Resumen Este artículo se acerca a una figura, aunque de algún modo principal, un tanto descuidada por la historia de la historiografía en la Argentina y en Latinoamérica: la del cordobés Ramón J. Cárcano (1860-1946). Se está en presencia de un historiador liberal que suelda su intervención intelectual y política con una tradición historiográfica fundada en Buenos Aires, mixturando a su vez esa práctica, por cierto constante y sistemática, en los tiempos e instancias de un derrotero clásico, propio de un miembro destacado de la elite política del reformismo liberal, que ubica a la historia en la médula de su disputa por el poder. El examen propuesto documenta e interpreta el esfuerzo de síntesis historiográfica resuelto por Cárcano, concreción que proyecta el territorio historiográfico al plano de la historia diplomática y política y está dispuesto a indagar, fundamentalmente, las vinculaciones entre Argentina y Brasil durante gran parte del siglo XIX. Asimismo, se busca arribar a la conceptualización que el mismo intelectual efectuara sobre la Historia y sobre su propia labor historiográfica en el contexto argentino con sus respectivos referentes, recuperando luego las voces de sus críticos para acceder al lugar ocupado por el cordobés en distintos planos del panorama intelectual e historiográfico de la Argentina y de Brasil desde finales del siglo XIX hasta casi finalizados los años treinta. Abstract This article approaches a figure, albeit somehow principal, rather overlooked by the history of historiography in Argentina: that of the Cordobese Ramón J. Cárcano (1860-1946). One is in front of a liberal historian that welds his intellectual and political intervention into a historiographic tradition founded in Buenos Aires, mixing simultaneously that practice, incidentally constant and systematic, in the times and moments of a classic course characteristic of an outstanding member of the political elite of liberal reformism, placing history in the heart of the power dispute. The analysis proposed documents and interprets the effort of historiographic synthesis resolved by Cárcano, a realisation that projects the historiographic territory onto the plane of diplomatic and poltical history, and is ready to investigate, fundamentally, the links between Argentina and Brazil during a great part of the 19th century. Likewise, the intention is to arrive at the conceptualisation which the intellectual himself would make about History and his own historiography work in the Argentinian context with its respective references, retrieving later on his critics' voices, to access the position of the Cordobese in the different levels of the intellectual and historiographic panorama in Argentina and Brazil from the end of the 19th century to the late thirties. This article aims to analyze the process of configuration of a historiography of the Peronist left, after 1955, that can be found in the intellectual interventions made by Juan José Hernández Arregui through his historical essays. This article starts by exploring the conditions that affected the process of emergence of this essay and their characteristics. Following, the actions employed by Hernández Arregui to spread and legitimize his conception of the national past and Peronism are analyzed. This article argues that the struggles for the validity of Peronism during the period when this political force was banned were constitutive of the ways that this author tried to address the Argentine past. ; Este trabajo tiene por objeto analizar el proceso de configuración de una historiografía de la izquierda peronista, luego de 1955, observable en las intervenciones intelectuales realizadas por Juan José Hernández Arregui por medio de su ensayística histórica. En primer lugar, se exploran las condiciones de posibilidad que intervinieron en el proceso de emergencia de esa ensayística histórica, así como sus características. En segundo término, se analizan las acciones desplegadas por este intelectual para difundir y legitimar su concepción sobre el pasado nacional y el peronismo. Esta indagación sostiene que las luchas por la vigencia del peronismo durante el periodo en el que esa fuerza política estuvo proscripta fueron constitutivas de las formas que ensayó Hernández Arregui para abordar el pasado argentino.

En este artículo realizo una lectura de la propuesta historiográfica de José Luis Romero y de la "Historia social de la literatura" de Rafael Gutiérrez Girardot, mostrando cómo la primera influye en la segunda, y relacionándolas con el problema de la identidad de América Latina. Se parte de un diagnóstico de la historiografía colombiana del siglo XX y se evidencia la manera como estas dos miradas historiográficas lograron superar las deficiencias de la misma, fundando en nuestro continente una utopía política que aboga por una conciencia de América. ; This paper made a reading of the historiographical proposal of JoséLuis Romero and of the "Social history of literature" by Rafael GutiérrezGirardot, showing how the former influences the latter, and relatingthem to the problem of identity in Latin America. La primera parte del presente estudio analiza el libro publicado recientemente por Immacolata Eramo sobre los Discursos de Guerra (Bari 2010) del retor bizantino Siriano Magister. Esta obra ofrece una cuidada edicion, la primera traduccion realizada del texto en su totalidad y un detallado comentario. En la segunda, a partir de esta publicacion, ofrecemos tambien una reflexion sobre la relacion entre discurso exhortativo y normativa retorica desde la Antiguedad hasta Bizancio con el objetivo de poner de manifiesto la importancia de este tratado de epoca bizantina, cuyo autentico valor solo puede apreciarse si se tiene en cuenta la tradicion historiografica y retorica grecolatinas en las que se inserta la arenga militar. ; The first part of this essay reviews the recent book published by Immacolata Eramo on the War Speeches (Bari 2010) by the Byzantine rhetor Syrianus Magister. This book offers a careful edition, the first full translation ever made of the text and a detailed commentary. In the second part, we also analyse the relation between battle speeches and rhetorical norms from Antiquity to Byzantium in order to show the importance and signification of this Byzantine handbook, whose authentic value can only be appreciated if we consider the Greco-Latin historiographical and rhetorical tradition in which the military harangue is inserted. ; La primera parte del presente estudio analiza el libro publicado recientemente por Immacolata Eramo sobre los "Discursos de Guerra" (Bari 2010) del rétor bizantino Siriano Magister. Under the first crisis of the feudal system and in the context of the cycle of social and political struggles to which it gave rise, the revolt agermanada (1519-1522) took shape. The Valencian historiography turned this revolt into an privileged object of study with renewed contributions of interest, because the event evokes and rediscovers the local identity and autonomy. But not all the aspects that involve the analysis of the conflict have deserved the same attention on the part of the historians, nor have the two stages of the social struggle obtained from then the same evaluation. The present article tries a survey of the specialized historiography around the case, in order to be able to establish a balance of these forms of interpretation, as for the understanding of the second and decisive phase of the revolt, whose importance we postulate for the understanding of the set of the historical process. ; Al amparo de la primera crisis del sistema feudal y en el contexto del ciclo de luchas sociales y políticas a las que dio lugar, cobró cuerpo la revuelta agermanada (1519-1522). La historiografía valenciana convirtió a esta revuelta en objeto de estudio privilegiado con renovadas contribuciones de interés, porque que el acontecimiento evoca y rediscute la identidad y la autonomía local. Pero no todos los aspectos que involucra el análisis del conflicto han merecido la misma atención por parte de los historiadores, ni la misma valoración obtuvieron de ellos las dos etapas de la lucha social. El presente artículo intenta un relevamiento de la historiografía especializada en torno al caso, a fin de poder establecer un balance de estas formas de interpretación, en cuanto a la comprensión de la segunda y decisiva fase de la revuelta, cuya importancia postulamos para la comprensión del conjunto del proceso histórico.

French historiography of the Restoration is marked by some important milestones. It has gradually abandoned militant writing to become a historic object submitted to a critical view. Despite having been for a long time considered as a nearly forgotten period, it has of late aroused a renewed interest which is made evident by the extension of themes, and by the increasing weight of cultural history which penetrates political, social and religious history. However, the economic history, as well as the compared history of the Restorations in Europe still remains embryonic, in spite of some recent initiatives. ; La historiografía francesa sobre la Restauración está marcada por algunos importantes jalones. Poco a poco ha ido escapando de la escritura militante para convertirse en un objeto histórico sometido a una mirada crítica. Aunque durante mucho tiempo fue un período casi abandonado, progresivamente ha ido suscitando mayor interés, algo que puede apreciarse en la ampliación de las temáticas y en el peso creciente de la historia cultural que se infiltra en la historia política, social o religiosa. A pesar de ello, la historia económica o la historia comparada de las Restauraciones en Europa se encuentran todavía en un estado embrionario, a pesar de algunas iniciativas recientemente puestas en marcha.

Poco a poco ha ido escapando de la escritura militante para convertirse en un objeto histórico sometido a una mirada crítica. Aunque durante mucho tiempo fue un período casi abandonado, progresivamente ha ido suscitando mayor interés, algo que puede apreciarse en la ampliación de las temáticas y en el peso creciente de la historia cultural que se infiltra en la historia política, social o religiosa. El objeto de estudio del presente trabajo es el análisis de la historiografía liberal moderada española en el siglo XIX. A partir de aportaciones recientes de destacados historiadores (Pérez Garzón, Suárez Cortina, Fox, entre otros), analizaremos la obra de liberales moderados españoles tales como Modesto Lafuente y el krausista Fernando de Castro, entre otros, pues se convirtieron en los representantes de la historiografía liberal moderada española en el siglo XIX. Pretendemos, en primer lugar, aproximarnos a los intereses sociales, políticos y económicos que tuvieron las nuevas clases dominantes para impulsar una determinada producción historiográfica en el contexto de la creación del Estado-nación liberal español. Entonces, analizaremos cuáles fueron esos discursos predominantes en la historiografía de aquel tiempo. Comprobaremos finalmente nuestra hipótesis, que supone entender que las nuevas élites necesitaron promocionar determinados discursos que proyectaban un Estado-nación centralizado y monárquico en una época en la que se enfrentaban diferentes modelos del mismo. ; The object of study of the present paper is the analysis of the Spanish liberal moderated historiography in the 19th Century. From recent contributions of outstanding historians (Pérez Garzón, Suárez Cortina, Fox, among others), we will analyze the work of the Spanish liberal moderated such as Modesto Lafuente and the krausist Fernando de Castro, among others, since they became the representatives of the Spanish liberal moderated historiography in the 19th Century. We expect, at first, to approximate to the social, political and economic interests that the new dominant classes had to propel a certain historiographic production in the context of the creation of the Spanish liberal State-nation. Then, we will analyze which were those predominant discourses in the historiography of that time. Finally, we will verify our hypothesis, which supposes to understand that the new elites needed to promote determinate discourses that projected a centralized and monarchic State-nation in a time there were confronting different models of it.
