Die Theorie des kommunikativen Handelns von Habermas wird als Rahmentheorie gewählt, da sie handlungs- und systemtheoretische Ansätze mit kognitiven und psychodynamischen Entwicklungstheorien verbindet. Aus dieser Rahmentheorie werden Orientierungsgesichtspunkte für die Interpretation biographischer Interviews entwickelt und am ersten Schritt der Interpretation, der Validierung der Interviewäußerungen, konkretisiert. Das biographische Interview erweist sich als "gemeinsames Produkt" des kommunikativen Handelns der Interviewpartner. Es entspricht jedoch in vielerlei Hinsicht nicht den Momenten der Alltagskommunikation. Verständlichkeit, Wahrheit, soziale Angemessenheit und Aufrichtigkeit werden als Geltungsansprüche an das Interview, das ein Arbeitsbündnis ist, formuliert. Die Validierung wird selbst als ein Akt des Interpretierens gesehen. (KG)
