In this contribution we present a dialogue with an important member of the Yaqui Tribe of the Mexican Sonora state: Don Silverio Jaime, the institutional responsible officer of indigenous education for the preservation of the cultural identity. The leitmotiv of the essay, and the purpose of the research, is to study the role that the ancestral culture has in the education of yaquim children and, in general, in the education of the members of the tribe, in contrastingwith the pervasive white culture. The specific interest is to examine in depth theconcept of this unique knowledge and its educational role in the educational policies and in the daily experience of the community.We expect to contribute to valorise the cultural foundations of yaqui, starting by a conscientisation of the perception of yaqui people, and by the changing significance of the ancestral culture in touristic folklore. The epistemological framework refers to an interpretative pedagogy and thus to a hermeneutical approach. The methodological approach is qualitative, and refers to a normative epistemology and a systemic perspective. ; Questo contributo consiste in un dialogo con una autorevole personalità della Tribù Yaqui dello stato messicano del Sonora: Don Silverio che è il responsabile istituzionale dell'educazione indigena per la salvaguardia della sua identità culturale. The paper deals with how Public History and Public History of Education can be applied in secondary schools. Several advantages can be achieved through their presence: firstly, they enhance the role of workshops in studying history; secondly, they increase the motivation in Special Education Needs students. Three project works will be presented as they show how Public History of Education can stimulate interdisciplinarity.

Libraries, through services, activities, professionals and citizens, can be made active places of the dialectic between politics and history, memory and history, local reality and global reality, institutional and personal experience, and past and present, thus educating the society to history and citizenship. A fruitful way is to study and enhance the cultural heritage that the libraries own and the one they have access to, deconstructing it, redefining it and redistributing it in new forms; in this regard, it may be useful to rely on practices and opportunities concerning a public engagement and derived from the disciplinary and civil context of public history. ; Le biblioteche, attraverso i servizi, le attività, i professionisti e i cittadini, si possono fare luoghi attivi della dialettica tra politica e storia, memoria e storia, realtà locale e globale, esperienza istituzionale e personale, passato e presente, educando così il pubblico alla storia e alla cittadinanza. Una strada fruttuosa è quella di studiare e valorizzare il patrimonio che possiedono e a cui hanno accesso, decostruendolo, ridefinendolo e ridistribuendolo in nuove forme; a questo proposito può essere utile appoggiarsi alle pratiche e alle opportunità di public engagement che derivano dal contesto disciplinare e civile della public history.

Il volume qui presentato (Alberto Petrucciani. Libri e libertà: biblioteche e bibliotecari nell'Italia contemporanea) contiene una raccolta di saggi in parte già pubblicati altrove, ed è articolato in tre sezioni. La prima è dedicata a La storia delle biblioteche: perché?come? La seconda entra nel vivo della storia della professione bibliotecaria a partire dalla nascita, nel 1930, dell'Associazione dei bibliotecari italiani (che due anni dopo diventerà Associazione italiana per le biblioteche). La terza infine è dedicata ad alcune personalità del mondo bibliotecario italiano.Petrucciani crede fermamente nella continuità culturale della professione bibliotecaria fin dalle sue origini (che lui colloca nel Risorgimento), tuttavia la sua è una visione fortemente marcata da quella prospettiva risorgimentale ben espressa nel famoso slogan "fatta l'Italia, bisogna fare gli italiani". Si tratta di una visione che presenta, a parere di chi scrive, tratti alquanto utopici, anche se di un'utopia generosa a cui forse non è male far riferimento oggi, in un momento in cui la coscienza nazionale – se mai ve ne è stata una – sembra così smarrita. È vero infatti che la storia (anche bibliotecaria) italiana non è fatta solo di episodi politici umilianti, ma presenta anche una ricchezza culturale che regge a qualsivoglia confronto con il resto del mondo; tuttavia accanto a tanta ricchezza permangono gravi carenze di accesso alla cultura intesa come capacità di interpretazione critica della realtà. Non suonano allora per nulla retoriche (e forse aiutano a capire meglio il significato profondo del titolo) le parole poste a conclusione della nota introduttiva: «Il libro è dedicato ai vecchi e giovani che hanno combattuto e combatteranno quella che è sempre stata la palla al piede del nostro paese, la sua ignoranza e incultura». ; The reviewed book – Alberto Petrucciani's Libri e libertà: biblioteche e bibliotecari nell'Italia contemporanea (Books and freedom: libraries and librarians in contemporary Italy) – includes a number of already published essays along with a few new ones. The first part is about The history of libraries: why? how? while the second part – Moments and problems – gets into the core of the library profession since the foundation, in 1930, of the Associazione dei bibliotecari italiani (Italian librarians' association). Eventually, the third part examines the figures of some historical Italian librarians.Petrucciani believes in a sort of continuity and coherence of the library profession since its birth (that he sets in the age of the Risorgimento) up to this time. Nevertheless – in the reviewer's opinion – this is a rather utopian ideal, although a charitably one now that our national consciousness seems so dismayed. Italian history (even Italian libraries' history) is not only made of discouraging political events, but of unequaled cultural prosperity as well. Still, it is also true that a a distinctive Italian feature is a serious lack of access to culture, interpreted as the ability of understanding reality. That's the reason why the following words don't sound bombastic at all, and perhaps can help us to understand the deep meaning of the title: «This book is dedicated to everyone – old and young – has fought and will fight the everlasting ball and chain of our country: illiteracy and ignorance».

La ricerca analizza il tema della relazione tra storia e narrazione nella letteratura degli ultimi quindici anni in tre contesti nazionali: Italia, Spagna e Portogalo. Per indagare un campo così vasto si sono identificate tre direttrici principali connesse tra loro, coincidenti con tre "crisi": la crisi del rapporto tra letteratura e mercato, la crisi del concetto di verità e la crisi dello stato nazione. Attraverso le riflessioni sul postmoderno (Lyotard, Jameson Hutcheon) e l'analisi di Bourdieu si indaga il rapporto tra mercato e autore letterario, facendo particolare riferimento ai percorsi letterari di Rafael Chirbes, Mia Couto e Wu Ming. Il tema della forma letteraria è invece letto atttraverso le analisi di Hutcheon e analizzando i testi di Helder Macedo (Pedro e Paula), Isaac Rosa (¡Otra maldita novela sobre la guerra civil!) e Tommaso De Lorenzis-Guido Favale (L'aspra stagione). La crisi del concetto di verità viene analizzata alla luce del dibattito sulla storiografia nella seconda metà del Novecento. In particolare si evidenzia la tensione tra Hayden White e Carlo Ginzuburg. Per evidenziare come le relazioni di potere influenzino la narrazione della storia si fa inoltre riferimento alle analisi di Michel Foucault, Michel de Certeau, Stephen Greenbaltt e Gayatri Spivak. Si analizzano quindi Anatomía de un instante, di Javier Cercas, Romanzo criminale, di Giancarlo de Cataldo e As três vidas, di João Tordo. Infine ci si riferisce alla crisi dello stato-nazione individuando una tensione tra le analisi di György Lukács e Franco Moretti, e allargando la riflessione agli studi sociologici di Immanuel Wallerstein e Saskia Sassen. Inoltre, attraverso i testi di Benedict Anderson, Homi B. Bhabha, José Saramao e Eduardo Lourenço si articola una riflessione sull'immaginario politico nazionale. I testi analizzati sono Victus, di Albert Sánchez Piñol, Pro Patria, di Ascanio Celestini e A voz da terra di Miguel Real. ; The research arises from the issue of the relationship between history and narrative in the literature of the last fifteen years in three national contexts: Italy, Spain and Portugal. In order to investigate such a wide-spreading field, three intertwined main guidelines have been identified, coinciding with three "crisis". Through reflections on postmodernism (Lyotard, Jameson Hutcheon) and the analysis of Bourdieu, the relationship between market and literary author has been explored, with particular reference to the literary trail of Rafael Chirbes, Mia Couto and Wu Ming. The theme of the literary form was instead investigated by referring to the analyses of Hutcheon and taking into account the texts by Helder Macedo (Pedro e Paula), Isaac Rosa (¡Otra maldita novela sobre la guerra civil!) and Tommaso De Lorenzis-Guido Favale (L'aspra stagione). The crisis of the concept of truth is evaluated with regard to the debate on historiography. In particular, the tension between Hayden White and Charles Ginzuburg has been highlighted. As to provide a deeper understanding of how power relations influence the narrative of the story, the analyses performed by Michel Foucault, Michel de Certeau, Stephen Greenbaltt and Gayatri Spivak are taken into account. Javier Cercas' Anatomía de un instante, Giancarlo de Cataldo's Romanzo criminale and João Tordo's As três vidas are therefore examinated. Lastly, the crisis of the nation-state is taken into consideration by identifying a tension between the analysis of György Lukács and the ones of Franco Moretti, and widening the reflection to the sociological analysis of Immanuel Wallerstein and Saskia Sassen. In addition, through the texts of Benedict Anderson and Homi Bhabha B., the reflection on the national political imaginary takes shape. The texts analyzed are Victus, by Albert Sánchez Piñol, Pro Patria, by Ascanio Celestini e A voz da terra by Miguel Real.

Given talent is fostered by democracy-driven education that focuses on citizenship,a new conception of educational success emerges. An opportunityis thus given to reason about epistemic virtues: though intellectual, theyare also related to successful citizenship and, as such, affect the developmentof individual talents. All capacitating aspects of epistemic virtues shallbe investigated, especially with the purpose of making it truly feasible tofoster talents from within the frame of educational systems. On top of this,some cultural perspectives are considered, which could play a generativerole in orienting educators and teachers towards a humanist view of talents(hence, Humanism of talent). ; Una nuova concezione di successo formativo, collegata con l'educazionedemocratica dei talenti orientata alla cittadinanza, offre l'occasione per ragionaresulle virtù epistemiche – intellettuali e civiche al contempo – chemaggiormente incidono sulla formazione dei talenti. Virtù epistemichedelle quali vanno approfonditi i processi educativi capacitanti, al fine di rendererealmente realizzabile l'alimentazione dei talenti all'interno dei sistemieducativi. The course of Italian Legal History carried out by Cesare Nani at the University of Turin from 1878 to 1899 can be reconstructed, in method and content, through the notes of the lessons collected by his students and collaborators. This contribution, which aims to present the first results of a research yet to be completed, outlines the main lines of this course and also frames Nani's teaching activity in the context of his time. To this end, it traces the subsequent reforms introduced in university legislation after Italian unification, with specific attention to the provisions concerning the teaching of legal history and the effects that they had on the construction of the identity of the discipline and on the creation of suitable teaching tools.

The evaluation of professionals involved in Adult Education (AE) staff has acrucial role in European policies. Furthermore, the syntagm educationalwork is difficult to define because it concerns a variegated target of usersand an action which is played out in different contexts and for different purposes:the educational work is a complex "object to be evaluated" and theevaluation of the educational work requires different perspectives, methodsand practices. Thanks to EDUEVAL project (an EU project coordinatedby University of Milano-Bicocca, Italy: http://www.edueval.eu/), the AE staffEvaluator have been defined as a professional figure with different competences,having specific multi-functional characteristics to work in differentcontexts. In the study on the profile of the evaluator of AE staff and in designingthe ensuing training model, consideration has been given, on theone hand, to the theoretical framework which considers the specific professionalskills and competences of the evaluator; on the other hand, work wasperformed by recognizing the transversal professional skills and competencesof the evaluator, through consulting and study of the ESCO portal.EDUEVAL results help to fuel debates in matters of the professionalizationof evaluative practice. ; La valutazione dei professionisti che operano nel campo dell'Educazionedegli Adulti (EDA) riveste un ruolo cruciale nelle politiche europee. The Italian Constitution mandates the pursuit of a social defense policy alongside the elimination of inequalities through the promotion and privileged protection of all work activities (artt. 1-4). The law introducing the Cross-curricular teaching of civic education promotes "activities to support the responsible and conscious rapproche-ment of students with the world of work" (art. 4, c. 4). The alternation of school and work (Law no. 107/2015), renamed "pathways for transversal skills and guidance" (PTSO), enables the acquisition of skills that can be de-ployed in the labour market. This article focuses on the usefulness of building PTSOs capable of drawing together typical and a-typical students in collaborative synergy through inclusive teaching aimed at promoting transversal skills – such as the ability to empathize with each other through developing meaningful relationships –and civic education skills – such as education in volunteering and active citizenship – giving meaning and justification to personal life projects. ; La Costituzione italiana impone il perseguimento di una politica di difesa sociale con l'eliminazione delle disu-guaglianze attraverso la promozione e la tutela privilegiata di ogni attività lavorativa (artt. 1-4). The current scientific paths in the pedagogical scope that have encountered linguistics and related areas had some validity in the past, but they should be quickly updated in the face of the constant and unexpected evolutions in which we are immersed, as they are partly outdated. Speaking about languages, it is necessary to work to reduce the artificial separations between humanistic and scientific skills, for a recomposition of knowledge, as a premise of the indispensable recomposition of the person, suspended between the revolt towards new commands and the supine acceptance of the technologies that guide existences. ; Gli attuali percorsi scientifici in ambito pedagogico che hanno incontrato la linguistica e le aree collegate hanno avuto nel passato una certa validità, ma andrebbero rapidamente aggiornati di fronte alle evoluzioni costanti e inattese in cui siamo immersi, in quanto risultano in buona parte superati. Parlando di linguaggi, bisogna operare per ridurre le artificiali separazioni tra competenze umanistiche e scientifiche, per una ricomposizione dei saperi, intesi come premessa della indispensabile ricomposizione della persona, sospesa tra la rivolta verso nuovi comandi e l'accettazione supina delle tecnologie che orientano le esistenze.

Questo contributo rappresenta una sintesi del lavoro di ricerca e patrimonializzazione realizzato in occasione del sessantesimo dalla fondazione dell'Ufficio nazionale minerario per gli idrocarburi e le georisorse (UNMIG) risalente al 1957. In particolare si è voluto evidenziare l'evoluzione istituzionale, tecnologica e il ruolo della cartografia mineraria nello sviluppo delle politiche del settore minerario italiano sulla terraferma e in mare, e presentare una proposta di classificazione. Inizialmente riferita alle materie prime non energetiche e curata dal Servizio Geologico fin dal 1867, la cartografia mineraria italiana si è poi sviluppata, con la nascita dell'UNMIG, in riferimento alle attività di ricerca e coltivazione di idrocarburi liquidi e gassosi e di risorse geotermiche. Si tratta di una cartografia tematica di tipo geo-economico, con forte valenza conoscitiva territoriale ed anche politica. Inoltre, grazie alla digitalizzazione e all'approccio open data ante litteram dell'UNMIG, rappresenta una fondamentale conoscenza per le decisioni geostrategiche, produttive e scientifiche italiane, nonché per la pianificazione territoriale e dello spazio marittimo e la conoscenza dei fenomeni statici e dinamici del sottosuolo. ; This paper represents a synthesis of the research and patrimonialisation work carried out on the occasion of the sixtieth anniversary of the foundation of the National Mining Office for Hydrocarbons and Georesources (UNMIG) dating back to 1957. In particular, it is highlighted the institutional and technological evolution and the role of mining cartography in the development of Italian mining policies on land and at sea. Initially related to non-energy raw materials and curated by the Geological Service since 1867, the Italian mining cartography has then developed, with the birth of the UNMIG, in reference to the exploration and production of hydrocarbons and geothermal resources. The result is a thematic geo-economic cartography, with strong territorial and political knowledge. Furthermore, thanks to the digitization and the open data ante litteram approach of the UNMIG, it represents a fundamental knowledge for the geostrategic, productive and scientific decision making processes in Italy. Moreover, it is important for the territorial and maritime spatial planning and the knowledge of the static and dynamic geological phenomena.

The Chinese Communist Party plays a crucial role in attempting to create a metanarrative on the history of China. The specific means used to achieve this goal have been analyzed from the viewpoints of politics, history and ideology. The role that political "code-words" play in such a process is still under-explored. This contribution fills part of this gap by exploring the most recent political and ideological concepts that set the boundaries of acceptable discourses on history. Our analysis focuses on an article authored by the China Institute for Historical Research and published in the January 2021 issue of Qiushi. We decode the meaning that this article conveys to policy makers and intellectuals in the People's Republic of China. We also unveil the meaning that this and similar texts might hide to international observers, who do not enjoy an unmediated access to Chinese language sources. ; Il Partito comunista cinese svolge un ruolo cruciale nel tentativo di creare una metanarrativa sulla storia della Cina. I mezzi specifici utilizzati per raggiungere questo obiettivo sono stati analizzati dal punto di vista della politica, della storia e dell'ideologia. Il ruolo che giocano le "parole in codice" politiche in tale processo è ancora poco esplorato. Questo contributo colma parte di questa lacuna esplorando i concetti politici e ideologici più recenti che fissano i confini dei discorsi accettabili sulla storia. La nostra analisi si concentra su un articolo scritto dall'Istituto cinese per la ricerca storicae pubblicato nel numero di gennaio 2021 di Qiushi. Decodificheremo il significato che questo articolo trasmette ai politici e agli intellettuali nella Repubblica popolare cinese, svelando anche il significato che questo e altri testi simili potrebbero nascondere agli osservatori internazionali, che non godono di un accesso immediato alle fonti in lingua cinese.
