? How to attribute the legal status of someone who is accused of atheism? These are some questions that this text intends to answer, aiming at mapping the various meanings of what is meant by an atheist in the seventeenth century English, in an attempt to extract a concept.

In the 80s, Latin America experienced the worst economic crisis since the world-wide depression of the 30s. A common link running through this crisis was external indebtedness with the international private banking system. Since then, the region has entered a new phase of abundance of capital inflows, bearing some resemblance to the preceding episode of the 70s.In this paper a review is made of the origins of indebtedness, of the emergence of the crisis in the early 80s, and of the management by creditors and debtors during that decade. Some lessons are derived about the working of international financial markets and policy implications. (Rev Econ Polit/DÜI)

Using newspapers as primary sources, this article presents an innovative analysis of Victor Meirelles' A primeira missa no Brasil (1860). Beyond canonical interpretations of Meirelles' work as an erudite depiction of the beginning of Brazil's history in 1500, the article demonstrates that for viewers of that time the painting also, and above all, represented the beginning of the history of Brazilian art in the 1800s. It demonstrates this by following general art debates in newspapers of the period, specifically in the years before and after the highly anticipated return of the young Meirelles fromhis European sabbatical. Debates in the press illustrate how Meirelles' significance for nineteenth-century audiences in particular, and for Brazilian art history as whole, can only be fully decoded by situating the artist within Brazilian elites' political-intellectual efforts to achieve European-style civilisational progress during the first decades of the post-independence period. ; false

In the field of quantum physics studies, Heisenberg's thought provokes very relevant reflections for an articulation between science and metaphysics, given the importance attributed to the subject in the collapse of the superposition between wave and particle. From an idealistic perspective, the importance given to the subject in the observation of quantum phenomena can be considered a stage of the development of consciousness within the scope of the phenomenology of Hegel's spirit. Quantum physics, under an idealistic perspective, represents a fundamental moment in the recognition and dialectical overcoming of the dualisms produced by the subject himself in his relationship with the world.
; We analyzed pornography in Brazilian printed matter from the great 19th century with the objective of identifying how pornography was taken in its context of production and circulation in pornographic newspapers, starting from the place in which the historian of reading and literature considers appropriation and representation of the discourse of a given time.
