"Soy sólo parte de ellos". Hannah Arendt, The Jewish Writings ; "I merely Belong to Them". Hannah Arendt, The Jewish Writings
; The text Hannah Arendt devoted to Judaism, centered on topics like the homeland and nationalism, cultural belonging and the question of stateless people, are exhibitions of paradoxes rather than close texts. Skeptical about both assimilationism and Zionism, Arendt defends the secularization of politics while she dismantle the logics of the state-nation, as, to her, the common history of exile and dispossession sets the path for the union of Jews and Palestinians, of inmigrants and stateless people, and enables Jewish thought about the concept of justice.

Representaciones y beneficencia. Mujeres alemanas y judías en Argentina, siglo XX
Recently, historical and migration studies have started to pick up the multiple contributionsof native and immigrant women to the construction of the Argentinian nation, especially bytheir participation in welfare, political and union associations. In this paper, we look intotwo groups of women, Jewish and German women in Argentina. We focus on three textsabout German immigration to Argentina, with the aim to find out which is the discursiverepresentation of women in these texts, which properties and activities are predicated aboutthem, and to which extend they appear with independence of other (male) family members. We detect that two texts support a 'traditional' representation, where women stay in thebackground and have hardly any function with independence of their husbands or teachers. The third text partly presents the same traits, whereas in other opportunities it highlightsfemale achievements.

Femininity normative and sexual violence in the III Reich. The deconstruction of femenine identity and the sexual exploitation of Jewish women in the concentration and extermination camps ; La feminidad normativa y la violencia sexual en el III Reich. La deconstrucción de las identidades femeninas y...
The article provides an overview of the sexual violence against women in the concentration and extermination camps through the testimony offered by the survivors. Women suffer a specific kind of violence with a double meaning: political and symbolic. For this reason, the sexual violence must be analyzed as a category of analysis that incorporates a gender perspective. The article is divided into two distinct and interdependent parts. First, it analyzes the nationalist discourse about the Nazi model of femininity based on the concepts of motherhood and racial purity. Secondly, it studies the adaptation of this model of normative femininity to the eugenic and racial policies carried out in the camps. The research has focused exclusively on sexual violence against Jewish women because the relevance of the "Project Final Solution" in the National Socialism politic.

"Three geopolitical essays criticize Argentina's recent foreign policy from a nationalistic perspective. Believes that Menem's abandonment of traditional Peronist policies and his option for Western alignment were the result of a 'brilliant plot planned and executed by the Jewish-North American lobby and the British and Israeli secret services' and calls for a new role to be played by nationalistic army groups in formulating and implementing independent policies. Representative sample of the unbalanced views held by these military groups and their civilian allies who opposed Alfonsín's and Menem's foreign policies"--Handbook of Latin American Studies, v. 57
; The notions of "normality" and "blooming" became a central topic of interpretations about the attitude of the "Jewish community's leadership" during the military dictatorship. These concepts were used more to contest the practices of those who were at the head of the central institutions, than by a will to understand the meaning that these patterns of "normality" and "blooming" actually had for "Jewish life". But, why should this presence of the concepts of "blooming" and/or "normality" in the daily functioning of Jewish institutional life within the dictatorial context be surprising at all? Would it be right to focus on the "normalized" aspects of life precisely within context defined by a state of exception? Given the fact that most studies about the military dictatorship have focused on the repressive dimension of the regime, it would not be a minor issue to reach an understanding of how a social agent allegedly sensitive to implementation of persecutory policies, could develop a rich public life without feeling particularly threatened. This paper will attempt to establish what these notions of "normality" and "blooming" actually meant for Jewish institutional life during the dictatorship, and to identify some spaces that acted as subterfuges, of political, cultural and social practices which contrasted with the cultural model supported by the military regime. But it will also attempt to shed some light on a problem that cannot be understated: the acknowledgment of the diversity of issues that the main institutional agents had to take side on –many times not without internal struggle-, showing that they were not solely influenced by the agenda of the "national political sphere", but also by what could be defined as the "institutional" or "Jewish agenda", to which the main actors devoted in many cases most of their attention. ; Fil: Kahan, Emmanuel Nicolas.
In: Revista mexicana de ciencias políticas y sociales, Band 61, Heft 228, S. 211-234
ISSN: 2448-492X
