Framing Politics: An Integrative Approach
In: American behavioral scientist: ABS, Band 56, Heft 3, S. 247-259
ISSN: 1552-3381
As has often been noted, one of the strengths of framing research has been to bridge several research areas in mass communication, such as the origin, journalistic production, content, and effects of news. This article attempts to provide an overview and a review of the cross-disciplinary discourse about framing. Although there are numerous studies on frame construction, frame building, and frame setting, hardly any research has attempted to draw a complete picture of the whole framing process. Based on a definition of frames and framing that can be applied across all stages of the framing process, the design and the methods of an extensive study about a campaign on the naturalization of immigrants are introduced. The merits and insights of such an approach are discussed.
Psychological criminology: an integrative approach
In: Crime science series
"Psychological Criminology explores what is it about individuals and their experiences that cause them to commit crime and or to become criminal. Fully updated to include the latest theories and research, this new edition provides comprehensive coverage of psychological theories of crime and criminality. It arranges theories in temporal sequence, from distal to proximal causes of crime, and is organised under three key headings: theories that focus on factors present at birth (human nature, heredity); theories that focus on factors that influence the offender over the lifespan (learning and development); theories that focus on factors present at the crime scene. The book emphasizes the connections among the different approaches, and demonstrates how, taken together rather than as rival explanations, they provide a more complete picture of crime and criminality. Psychological Criminology highlights the contributions that psychological theory can make to the broader field of criminology. It is essential reading to students, academics, researchers and practitioners in both criminology and forensic psychology"--

Teaching leadership: an integrative approach
In: Leadership: research and practice series
Teaching Leadership provides guidance for leadership educators in a variety of organizational and community contexts and across academic disciplines. An experienced leadership educator, Crosby promotes an inclusive vision of leadership that recognizes the inherent leadership potential in everyone. Featuring interviews with 25 respected leadership educators, Teaching Leadership complicates and enriches the leader-follower dichotomy to advance a holistic and practice-oriented model of leadership education. Using the metaphor of `heart, head, and hands, ' Crosby shows how authentic leadership is an embodied practice based equally in emotional, intellectual, and experiential learning.
