Founded in 1993 with its focus on anti-corruption, transparency, Transparency International has grown into the most important NGO (non-government organization) in the area of anti-corruption, with a secretariat in Berlin and independent offices in over 90 countries. The organization sends out three reports yearly: Global Corruption Report, Bribe Payers Index, and the Corruption Perception Index. Since 2006, TI also measures the transparency of party systems, and the ways in which populations are able to find out what exactly is going on, and who support political candidates financially.
