Taxation in Indonesia
Like several other developing countries formerly under colonial domination, Indonesia inherited an outmoded and highly inefficient tax structure. The chief purpose of the colonial tax system was to raise revenues to finance the colonial administration. It is no wonder then, that the Indonesian tax system was not effective in carbing serious inflation and promoting capital formation. The present book introduces recent restructuring of the Indonesian tax system and explains in detail the differences between the old and the new system. (DÜI-Sbt)
