The links between Asian cultures and Latin America have been primarily approached from the political, economic and historical sciences. However, not enough research has been done yet in terms of cultural production and it is still much less in the literary area. The immigration contingencies of these Asian groups, their modes of adaptation and establishment are evident in different artistic registers (cinema, photography, music, performance, narrative), probably due to the long stay in different Latin American countries, but especially to the economic and technological impact that an Asian country like Japan has on the territory. This work focuses on the story "Un samurái ve el amanecer en Acapulco" written by Álvaro Enrigue in which he addresses the historical presence of the first Japanese migratory groups to New Spain. The present text is interested in exploring the construction carried out by Álvaro Enrigue in relation to Japanese narrative and history and exploring the appropriation he makes of it to nurture his own literary project. We will observe that the author carries out an intensive work in the exploration of historical archives and makes them intervene in the contemporary, with this we will reveal that literature is for the author a space for the reconstruction of the existing gaps in the archives.

Contrary to the traditional characterisation of migration as an experience of uprooting, breaking, it has begun to see it as a process of diasporisation, in terms of Roger Brubaker, prioritising the persistence of a cultural identity linking place of origin and destination. The growing spatial mobility of the population has led to the need to rethink the study of the history of migration. Traditionally, it was based on national stories, either from the host community or from the place of origin, and its socio-economic impact was studied in particular. Transnational practices, the use of cultural expressions such as 'ethnic brands' in diasporisation processes, force us to broaden the field of observation. In the case of the Japanese community, its origins, the role of the Japanese government and its objectives in promoting the preservation of Japanese cultural identity, not always in line with those of the community itself, will be presented here. Attention is also drawn to the heterogeneity of Japanese culture in the case of okinawense. Finally, the experience of Argentinian nationals of Japanese origin in Japan, through which it is possible to observe the process of building their own identity, will be observed. Faculty of Humanities and Education Sciences ; During the 1980s, migration was understood in terms of the images presented in works like Oscar Handlin's The Uprooted. More recently, our understanding of migration has been influenced by Rogers Brubaker's works on diasporas and "diasporization". The main element considered by Brubaker was the persistence of a cultural identity as a continuum from the point of departure to the point of arrival. Recently, the improvements in communication and technology have made spatial mobility possible, thus creating a need to review theoretical approaches to the history of migration. Until recent times, nation–states were considered the proper framework for the study of this phenomenon. Researchers show special interest in the impact of migration in socio-economic ...

the World War II has divided Japanese history between what came before and what came behind. After been defeated in 1945, a new narrative of postwar Japan, separated for the militarized past one was constructed. the representation of the war in manga shows in a certain way how Japanese postwar society attempted to deal with the war and how Japan came to be what it is today. My goal is to study how World War II was remembered and depicted in Japanese comic art during the postwar and to understand which narratives were accepted and which were rejected by the society in order to configure the idea of Japanese Nation; which narratives differs from the official discourse of the role of Japan in the War, and which ones strengthens it.

In this regard, the main question to be resolved in this study is the following: What role did Japanese migration play in the establishing and development of commercial relations between Brazil and Japan? To answer this question, this essay makes a historical review analyzing the moment in which Japanese migrations began to Brazil, encouraged to a large extent by the Japanese government as part of its development strategy. Likewise, this paper analyzes the process by which the establishment and formation of networks of Japanese immigrants in Brazil took place, who settled in that country integrating into its society until their subsequent emigration to Japan, decades later. This process eventually contributed to the consolidation of trade, cooperation and investment relations between Brazil and Japan. In the same way, this last fact was essential for the consolidation of the social capital and relations between both countries, in a process that has been fundamental for the development of both economies, constituting a diplomatic and economic policy of vital importance.
