Qualified industrial zones offer opportunities for greater Israeli and Jordanian understanding through personal and professional across the border contacts necessitated by the day-to-day
operation of these QIZs. It is peace by putting aside old history of mischief and
misgiving. The goal of the QIZs is also to provide desperately needed jobs to Jordanians
taking advantage of unlimited pool of cheap labor and tax benefits.6 Labor is in Jordanian
currency while the final product is in U.S dollar. Therefore, QIZs are very attractive.
The article focuses on the analysis of the development and use of industrial zones, which represent areas for the concentrated location of manufacturing sites specialised in a particular industry, strategic services, or technology centres. Both services and industry have an impact as the top engines of Gross Domestic Product and the labour force employment both in the Czech Republic and European Union. The area and the predominant category of economic activities are important parameters of each industrial zone. They place demands on the employees, transport, technical equipment, landscape, and settlement within the impact on the territory. The main goal of the research was the analysis of the industrial zone as a territory where warehouse and production hall projects are implemented. The analysis of warehouse and production hall construction investment was performed in Žďár nad Sázavou. The study of this project presents the project impact on the industrial area and the deviation between the project plan and the audited reality. The research sample consisted of 12 selected warehouse and production hall projects located in Central and Eastern Europe in various phases of their life cycle - the planning, implementation or operational phases. One of the partial outputs of the article is a SWOT analysis which deals with variables that affect project effectiveness both from the perspective of the investor and the public in the area where they are located. Implementation and operation of such projects significantly affect public life, so their potential socio-economic impact on the economic cash flow creation was examined.

А study of the significant investors in the industrial zones in Bulgaria is conducted. The results of already established and functioning industrial zones are analysed in parallel with an evaluation of investor expectations. The study is not strictly analytical but offers solutions and recommendations with potential to improve the functioning of the industrial zones in the country.
Economies and state budgets of many countries in the European Union have been calling for a change over the last decade. Expenditures of state and regional budgets should be reduced to improve their final bilance. Individual sectors of the economy should review each expenditure item to make sure that funds will be spent effectively as does the Ministry of Industry and Trade in the Czech Republic. The aim of this paper is to assess the effectiveness of industrial zones support as a tool of the regional development policy under current economic conditions in the Czech Republic. This support as an important part of investment incentives was provided by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic over the period of 2006–2009. The main source for the analysis is the data set obtained in empirical research carried out by the authors of this paper, accomplished economic analysis of economic performance of observed firms and also available statistical data. The observed sample of respondents consisted of firms located in the supported industrial zones.

This thesis investigates the fiscal and economic impact of Qualifying Industrial Zones (QIZs) on the Jordanian economy. In contrast to other studies, this study assesses costs and benefits of establishing such zones in Jordan. Fiscal as well as economic issues are investigated to clarify the impact of QIZs on the host country. This QIZ agreement pursued political aims more than broad economic goals, as QIZs were designed to ameliorate relations between Israel and Jordan. They were also expected to improve relations between Israel and other Arab countries through the cooperation required to get duty-free access to the USA market. Most countries consider special economic zones, such as QIZs, engines for growth, but empirical evidence from many countries in the world shows that the impact of various economic zones on growth is mixed. It has been assumed that QIZs play a significant role in increasing exports and earning foreign currency. However, ignoring the offsetting effects of imports is misleading. Depending heavily on an export-led growth strategy to stimulate and accelerate economic growth in the country should be viewed in light of increased imports of production inputs ...
International audience ; FDI is crucial in the process of development, and offers wide scope for backward linkages to the broader economy. In expectance of such role and benefits, governments all over the world have engaged in various kinds of productive policy measures including Export Processing Zones (EPZs) or Free Industrial Zones (FIZs). However, the costs of races to the bottom to integrate and accommodate foreign entrepreneurs and potential investors may outweigh the benefits. This study used a vector autoregressive (VAR) model to empirically investigate finds that without a broader supportive policy environmental thrust; such a policy may lead to enclave development rather than provide a foundation for broad-based economic development. Hence countries need to develop strategies that attract firms that seek competitiveness on the basis of factors beyond low costs and tax breaks.

Geographers have long examined the assumption that women are locally constricted and what this means for women taking up of economic opportunities. These studies have provided valuable insights into the understanding of the spatial dimension of social exclusion. However, the investigation of the role of wider economic, physical and social contexts on women's mobility and accessibility constraints has mainly concerned the countries in North America and Western Europe. Through a mixed methods study of two industrial zones in Turkey, this article looks at how women and men from different social backgrounds access the zones with the aim of identifying the specific constraints that women face in their everyday life in accessing economic opportunities. The results show that while gender seems to play a role in the choice of place of residence and the employers' perception of time use, women's socioeconomic and educational backgrounds seem to be more important predictors of their commuting patterns and access to the zones. The study confirms that gendered daily travel patterns are a useful unit of analysis for investigating unequal access to economic opportunities. It further argues that the complex nature of everyday mobilities of women should be interpreted in conjunction with the perceptions of employers on women's work spaces and time use.
This study reveals the major obstacles that both domestic and foreign companies face while working under the Qualifying Industrial Zones (QIZ) agreement in Jordan, according to the opinions of owners and managers. To uncover these problems, a questionnaire specially structured for this purpose was administered and distributed to all companies registered and working under the QIZ in three zones (Al Hassan Industrial Estate, Al Karak Industrial Park, and Al Tajamouat Industrial City). The total number of questionnaires distributed was 78. The results were based on the 51 returned questionnaires with full information, which constitute around 65% of the number of distributed questionnaires. Results indicate that respondents have problems in dealing with the Israeli side (either with exporters of raw material and with the procedures of the Israeli government). Also, respondents have problems related to the political instability in the region and how it will affect their work. In addition, respondents face problems with recruiting foreign labors, and securing housing and facilities for them. Finally, they face the problem of getting credit and financing from the local market. Therefore, peace and stability in the region will minimize the problems that face investors when dealing with the Israeli side. To minimize the problem associated with recruiting and hiring foreign labor, as well as, having problems with accommodating them at low costs, companies should be able to have training programs for local workers in order to increase their efficiency and productivity in the fields where they are needed. In addition, the government should issue certain rules and regulations that protect our environment.
