Umberto Gori has held the first chair of International Relations in Italy and has been the first scholar to address a series of central topics in the analysis of foreign policy and international politics. Those who browse, even if only rapidly, his rich bibliography cannot but be struck by the great variety of the topics examined: from the first works of a predominantly legal nature, we move on to studies centered on methodological and epistemological issues, relations between states, analysis of foreign policy in general and Italian foreign policy in particular, Peace Research, strategic affairs, intelligence, and finally the impact of the information and digital revolution on international politics and contemporary strategy. What holds together so many different issues is, firstly, a constant attention to methodology and, secondly, a clear preference for a predominantly operational approach, in the belief that knowledge must always be functional to decision and action. These basic attitudes are reflected not only in his strongly characterized research agenda, but also in the twofold nature of his teaching commitment: on the one hand, Gori taught outside the university classrooms, at military and governmental institutions, for decades; on the other hand, he introduced issues traditionally reserved to diplomacy and security institutions into the Italian academic context. Such a propensity to build bridges between different worlds - academic, military, technological, diplomatic, financial - and a research vocation that has never failed make Umberto Gori a figure indissolubly linked to the birth and development of International Relations in Italy.

The Stanze della Moda project has set up an Observatory with the purpose of economic and management monitoring of the fabric of the Florentine companies through a marketing and research workshop. The analysis of several major international retailers demonstrates the emergence of a successful business model which, albeit in some respects idiosyncratic and difficult to transfer, represents an innovative stimulus for companies in the sector that want to redefine their competitiveness in the face of the altered market conditions. The focus on the Florentine companies delineates the ways in which the local manufacturers intercept the purchasing channels of major retail, creating a mediated form of sales on the international markets

This volume collects some of the contributions presented at the Italian session of the International Social Work Education and Development Online (ISWED 2021) conference, jointly organised by the International Association of Schools of Social Work (IASSW), and the International Council of Social Welfare (ICSW) and, for the Italian language sessions, by the National Foundation of Social Workers.
Its aim is to contribute to the debate that was opened with the creation of the Global Agenda, an initiative taken by the three international organisations in the 2010/2020 decade and renewed for the 2020/2030 decade. In particular, the volume offers reflections on the role of social work in promoting human relations, justice and social solidarity, showing how research, training and professional practice can have an impact in translating the goals guiding the Global Agenda into practice.
While the first eight chapters deal specifically with the Italian context and address different themes, such as social work in the face of social emergency, qualitative research as a means of reconstructing social action, perspectives in decision-making processes for the protection of minors, and reciprocity in the exchange between social work and the homeless, the agapic relationship in social work, the production of knowledge in the process of aid, and finally the practices of training in Italian universities, the ninth chapter is dedicated to a historical analysis of social service and training in the State of Espirito Santo in Brazil.
Keywords: social work, social justice, social solidarity, human relations, global agenda
We believe that this volume can offer an articulate and complex panorama of what is being debated and realised in contemporary social work and can be of interest to all those who,
teachers, students, professionals working in the social field.

The chapter aims to provide an overview of the main challenges of foreign policy analysis in contemporary politics. After introducing the ways in which foreign policy analysis is addressed in the internationalist political literature, with a focus on policy formulation and decision-making understood as public policy, the authors focus on some of the main challenges that foreign policy scholars are called upon to face. In particular, the themes of (de)globalization and (dis)information are deepened, pointing out the reinforcement of the state and the risks connected to an increasing cognitive confusion.

The book traces the main stages of third mission and social impact assessment, in the context of the (recent) history of higher education and research assessment in Italy, starting with a review of the transformation of the relationship between the University and the society. Several social drives are leading the university to a series of transformations, at the national, European and international level. The requirement to use transparency criteria and the associated returns of research spending (in accountability) has become a fundamental issue in informing government, business, citizens and society on the achieved results. The introduction of social impact assessment frameworks is also advancing research agendas towards socially relevant domains, to provide solutions in international competitiveness, social welfare, sustainability and other grand challenges. A terminological and conceptual shift is occurring from a traditional concept of technology transfer and third mission towards a broader meaning of knowledge exchange and co-creation between universities and extra-academic actors and the impact generated. However, this shift towards a transdisciplinary, trans-epistemic and inclusive evaluation framework poses new challenges to capture this complexity, requiring the adoption of new methods and tools presented in this book. The international literature and debate on practices are vital combined with trial-and-error approaches, community involvement, and targeted pilot studies. Beyond controversies, resistances, and easily contrived enthusiasms, this is what this volume tries to investigate.

This volume collects the reports from the conference Quando la giustizia incontra il minore, held in Pesaro on 11th May 2013. The conference, to which jurists and professionals of the sector took part, was an important opportunity for discussion on the ways to correctly protect the hearing of minors within the many processes involving them, and on the consequent need, in the courts, for premises which are adequately equipped for that purpose. The creation of protected listening rooms in Italian courts was the main national project of the Soroptimist International of Italy during the two-year period going from 2011 to 2013; to date, 40 rooms have been completed and a further 10 are under construction. This project is also expected to continue in the upcoming two years. Soroptimist International is a women's association made up of women with high qualifications in the workplace. The association operates for the promotion of human rights, the improvement of women's condition and the acceptance of diversity through a wide array of projects. Their name comes from the Latin words soror and optima. The first Soroptimist club was born in the United States in 1921, whereas the first Italian club was founded in Milan in 1928. There are currently 143 Italian clubs with about 6.000 members. The Soroptimist International of Italy publishes the magazine "La voce delle donne - Soroptimist news" and has an institutional website: www.soroptimist.it. Foreword by the Italian Minister Annamaria Cancellieri
Throughout World War II, it is estimated that up to 20% of all of Europe's art became the object of numerous forms of looting by the Nazi regime. Despite the Allies' significant efforts to recover and return such artworks, the repercussions of this unprecedented plunder can still be observed to this day; at the turn of the millennium, a renewed interest in the tragic fate of the looted art that was never recovered pervaded the Western world, leading to a new wave of restitutions that does not appear bound to come to a halt anytime soon. This volume highlights the fundamental differences that have characterized the evolution of this process in Europe and in the Unites States, by retracing some landmark cases and the way they have impacted the discussion around restitution.
